Digital repositories are currently being used by education and research institutions in Brazil as an alternative for propagating scientific and academic results, mainly to reach institutional memory and visibility. However, the way these results are presented may influence their use, affecting user-system interaction through the interface components. Thus, it is possible to state that an unique digital information environment can offer different ways of visual presentation, customizing informational and visual components for specific users communities. In this context, tools are being developed as a resource to make access and use of information easier, and to increase the usability of digital informational environments. One of these tools, Manakin, is presented in this paper, as well as its integration with the DSpace platform, in order to enable multiple visual presentations, stressing the importance of the differentiation and direction of interfaces by a single repository to the various knowledge fields. So, results and examples of repositories with multiple visual presentations are introduced, to facilitate the use of the presented tool, as well as to reinforce the importance of a differentiated visual identity by areas of knowledge in a single repository, by means of literary and exploratory analysis.

On the Bhabha scattering for z=2 Lifshitz QED

In this paper, we compute and discuss the differential cross-section of the Bhabha scattering in the framework of the z = 2 Lifshitz quantum electrodynamics (QED). We start by constructing the classical solutions for the fermionic fields, in particular the completeness relations, and also derive the theory's propagators. Afterwards, we compute the photon exchange and pair annihilation contributions for the Bhabha's process, and upon achieving the results we establish the magnitude of the theory's free parameter by looking for small deviations of the QED tree results.

An infinite hierarchy of solvable systems of purely differential nonlinear equations is introduced within the framework of asymptotic modules. Eacy system consists of (2+1)-dimensional evolution equations for two complex functions and of quite strong differential constraints. Effect of veneering material on the deformation suffered by implant-supported fixed prosthesis framework

The aim of this study was to evaluate the deformation suffered by cantilevered implant-supported fixed prostheses frameworks cast in silver-palladium alloy and coated with two occlusal veneering materials: acrylic resin or porcelain. Material and Methods: Two strain gauges were bonded to the inferior surface of the silver-palladium framework and two other were bonded to the occlusal surface of the prosthesis framework covered with ceramic and acrylic resin on each of its two halves. The framework was fixed to a metallic master model and a 35.2 N compression force was applied to the cantilever at 10, 15 and 20 mm from the most distal implant. The measurements of deformation by compression and tension were obtained. The statistical 2-way ANOVA test was used for individual analysis of the experiment variables and the Tukey test was used for the interrelation between all the variables (material and distance of force application). Results: The results showed that both variables had influence on the studied factors (deformation by compression and tension). Conclusion: The ceramic coating provided greater rigidity to the assembly and therefore less distortion compared with the uncoated framework and with the resin-coated framework. The cantilever arm length also influenced the prosthesis rigidity, causing higher deformation the farther the load was applied from the last implant.

Computer simulation study of collective dynamics in the glass former Ca(NO3)(2)center dot 4H(2)O

Time correlation functions of current fluctuations were calculated by molecular dynamics (MD) simulations in order to investigate sound waves of high wavevectors in the glass-forming liquid Ca(NO3)(2)center dot 4H(2)O. Dispersion curves, omega(k), were obtained for longitudinal (LA) and transverse acoustic (TA) modes, and also for longitudinal optic (LO) modes. Spectra of LA modes calculated by MD simulations were modeled by a viscoelastic model within the memory function framework. The viscoelastic model is used to rationalize the change of slope taking place at k similar to 0.3 angstrom(-1) in the omega(k) curve of acoustic modes. For still larger wavevectors, mixing of acoustic and optic modes is observed. Partial time correlation functions of longitudinal mass currents were calculated separately for the ions and the water molecules. The wavevector dependence of excitation energies of the corresponding partial LA modes indicates the coexistence of a relatively stiff subsystem made of cations and anions, and a softer subsystem made of water molecules. Family Management Style Framework and Its Use With Families Who Have a Child Undergoing Palliative Care at Home

Palliative care settings in many countries acknowledge families as their prime focus of care, but in Brazil, to date, researchers have devoted scant attention to that practice setting. In this article, we report the findings of a study that explored how families define and manage their lives when they have a child or adolescent undergoing palliative care at home. Data included individual semistructured interviews with 14 family members of 11 different families. Interviews were transcribed and the coding procedure featured qualitative content analysis methods. The deductive coding was based on the major components of the Family Management Style Framework and the eight dimensions comprising these components. The analysis provides insight into families' daily practices and problems inherent in managing their everyday lives that are encountered when they have a child in palliative care. The article features discussion of implications for the palliative care related development of family nursing practice.

On the Hilbert transform in the framework of generalized functions

In this paper, a definition of the Hilbert transform operating on Colombeau's temperated generalized functions is given. Similar results to some theorems that hold in the classical theory, or in certain subspaces of Schwartz distributions, have been obtained in this framework.
