La memòria consisteix en el desenvolupament d'un sistema web per gestionar l'inventari de dispositius de xarxa i d'equips informàtics d'una escola. Més concretament dels equips es pot gestionar informació referent a característiques de hardware, software i de xarxa com l'adreça MAC, IP, roseta on està connectat... Dels dispositius de xarxa es pot gestionar informació referent als armaris, patch panels, switches, virtual LANs i punts d'accés on es connecten ordinadors, portàtils, telèfons o faxos.

A long development time is needed from the design to the implementation of an AUV. During the first steps, simulation plays an important role, since it allows for the development of preliminary versions of the control system to be integrated. Once the robot is ready, the control systems are implemented, tuned and tested. The use of a real-time simulator can help closing the gap between off-line simulation and real testing using the already implemented robot. When properly interfaced with the robot hardware, a real-time graphical simulation with a "hardware in the loop" configuration, can allow for the testing of the implemented control system running in the actual robot hardware. Hence, the development time is drastically reduced. These paper overviews the field of graphical simulators used for AUV development proposing a classification. El projecte desenvolupat ha tractat l’estudi i disseny d’un motor 3D interactiu a la consolaGame Boy Advance (GBA). La GBA disposa d’un processador ARM7TDMI a 16’78Mhz i no disposa de operacions 3D per-hardware, és una consola lenta en comparació lesque podem trobar al mercat d’avui en dia. Aquest treball, va partir de la construcció d’un prototipus ray-casting per-columna. Després,vàrem adaptar-lo a una estructura de portals i sectors. Més tard,es va introduir el mapeig de sostre/terra i de paisatges. Per últim,vàrem introduir efectes a la renderització per donar més realismeal recorregut del món, com il·luminació, objectes, etc.Tot i que es va estudiar l’arquitectura d’un motor eficient, no estenia prou per arribar a tenir un motor interactiu. Una de lestasques més difícils va ser la part de optimització. Peraconseguir-ho s’ha hagut de substituir operacions a temps realcostoses a temps de execució, replantejar parts de l’algorisme per fer-lo més eficient, entre altres

Este proyecto tiene como objetivo desarrollar un aplicativo en formato web capaz de dar soporte al modelado de equipos hardware para su posterior publicación en librerías. El proyecto se incluye en un entorno de trabajo constituido por una serie de herramientas de las que nuestro proyecto es una pequeña pero importante parte. Nuestro objetivo comprenderá la creación y posterior gestión de modelos de equipos hardware para ser utilizados por los proyectistas de instalaciones de control industrial, que generen sus trabajos mediante el uso del entorno de desarrollo GISCMO (Gestor integrado de sistemas de control y modelado de objetos).

Recently, morphometric measurements of the ascending aorta have been done with ECG-gated multidector computerized tomography (MDCT) to help the development of future novel transcatheter therapies (TCT); nevertheless, the variability of such measurements remains unknown. Thirty patients referred for ECG-gated CT thoracic angiography were evaluated. Continuous reformations of the ascending aorta, perpendicular to the centerline, were obtained automatically with a commercially available computer aided diagnosis (CAD). Then measurements of the maximal diameter were done with the CAD and manually by two observers (separately). Measurements were repeated one month later. The Bland-Altman method, Spearman coefficients, and a Wilcoxon signed-rank test were used to evaluate the variability, the correlation, and the differences between observers. The interobserver variability for maximal diameter between the two observers was up to 1.2 mm with limits of agreement [-1.5, +0.9] mm; whereas the intraobserver limits were [-1.2, +1.0] mm for the first observer and [-0.8, +0.8] mm for the second observer. The intraobserver CAD variability was 0.8 mm. The correlation was good between observers and the CAD (0.980-0.986); however, significant differences do exist (P<0.001). The maximum variability observed was 1.2 mm and should be considered in reports of measurements of the ascending aorta. The CAD is as reproducible as an experienced reader.

The EVS4CSCL project starts in the context of a Computer Supported Collaborative Learning environment (CSCL). Previous UOC projects created a CSCL generic platform (CLPL) to facilitate the development of CSCL applications. A discussion forum (DF) was the first application developed over the framework. This discussion forum was different from other products on the marketplace because of its focus on the learning process. The DF carried out the specification and elaboration phases from the discussion learning process but there was a lack in the consensus phase. The consensus phase in a learning environment is not something to be achieved but tested. Common tests are done by Electronic Voting System (EVS) tools, but consensus test is not an assessment test. We are not evaluating our students by their answers but by their discussion activity. Our educational EVS would be used as a discussion catalyst proposing a discussion about the results after an initial query or it would be used after a discussion period in order to manifest how the discussion changed the students mind (consensus). It should be also used by the teacher as a quick way to know where the student needs some reinforcement. That is important in a distance-learning environment where there is no direct contact between the teacher and the student and it is difficult to detect the learning lacks. In an educational environment, assessment it is a must and the EVS will provide direct assessment by peer usefulness evaluation, teacher marks on every query created and indirect assessment from statistics regarding the user activity.

Malposition of the acetabular component during hip arthroplasty increases the occurrence of impingement, reduces range of motion, and increases the risk of dislocation and long-term wear. To prevent malpositioned hip implants, an increasing number of computer-assisted orthopaedic systems have been described, but their accuracy is not well established. The purpose of this study was to determine the reproducibility and accuracy of conventional versus computer-assisted techniques for positioning the acetabular component in total hip arthroplasty. Using a lateral approach, 150 cups were placed by 10 surgeons in 10 identical plastic pelvis models (freehand, with a mechanical guide, using computer assistance). Conditions for cup implantations were made to mimic the operating room situation. Preoperative planning was done from a computed tomography scan. The accuracy of cup abduction and anteversion was assessed with an electromagnetic system. Freehand placement revealed a mean accuracy of cup anteversion and abduction of 10 degrees and 3.5 degrees, respectively (maximum error, 35 degrees). With the cup positioner, these angles measured 8 degrees and 4 degrees (maximum error, 29.8 degrees), respectively, and using computer assistance, 1.5 degrees and 2.5 degrees degrees (maximum error, 8 degrees), respectively. Computer-assisted cup placement was an accurate and reproducible technique for total hip arthroplasty. It was more accurate than traditional methods of cup positioning.

El rápido crecimiento del los sistemas multicore y los diversos enfoques que estos han tomado, permiten que procesos complejos que antes solo eran posibles de ejecutar en supercomputadores, hoy puedan ser ejecutados en soluciones de bajo coste también denominadas "hardware de comodidad". Dichas soluciones pueden ser implementadas usando los procesadores de mayor demanda en el mercado de consumo masivo (Intel y AMD). Al escalar dichas soluciones a requerimientos de cálculo científico se hace indispensable contar con métodos para medir el rendimiento que los mismos ofrecen y la manera como los mismos se comportan ante diferentes cargas de trabajo. Debido a la gran cantidad de tipos de cargas existentes en el mercado, e incluso dentro de la computación científica, se hace necesario establecer medidas "típicas" que puedan servir como soporte en los procesos de evaluación y adquisición de soluciones, teniendo un alto grado de certeza de funcionamiento. En la presente investigación se propone un enfoque práctico para dicha evaluación y se presentan los resultados de las pruebas ejecutadas sobre equipos de arquitecturas multicore AMD e Intel.

A graphical processing unit (GPU) is a hardware device normally used to manipulate computer memory for the display of images. GPU computing is the practice of using a GPU device for scientific or general purpose computations that are not necessarily related to the display of images. Many problems in econometrics have a structure that allows for successful use of GPU computing. We explore two examples. The first is simple: repeated evaluation of a likelihood function at different parameter values. The second is a more complicated estimator that involves simulation and nonparametric fitting. We find speedups from 1.5 up to 55.4 times, compared to computations done on a single CPU core. These speedups can be obtained with very little expense, energy consumption, and time dedicated to system maintenance, compared to equivalent performance solutions using CPUs. Code for the examples is provided.

Positron emission tomography is a functional imaging technique that allows the detection of the regional metabolic rate, and is often coupled with other morphological imaging technique such as computed tomography. The rationale for its use is based on the clearly demonstrated fact that functional changes in tumor processes happen before morphological changes. Its introduction to the clinical practice added a new dimension in conventional imaging techniques. This review presents the current and proposed indications of the use of positron emission/computed tomography for prostate, bladder and testes, and the potential role of this exam in radiotherapy planning.

This paper presents a pattern recognition method focused on paintings images. The purpose is construct a system able to recognize authors or art styles based on common elements of his work (here called patterns). The method is based on comparing images that contain the same or similar patterns. It uses different computer vision techniques, like SIFT and SURF, to describe the patterns in descriptors, K-Means to classify and simplify these descriptors, and RANSAC to determine and detect good results. The method are good to find patterns of known images but not so good if they are not.

El grupo de robòtica i Visió fabricó la tarjeta gráfica MAGCL para el tratamiento de imágenes en tiempo real, en la que se incluyó un conector IDC20 proveniente de parte del bus de datos, de la FPGA que contiene, destinado a futuras aplicaciones. Con este proyecto se quiere aprovechar este conector para la comunicación de la placa con un PC, y se desarrollarán los puertos de comunicación serie RS232 y USB, Universal Serial Bus.El objetivo de este proyecto es establecer la comunicación de la tarjeta gráfica con un PC a través de estos dos tipos de puerto. Una vez conseguida la comunicación, quedan una serie de librerías hardware que pueden ayudar en la realización de futuros proyectos. La placa posee una FPGA (field programable gate array) destinada al desarrollo, pero programando esas librerías sobre otros componentes, se pueden utilizar estos puertos de forma permanente o exclusiva
