Este livro analisa a racionalização das tradições num contexto de modernidade tardia. A análise tem como ponto de partida as tradições gaúchas e sua manifestação nos Centros de Tradição Gaúcha (CTG). O estudo foi desenvolvido com base na bibliografia especializada sobre o tema e em uma pesquisa efetuada durante o ENART 2008 - Encontro de Arte e Tradição Gaúcha, realizado em 2008 na cidade de Santa Cruz do Sul - RS. Os estudos apontam que a modernidade tardia traz à tona a reflexividade e racionalização das relações, experiências e tradições. Tradições são (re)inventadas e, neste caso, (re)inventadas tendo o CTG como cenário e esta (re)invenção permite manter os vínculos e a sociabilidade do grupo sócio-cultural que se reconhece enquanto grupo e se diferencia dos demais por identificar-se em torno de símbolos, práticas, crenças e rituais que os une, pois é comum a todos eles, independente do espaço geográfico que ocupem. Na modernidade tardia o caráter de ludicidade atribuído às tradições (re)inventadas no CTG é o fio condutor para inúmeras relações que se estabelecem nesse cenário e é o combustível de todas as práticas e rituais vivenciados ali. A ludicidade das atividades dá sentido às práticas tradicionalistas e à toda tradição que foi (re)inventada e que passa a ser racionalizada no contexto de modernidade reflexiva. Essa apropriação do caráter lúdico das tradições e as relações estabelecidas no CTG a partir dos símbolos, práticas e rituais sinalizam que estamos vivenciando no Brasil um contexto de modernidade tardia. No contexto da modernidade tardia, a tradição racionalizada é uma maneira de evitar choques entre diferentes valores e modos de vida, uma vez que age como articuladora de atores e grupos sociais, entre as diferentes instâncias do mundo social.

Based on the reflections of Habermas and his conception of modernity, understood as an unfinished project, Giddens stresses that in all societies the maintenance of personal identity and its connection to broader social identities is a primordial requirement for ontological security. To achieve ontological security, modernity had to (re) invent traditions and get away from genuine traditions, that is, those values radically linked to the pre-modern past. This is a character of the discontinuity of modernity, the separation between what is presented as the new and that which persists as the legacy of the old. This article discusses the relationship between tradition and modernity and the dialogue between Giddens and Habermas. The goal is to identify the points of contact and the differences in the theses defended by both authors, in order to assess their contributions to discussions of the rationalization of contemporary societies. Late or reflexive modernity is an uninterrupted process of changes that affect the foundations of Western society. Faced with a reality of constant change, it is necessary to choose between the certainty of the past and a new reality of continuous change. In this sense, and according to the Habermasian perspective, the reflexive character of modernity is found in this process of choosing between the certainties inherited from the past and new social forms, a process that that leads to the reflection on - or even the recasting of - social practices, causing the rationalization and (re) invention of various aspects of life in society.

Este artigo realiza uma reflexão teórica sobre as categorias sujeito e estrutura à luz das observações empíricas nas pesquisas que venho realizando sobre movimentos populares na cidade de São Paulo. O objetivo é criticar a suposição de que este debate está superado. Para isso, busco formular quatro teses para dar conta da mediação entre ambas as categorias, já que o pressuposto teórico é que as estruturas não impedem a ação, ao contrário, a tornam possível e, ao mesmo tempo, a ação transforma as estruturas, segundo as temporalidades específicas de cada estrutura (econômica, jurídico-política e sócio-cultural) próprias do modo de produção capitalista.

Esta monografia tem como objetivo apresentar uma pesquisa bibliográfica que investiga a educação popular como instrumento social usado por grupos étnicos formados ao longo da história nacional brasileira, que, devido ao contexto social em que foram submetidos indígenas e negros no período do Brasil Colônia reedificaram sua cultura descendente manifestando-a através da dança, do canto e expressões artísticas. A pesquisa reorganizou parcialmente o caminhar histórico dos afrodescendentes e influências indígenas focando alguns dos principais fatores histórico-sociais que estimularam a construção de manifestações populares, tais como: a Coroação do Maracatu e da Congada, a Roda de Jongo, o Samba de Coco, o Lundu e Tambú (Batuque de Umbigada). Para auxiliar o entendimento deste processo foi elaborada uma abordagem qualitativa, aprofundando conhecimentos sobre a educação e manifestações populares brasileiras usando como metodologia a coleta de dados bibliográficos, análise e extração de dados de documentários referentes às manifestações populares no Brasil, consultam a sites oficiais, e também depoimentos recolhidos com membros da comunidade negra das cidades de Rio Claro e Campinas/ SP. O resultado foi uma monografia composta por elementos históricos que demonstram as contribuições da educação popular na recolocação social dos descendentes de ex escravos no cenário cultural do Brasil

Nowadays, we understand the childhood as a result of historical and social changes. This work aims to comprehend representations and expectations made by children from the popular classes in the initial years of Fundamentaql Education. We conducted a research with six students from a public school that attends children from urban popular layer's families. The research examines the meanings and representations of educational practices developed in the relationships established among teachers, students and families through their life stories. Among the results, we can say that the environment of differentiation in the school id perceived to the students because they introject teacher's representations about their performance. Scientific studies show that children crystallize a positive image of the shool when the speech and posture of the institution value and encourage learning. However, the students are challenged to produce better results in order to participate in extracurricular activities, which they are excluded todue indiscipline or learning difficulties. The mean of the schooling is highly influenced by the performance of students and also by the attitude of educators in the family and in the school. The theoretical review points out that when students have a good performance, the merit is attributed to stress and ease they have to acquire the learning contents. In other hand, struggling students or with a lag of content explains the academic problems stems from the lack of capacity and potential for acquisition of learning compatible with age, defining schooling as something necessary for training, but which is inaccessible in their life stories

In regards to the context of the schooling for less the most favored, the school did not appear as intellectual instrument, and yes as prerequisite to take care of to the new requirements of the work market that if modernized the great social changes together with. The school, in turn, if puts in charge them to know scientific, and, for times, them norms of effective behavior in the society and the familiar group, them feelings and moral values, in a transposition of the “cultural capital” and it “capital stock” that passed by generations. This work, therefore, had as objective to study the expectations of schooling of the child in pertaining to school age, in the universes of the family and the school, from the speech of the agents of this process (parents, responsible, professors and the children) and of some practical educative referring to the schooling of the child, leaving of estimated of that the school is a democratic space, with equality of rights and the duties. Mediated for cultural a historical boarding, one searched to interpret the pertaining to school and familiar context of the participants, by means of a counterpoint with the studied bibliography, being this presented throughout the work. The research was of qualitative character, the data had been collected by means of comment in two classrooms, one of the third and one of the room year. Half-structuralized interviews had been made, that had been recorded e, later, transcribing. The environment of the research was a public school of the basic education of a city of the interior of the State of São Paulo, that received children proceeding from families of the urban popular classrooms. The results of the analysis of the data point that the professors present a vision of ideal model of family and pupil that does not correspond to the reality of the context of these and of the new nomenclatures of the familiar order... Las músicas populares urbanas participan en la construcción, transmisión y deconstrucción de las imágenes de género. Es trascendental comprender su influencia entre los oyentes. Para ello, realizamos una investigación basada en encuestas a jóvenes universitarios que mostró la permanencia de prejuicios y una escasa capacidad crítica, lo que refuerza algunas de las hipótesis de la sociología de la música de T. W. Adorno y plantea cuestiones importantes para la musicología feminista. Es necesario tener conciencia de la existencia de estos prejuicios si pretendemos una educación emancipatoria.

This article is based on the sociological and historical approach of the origin of the university entrance exams in Brazil and shows the preparatory courses (preps) expanding simultaneously as a strategy of the lower and middle classes to get their children into university. Thus, the paradox of an antipedagogical practice becomes an essential condition for students to have access to prestigious university courses, what justifi es the historical movement by the lower and middle classes to appropriate this practice.. We propose that measures are taken to improve the results of important affi rmative actions that aim to enable students to enter university, as well as highlight Professional Guidance as a necessary resource which constitutes a new challenge in this fi eld of action.

One of the interests of leisure is social and involves the festival. The holidays can be of different types and occur in different places, having lots of functions as the union of those involved, the development of creativity, fun and identification with the culture. The festivities are part of the play culture. The school, being an environment that deals directly and indirectly with the culture of organized behavior and appreciation of the discipline, often in second person through the formation of relationships, cultural transmission and access to the traditions of the groups around it. The entertainment component of culture in the school also finds himself sidelined in a society of work and a school that educates more to the labor market. The parties almost do not occur at school and when they happen, are given in order to make profits and sell consumer goods, apart from values that are intrinsic. In this study the objective was to deepen the study of parties, given that these are elements provides the establishment of the identity of a group of groups and of each individuals. When it comes to educating people, parties contributed to the emancipation of the human being which is cultural. Was developed a study in the field about the theme parties at the school, to understand whether and how it is being taught in schools, and what is its real importance for teachers and students, since we consider it fundamental to the development of culture and leisure culture of individuals. For this, we conducted a qualitative study based on a field research, using as a tool for collecting a semi-structured interviews with 52 students from 6th grade (7 years) from two schools at Ibitinga-SP, since one of them was a public school and the other a private school.
