Report of the Interim Flood Control Committee : to Governor Robert D. Blue for submission to the fifty-third General Assembly,1948

This report includes discussions of the general subject of water resources and flood control, including the presentation of facts and arguments which were considered in the drafting of this report. It also discusses various bills presented and a brief explanation of each bill.

Alguns aspectes formals de la traducció llatina de l'Alcorà de Robert de Ketton (ca. 1141-1143) i la seva relació amb el text original àrab

En el marc de la història de la transmissió escrita de l'Alcorà (al-Qur'an), l'article fa referència a l'evolució de la forma i l'estructura del text en relació amb l'oralitat del missatge original, a l'existència de diferents tradicions textuals en el si de la comunitat islàmica i al seu reflex en les traduccions. L'atenció se centra, sobretot, en la primera traducció sencera coneguda de l'Alcorà al llatí, realitzada per Robert de Ketton (ca. 1141-1143) a la Vall de l'Ebre, i se'n destaca el valor documental com a testimoni contemporani d'una tradició magribina i andalusina de tractament del text.

Maladie d'Osgood-Schlatter [Osgood-Schlatter disease]

Osgood-Schlatter disease is a painful affection of the knee which touches particularly the active teenagers. Etiology of this frequent affection is unknown. This disease appears as an anterior knee pain and swelling started and worsened by the sports activities. Diagnosis is especially clinical. X-Rays, ultrasounds or IRM are not necessary for the diagnosis. Treatment is based on eviction of sports, analgesics and sometimes physiotherapy. Surgery is rarely proposed. Knee pain stops at the end of the growth. Long-term outcome is good for the majority of the patients. Some studies suggest a patella alta at the end of the growth, without an established correlation with knee arthritis.
