História e Literatura: escritos coloniais de fins do século XVI e início do século XVII

In this article, we analyze the works of Pero de Magalhães Gândavo in what we name colonial writings. They are texts written between the late 16 th century and the early 17th century. Gândavo’s intention, as with the other colonial writers, is to defend the interests of the settlers. With that, we counter historiography in general and Brazilian historiography in particular, which sees them as authors identified with metropolitan interests.

Registrar oralidades, analisar narrativas: sobre pressupostos da História Oral em Educação Matemática

The discussion about some features of the general framework which allows the use of Oral History in Mathematics Education is the main theme of this paper. Also the conception about what Oral History is, its theoretical baskgrounds, some of its purposes and the range of its results to Math Education research community are considered, as well the link between such method and the narratives, focusing what narratives are and how narratives can be analysed. A brief description of specific themes and researches developed in such approach, in Brazil, ends this article.

História da matemática e teatro nas aulas sobre Teorema de Tales: um script proposto

This study will present the results of an investigation of how the history of mathematics and theater can contribute to the construction of mathematical knowledge of students in the 9th year of elementary school, through the experience, preparation and execution of a play, beyond presentation of the script. This brings a historical approach, defining space and time of events, putting the reader and viewer to do the route in the biography of Thales of Miletus (624-546 a.C), creating situations that led to the study and discussion of the content related to the episode possible to measure the height of the pyramid Khufu and the Theorem of Thales. That said, the pedagogical proposal implemented in this work was based on theoretical and methodological assumptions of the History of Mathematics and Theatre, drawing upon authors such as Mendes (2006), Miguel (1993), Gutierre (2010), Desgrandes (2011), Cabral (2012). Regarding the methodological procedures used qualitative research because it responds to particular issues, analyzing and interpreting the data generated in the research field. As methodological tools we have used participant observation, the questionnaire given to the students, field diary and dissertativos texts produced by students. The processing and analysis of data collected through the questionnaires were organized, classified and quantified in tables and graphs for easy viewing, interpretation, understanding and analysis of data. Data analysis corroborated our hypothesis and contributed to improving the use and display of the play as a motivating activity in mathematics classrooms. Thus, we consider that the script developed, ie the educational product proposed will bring significant contributions to the teaching of Mathematics in Primary Education

Correspondências científicas como uma relação didática entre história e ensino de matemática: o exemplo das cartas de Euler a uma princesa da Alemanha

Lettres àune Princesse d'Allemagne sur divers sujets de physique et de philosophie (Letters to a Princess of Germany on various topics of physics and philosophy) is the work taken as an object of study of this thesis. It is a literary success written in the eighteenth century by the Swiss mathematician and physicist Leonhard Paul Euler (1707-1783) in order to meet a request from the Prussian king, Frederick II, the Great (1712-1786) to accept to guide the intellectual education of his niece, the young princess Anhalt-Dessau (1745-1808). The method of teaching and learning through letters elected to the education of the German monarch resulted in a collection of 234 matches in which Euler theory is about music, Philosophy, Mechanics, Optics, Astronomy, Theology and Ethics among others. The research seeks to point out mathematical content contained in this reference work based on the exploitation and adaptation of original historical works as an articulator of development activities for teaching mathematics in basic education and in accordance with the National Curriculum Parameters of Mathematics (NCP) work. The general objective point out the limits and didactic potential of Lettres à une Princesse d'Allemagne sur divers sujets de physique et de philosophie as a source of support for teachers of basic education in developing activities for teaching mathematics. The discussions raised point to concrete possibilities of entanglement between the extracted mathematical content of the bulge of the work with current teaching methodologies from resizing the use of letters according to Freire's pedagogical perspective of the correspondence, and especially the use of new communication channels in the century XXI, both aimed at dialogue and approximation between those who write and those who read.

História da cultura e das artes: conteúdo musical crúzio conimbricense

O presente trabalho pretende dar um contributo na divulgação do património musical português dos séculos XVI e XVII, partindo da confluência das várias perspectivas musicais que cruzaram o Mosteiro de Santa Cruz de Coimbra durante este período. Apresenta-se desta forma o potencial pedagógico da instituição, bem como os compositores a ela associados no âmbito da História da Música, no que diz respeito ao ensino vocacional. Contém a exploração de algumas obras do reportório cuja observação constituirá, desejavelmente, motivo de reflexão, contribuindo para a sua divulgação, como elemento distintivo e enriquecedor.

A Fábrica da Pólvora de Barcarena : história e evolução tecnológica entre os séculos XVI e XX

A utilização da pólvora negra em Portugal está documentada desde o reinado de D. Fernando, conhecendo-se referências a polvoristas a partir de meados do século XV. De entre as primitivas oficinas da pólvora referenciadas no século XVI, destaca-se a de Barcarena. Com a expansão ultramarina, aumentou a importância desta unidade, o que não obstou a que novas fábricas se fossem instalando em estabelecimentos ultramarinos portugueses, principalmente na índia e no Brasil. Apresenta-se a evolução tecnológica da Fábrica da Pólvora de Barcarena, com especial realce para a monumental fábrica construída por António Cremer (1729) e para as inovações nela introduzidas por Bartolomeu da Costa, nos finais do século XVIII. Referem-se também as posteriores ampliações recebidas pela Fábrica e a utilização de novas formas de energia, a do vapor de água e a energia eléctrica, esta produzida em duas centrais Diesel-eléctricas e numa central hidroeléctrica, instaladas entre 1924 e 1929. Em 1988 encerrou a Fábrica e em 1998 foi criado o Museu da Pólvora Negra de Barcarena, cuja concepção e constituição são sumariamente apresentadas.

ANÁLISE SÓCIO-ESPACIAL DE SÃO FRANCISCO DO SUL-SC/ BRASIL

O município de São Francisco do Sul está localizado na região Nordeste do estado de Santa Catarina, Sul do Brasil. A ocupação desta ilha nos leva ao século XVI com a chegada da expedição de Binot Paulmier de Gonneville em 1504; embora tenham sido os franceses os primeiros a chegar, foram os portugueses que a povoaram. Até meados do século XX, a atividade econômica estava ligada principalmente a agricultura. O grande impulso econômico ocorreu apartir de 1955, com a ampliação do porto e a instalação do terminal da PETROBRÁS (1977). O objetivo da pesquisa busca descrever ao longo da história o desenvolvimento local. Utilizou-se como linha teórica a formação sócio-espacial, que a categoria de formação social como base para se pensar o espaço, favorecendo o aprofundamento das reflexões do local. Os resultados obtidos mostraram que a evolução econômica de São Francisco do Sul, sustentada pela agricultura, transformou-se pelo crescimento das atividades de serviços, ligadas diretamente ao porto e ao turismo. Atualmente busca-se também a dinamização fabril, que ainda é incipiente.
