This study presents the first results from Brazil using SF6 tracer technique adapted from cattle to evaluate the capability of condensed tannin (CT) present in three tropical legume forages, Leucaena leucocephala (LEU), Styzolobium aterrimum (STA), and Mimosa caesalpiniaefolia Benth (MIM) to reduce enteric CH4 production in Santa Ins sheep. Twelve male lambs [27.88 +/- 2.85 kg body weight (BW)] were allocated in individual metabolic cages for 20-day adaptation followed by 6 days for measuring dry matter intake (DMI) and CH4 emission. All lambs received water, mineral supplement, and Cynodon dactylon v. coast-cross hay ad libitum. The treatments consisted of soybean meal (710 g/kg) and ground corn (290 g/kg) [control (CON)]; soybean meal (150 g/kg), ground corn (30 g/kg), and Leucaena hay (820 g/kg) (LEU); soybean meal (160 g/kg), ground corn (150 g/kg), and Mucuna hay (690 g/kg) (STA); and soybean meal (280 g/kg), ground corn (190 g/kg), and Mimosa hay (530 g/kg) (MIM); all calculated to provide 40 g/kg CT (except for CON). DMI (in grams of DMI per kilogram BW per day) was lower for LEU (22.0) than CON (29.3), STA (31.2), and MIM (31.6). The LEU group showed emission of 7.8 g CH4/day, significantly lower than CON (10.5 g CH4/day), STA (10.4 g CH4/day), and MIM (11.3 g CH4/day). However, when the CH4 emission per DMI was considered, there were no significant differences among treatments (0.37, 0.36, 0.33, and 0.35 g CH4/g DMI/kg BW/day, respectively, for CON, LEU, STA, and MIM). The sheep receiving STA had shown a tendency (p = 0.15) to reduce methane emission when compared to the CON group. Therefore, it is suggested that tropical tanniniferous legumes may have potential to reduce CH4 emission in sheep, but more research is warranted to confirm these results.

The technological expansion and market manufactured wood as wood paneling makes the research of processes involving this material are increasingly necessary . The present study examines the milling process MDF - fiberboard with average density endmill with helical teeth , with the analysis of the surface finish by evaluating the surface roughness ( Ra) and analysis of the power consumption . We analyzed three types of cuts in milling : concordant , discordant , and cut top . We used 5 rpm (6000 , 8000 , 10000 , 12000 and 14000 RPM) , establishing five-speed cutting, 301 , 402 ,502, 603 and 703 m / min respectively. Five forward speeds and 4, 6, 8, 10 and 12 m / min. Each condition was repeated six times , totaling 180 tests. The results of roughness were obtained from rugosimeter data and the power consumption were obtained by Hall-effect sensor . These results were statistically analyzed using analysis of variance and Tukey test . Finally it was concluded that there are few significant differences between the results themselves vary roughness when cutting speeds and feed and no major differences in power consumption . The best surface quality and lower power consumption were for cutting speed of 703 m / min . To varying forward speed , the speed of 4 m / min showed better surface quality and lower power consumption

The term “independent media art” expresses an artistic-scientific process performed in the Art- Science Communication interface presented as Final Paper in Visual Arts baccalaureate modality. The first part consists in gather, in artisticscientific research, an overview of the production of independent comics, mainly in Brazil, as well as some of the manifestations that were derived from it. The identification is made from bibliographical and iconographical survey, both printed and virtual materials. The second part discusses the production of a comic of my own - Imperfect Lives - published independently. This work is inserted in the line of research “Artistic Processes and Procedures” of the Department of Fine Arts of the Art Institute of UNESP and describes: Creative process, production, dissemination and influences. The third and final section brings together the work done by me during the four-year course, whose theme has some relation with comics. Experiments are in various media, using one or another characteristic intrinsic to them. The monography includes as an appendix a copy of each issue of the fanzine Imperfect Lives. The methodology used was Freinetiana Educational Cybernetics, developed in the research group “Art media and Videoclip”, whose leading advisor is the one from this Final Paper. The result and discussion of the artistic research and scientific monography were reported in the following versions: PDF File repository for dissemination in the virtual library of the Institute of Arts. Hardcover version for physical collection in the Library of the Institute of Arts. Paper version for the committee. This research is part of the work that I developed as a student researcher participating in the project Pedagogical practice of group work at school: rescue of narrative and teachers´ knowledge. The project was developed in a Rio Claro City Public school (2010-2011).I weekly attended that school for two years, following the pedagogical work of a teacher. During this period, her practices caught my attention, especially the way that she looked at the social context and the life stories of her students. For this reason, I propose to develop a qualitative research with the objective of examining the pedagogical practice of a elementary school teacher (initial series) and understand the extent to which her practices favor the emancipation of students. I intend to extend/apply the concept of emancipation from the theoretical perspective of Paulo Freire. The data will be obtained from the following documents: my records (notebook 1-2010 and notebook 2-2011); letters elaborated by me and sent to the teacher; letters written by the teacher and sent to me; articles produced by this teacher and her work plans. The research intends to contribute to the legitimacy of teacher knowledge in daily school

Due to the rapid development of some species such as pine and eucalyptus and a growing demand for raw materials, timber, there was a need for detailed studies to better use and higher quality in products derived from wood. In order to contribute to to better utilization of wood ,this study aims to analyze the quality of the wood surface after machining Corymbia citrodora around, with varying feed rates (40, 70, 100 mm/mim), shear rate (1.88, 2.19, 2.51 m/s) and with the use of inserts for turning new and used (cemented carbide). 18 were used bodies and each body was made three different assays for each test were a total of 54 tests three replicates. This study will also addres the analysis of power consumption for each of the tests. With the results obtained through experiments, including the surface roughness of parts and power consumption for each test, we try to evaluate the power consumption in machining with the variations in cutting speed and feed, with two tools carbide

Com base em quatro poemas da autora afro-americana contemporânea Harryette Mullen, por mim traduzidos para o português, e nas questões suscitadas por sua obra, este trabalho investiga as seguintes questões: quais seriam os desafios de se traduzir sua poesia, levando-se em consideração os lugares discursivos dos leitores identificados ou não com a estética literária afro-brasileira? Essa (não-) identificação exerceria alguma influência no modo como sua poesia poderia ser lida em tradução? Assim, neste trabalho, busca-se contrastar as questões raciais e estéticas que fundamentam a visão de Mullen a respeito de sua poesia e de seu público-leitor (imaginado) com as questões de público-alvo, contextualmente diversas, que minhas traduções de seus poemas requerem “imaginar” no âmbito das relações sócio-raciais brasileiras.

This paper addresses issues regarding my translation of selected poems by Harryette Mullen, a rising African-American contemporary poet, whose dense poetry works on the black oral tradition, the experimentalism of writing, the (African-American) pop music, in addition to delving into issues such as the representation of (black) female sexuality. One of the complex aspects of her poetry is the notion of miscegenation, conceived as an aesthetic argument and as a constitutive condition of the identity of multiracial Americans. This concept establishes a textuality that questions the accessible intelligibility generally expected from black American poetry, insofar as a mosaic of dissonant voices are brought to light in her text, which makes it difficult to categorize. In Brazil, especially among politically engaged Afro-Brazilians, there has been criticism towards the praise of miscegenation, since the latter has been considered to support of the myth of racial democracy. Building on these aspects, we investigate the extent to which it is a challenge to translate her poetry – based on miscegenation and hybridity as aesthetic constructs – especially when taking into account the discursive locus of readers identified with an Afro-Brazilian aesthetic, particularly critical of miscegenation. From the point of view of translation, we evaluate the extent to which her poetry could be read by the predominant cultural discourse in Brazil, inclined to favor miscegenation as an integral concept of national identity, as a seductively experimental poetry. In view of this, one wonders whether this perspective makes hers poetry “less black” for Afro-Brazilian literary standards.

Writing about philosophical practice with children requires a memory of the body, a body that holds on to what is important to itself. My memory begins with my contact with the ideas of Matthew Lipman and the new ideas brought by his words, and continues with the need to change some of them and assign different meanings to others. Since my reading of the thinkers of the so called “Frankfurt School,” some words have taken new meanings to me, and have informed the way I now understand the practice of philosophy with children and its relationship to issues like educational “formation,” as well as others. Philosophical practice is unique, and needs to be thought, felt, and experienced; it has its own time and involves the construction and transformation of subjectivity itself. As such, to search for words in philosophy means to chose those words that can help us make sense and give meaning of what we do and think, allowing us to work with our thinking and with its forms of expression, beyond its technical dimension. In this sense, the usual emphasis of philosophy in its more technical dimension leads to an impoverishment of formation as experience, for the latter, which is a fundamental dimension of our lives, is rendered secondary. This has implications for the relationship between adults and children. When they reduce philosophy to a study of the formal capacity of thinking, teachers put students in the condition of a minority, and therefore in some way also put themselves in such a condition. In this paper, the activity of writing - as a way of expressing thought - allows me to conduct a tour my own subjectivity, and to encounter the words that express the meanings that inform what I think and do about my practice with philosophical novels, and about the value of generating texts related to philosophical practice, formation and assessment.

This paper focuses on the practice of writing in the initial training. The research was conducted from an autobiographical perspective. The instruments used for data collection were the writings produced by me during my participation in the Institutional Scholarship Project Introduction to Teaching (Pibid) and my participation in the extension project Training Group: Dialogue and Otherness, those writings that bring my formative experience as a future teacher. The objectives was to analyze the writings produced by me in these contexts and through this analysis, understand what the issues that I problematized and what knowledge I was building from the experiences lived in the school context and in the university context. In view of understand the writing practices promoted in initial training, I have developed a literature search in the Annals of ENDIPE (National Meeting of Teaching and Teaching Practice) 2008, 2010 and 2012. This research seeks to contribute to the recognition of the training capability of autobiographical teaching writing

Water-miscible ionic liquids (ILs) may be salted out using kosmotropic salts such as potassium phosphate (K3PO4) to form salt-salt aqueous biphasic systems (ABS). The effect of temperature on these systems has been studied using phase diagrams and it is observed that the degree of binodal shift decreases (requiring lower IL and kosmotropic salt concentrations) with the increase of temperature following the trend [C(4)mim]Cl > [C(4)py]Cl > [C(4)mmim] Cl > [N-4444]Cl. This trend can be correlated with the decreasing hydrogen bonding abilities of each salt. The phase behavior was also interpreted on the basis of critical solution temperature behavior of pure aqueous ionic liquid solutions. Additionally, the distribution of alcohols in these systems was studied as a function of temperature and it was found that the distribution ratios did not change with changes in temperature. The Gibbs energy of transfer of a methylene group in these systems and correlation to tie-line length was also determined. It was concluded that while the miscibility of alcohols increases in the ILs with increasing temperature, phase divergence in the aqueous biphasic system decreases, and thus these competing forces tend to cancel each other out for small polar molecules. A comparison is provided for the response to temperature in the currently studied salt-salt systems and analogous ABS formed by the addition of hydrophilic polymers to kosmotropic salts (polymer-salt) or other polymers (polymer-polymer).
