Anàlisi i disseny d'una aplicació web per a un banc del temps

Els bancs del temps són eines que permeten l'intercanvi de serveis entre persones d'una mateixa localització geogràfica. El tret més característic és que aquest serveis s'intercanvien sense utilitzar diners, agafant el temps propi d'una persona com a moneda de canvi. Es poden intercanviar tot tipus de serveis: passejar gossos, fer companyia a persones majors, classes de repàs, assessorament informàtic, etc. Aquest projecte proposa la creació d'un portal web que permeti i gestioni el funcionament d'un banc del temps, tant a nivell d'usuari com a nivell d'administració.

Utilisation of Statistics in Intelligent Web Applications

Web-portaalien aiheenmukaista luokittelua voidaan hyödyntää tunnistamaan käyttäjän kiinnostuksen kohteet keräämällä tilastotietoa hänen selaustottumuksistaan eri kategorioissa. Tämä diplomityö käsittelee web-sovelluksien osa-alueita, joissa kerättyä tilastotietoa voidaan hyödyntää personalisoinnissa. Yleisperiaatteet sisällön personalisoinnista, Internet-mainostamisesta ja tiedonhausta selitetään matemaattisia malleja käyttäen. Lisäksi työssä kuvaillaan yleisluontoiset ominaisuudet web-portaaleista sekä tilastotiedon keräämiseen liittyvät seikat.

Infrastructure Provisioning in Web Portals

Web portaalit tarjoavat ainutlaatuisia apuvälineitä erilaisien sisältöjen luomiseksi, monenlaisia navigointipolkuja, henkilökohtaisia sivuja ja turvapalveluja. Portaali on monimutkainen systeemi, joka sisältää monta yhteistyötä tekevää komponenttia, yleensä toteutuu valmiiksi tehdyillä ongelmistoilla. Tämä tutkimus kansittelee portaalin toteutusta IBM/Tivolin tuotteella. Portaalin komponenttien integraatio on kriittinen koko järjestelmä arkkitehtuurille ja saattaa vaatia lisää ohjelmistokehittelyä. Tutkimuksen ensisijainen tavoite on kehittää räätälöityä komponenttia kahta portaali-alijärjestelmä varten, tilaaja - turvapalvelu. Tutkimuksessa Tivoli Personalized Services Manager (TPSM) ja Tivoli SecureWay Policy Director (PD) on tutkittu. Integraatio sisältää TPSM tietokaunan ja PD User Registry tiedon synkronisointia. Integraatio-ohjelmisto on suunniteltu ja tehty olemassaoloevien alijärjestelmien perusteella.

Servicio Web para gestión de juego cooperativo sobre desarrollo humano

Este Proyecto Fin de Carrera (PFC) tiene como objetivos el análisis, diseño e implementación de un sistema web que permita a los usuarios familiarizarse con el Índice de Desarrollo Humano (IDH), publicado anualmente por Naciones Unidas, ofreciendo un servicio de gestión y descarga de una aplicación móvil relacionada con dicho índice. La aplicación móvil es un juego educativo basado en preguntas sobre el IDH de los países, desarrollada en paralelo con este proyecto. El servicio web implementado en este proyecto facilita tanto la descarga, administración y actualización de contenidos como la interacción entre los usuarios. El sistema está formado por un servidor web, una base de datos de usuarios y contenidos y un portal web desde el cual puede descargarse la aplicación móvil, realizar consultas sobre estadísticas de juego y conocer el IDH sin necesidad de jugar. El buscador avanzado que ha sido desarrollado para conocer el IDH permite al usuario adquirir destrezas y entrenarse por sí solo para mejorar sus resultados de juego. Los administradores del sistema tienen la capacidad de gestionar el contenido del portal, los usuarios que solicitan darse de alta y la funcionalidad ofrecida, es decir, actualización del juego, foros y noticias. La instalación del sistema implementado en un servidor web ha permitido su verificación exitosa así como la provisión del servicio de información y sensibilización sobre el IDH, actualizado mediante la información de Naciones Unidas, motivación original del proyecto. ABSTRACT This Final Year Project takes as targets the analysis, design and implementation of a web system that allows to the users to familiarize with the Human Development Index (HDI), published annually by United Nations, offering a service of management and download a mobile application associated with that index. The mobile application is an educational game based on questions on the IDH of the countries, developed in parallel with this project. The web service implemented by means of this Project facilitates download, administration and update of contents and the interaction between the users across the cooperative game. The system consists of a web server, a database of users and content and a web portal from which you can download the mobile application, perform queries on game statistics, or discover the HDI without need for play. The advanced search engine that has been developed for the HDI allows the user to purchase and train for skills to improve their game results. System administrators have the ability to manage the content of the portal, users requesting register and the functionality offered, i.e., update to the game, forums and news. The installation of the system that was implemented has allowed successful verification and the provision of an information and awareness on the HDI, updated with the information from the United Nations, original motivation of the project.

Ampliación de un portal Wordpress para el diseño de cursos basados en la metodología PBL

La metodología PBL propone el aprendizaje basado en problemas. A grandes rasgos sugiere que el estudiante sea el protagonista de su propio aprendizaje mediante el desarrollo de proyectos. Con esa idea, el grupo de innovación educativa DMAE-DIA (Desarrollo de nuevas Metodologías de Aprendizaje/Evaluación del Departamento de Informática Aplicada), comenzó la construcción de un portal web para mostrar los principios de dicha metodología, que permitiese a los usuarios del mismo conocerla y aprender a utilizarla en un entorno colaborativo. El objetivo de este trabajo es ampliar este portal para que los usuarios sean capaces de crear, eliminar y mantener sus propios proyectos para posteriormente utilizarlos como base para su práctica docente. El trabajo se ha planteado siguiendo el paradigma de la orientación a objetos, mediante la metodología UML y siguiendo el ciclo de vida del software y se ha implementado utilizando como base el CMS Wordpress y desarrollando con los lenguajes que más adelante se especificarán. Wordpress por su parte es un sistema de gestión de contenidos dotado de gran potencia que permite, de una manera muy sencilla, construir entornos web con el mínimo esfuerzo. ABSTRACT The PBL methodology proposed problem-based learning. Roughly suggests that the student is the protagonist of their own learning by developing projects. With that, the group of educational innovation DMAE-DIA (Development of new Learning/Assessment methodologies, Department of Applied Computing) began building a web portal to show the principles of this methodology, which would allow users to know and learn to use it in a collaborative environment. The aim of this work is to extend this website so that users are able to create, delete and maintain their own projects for later use as the basis for their teaching practice. The work has been raised following the paradigm of object orientation, by following the UML methodology and software life cycle and has been implemented using as a basis the CMS Wordpress and developed with the languages that will be specified later. Meanwhile Wordpress is a content management system endowed with great power that allows,in a very simple way to build web environments with minimal effort.

Desarrollo de un portal de información y venta de vehículos siguiendo la metodología J. December

En este Proyecto Fin de Carrera se va a llevar a cabo el desarrollo e implementación de un portal web orientado a la compra venta de vehículos industriales, mediante el uso de la metodología John December. A lo largo del proyecto, se expondrá porqué es necesario el uso de metodologías y el motivo de haber seleccionado John December de entre las diferentes metodologías existentes en la actualidad. Una vez definido el uso de la metodología, pasaremos a desarrollar cada una de las fases de las que se compone aplicándolas de una manera práctica sobre nuestro portal. Dentro de estas fases detallaremos qué herramientas se han usado para llevarlas a cabo, ya que December no provee herramientas como tal. Así mismo, dentro del proceso de llevar a cabo el proyecto, se incluirá algún elemento más no definido dentro de la metodología, como los Casos de Prueba ya que se han considerado necesarios para llegar correctamente a los objetivos planteados. Finalmente, expondremos las conclusiones extraídas del desarrollo llevado a cabo. Summary This Proyecto Final de Carrera will carry out the development and implementation of a web portal oriented to purchase and sale of industrial vehicles, using the methodology John December. Throughout the project, it will expose that is necessary the use of methodologies and the reason for having selected John December from the different methodologies that exists currently. Once the use of the methodology would be defined, we will pass to develop each of the phases that it is composed by applying each in a practical way to our website. Within these phases, we will detail that tools have been used to carry them out, since December does not provide tools as such. Likewise, within the process of carrying out this project, will include some element that are not defined within the methodology, as Test Cases since they have been considered necessary to properly reach to the projected objectives. Finally, we will show the conclusions extracted from the development carried out.

Developing a forest data portal to support multi-scale decision making

Forests play a pivotal role in timber production, maintenance and development of biodiversity and in carbon sequestration and storage in the context of the Kyoto Protocol. Policy makers and forest experts therefore require reliable information on forest extent, type and change for management, planning and modeling purposes. It is becoming increasingly clear that such forest information is frequently inconsistent and unharmonised between countries and continents. This research paper presents a forest information portal that has been developed in line with the GEOSS and INSPIRE frameworks. The web portal provides access to forest resources data at a variety of spatial scales, from global through to regional and local, as well as providing analytical capabilities for monitoring and validating forest change. The system also allows for the utilisation of forest data and processing services within other thematic areas. The web portal has been developed using open standards to facilitate accessibility, interoperability and data transfer.

An infrastructure for semantic web portals

This paper presents our Semantic Web portal infrastructure, which focuses on how to enhance knowledge access in traditional Web portals by gathering and exploiting semantic metadata. Special attention is paid to three important issues that affect the performance of knowledge access: i) high quality metadata acquisition, which concerns how to ensure high quality while gathering semantic metadata from heterogeneous data sources; ii) semantic search, which addresses how to meet the information querying needs of ordinary end users who are not necessarily familiar with the problem domain or the supported query language; and iii) semantic browsing, which concerns how to help users understand and explore the problem domain.

Efeitos da alteração do limite de exposição ocupacional à sílica cristalina no processo de seleção de respiradores.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the respiratory protective device selection process and to identify changes in this process when an exposure limit value is updated. Two previous studies conducted in mining industries in the metropolitan area of Sao Paulo were put through the respiratory protective device selection process. The protection factors of the equipment provided by the companies were compared with the required protection factors and with the FUNDACENTRO`s respiratory protection program. The results showed that until 2005, some companies were providing inadequate protection, and after the change in crystalline silica exposure limit value in 2006, all the analyzed companies were providing inadequate respirators. This study suggests that there is an opportunity to create a web portal, where the selection process can be done by the companies with updated information.

A university extension course in leprosy: telemedicine in the Amazon for primary healthcare

There is a high prevalence of leprosy in the Amazon region of Brazil. We have developed a distance education course in leprosy for training staff of the Family Health Teams (FHTs). The course was made available through a web portal. Tele-educational resources were mediated by professors and coordinators, and included the use of theoretical content available through the web, discussion lists, Internet chat, activity diaries, 3-D video animations (Virtual Human on Leprosy), classes in video streaming and case simulation. Sixty-five FHT staff members were enrolled. All of them completed the course and 47 participants received a certificate at the end of the course. At the end of the course, 48 course-evaluation questionnaires were answered. A total of 47 participants (98%) considered the course as excellent. The results demonstrate the feasibility of an interactive, tele-education model as an educational resource for staff in isolated regions. Improvements in diagnostic skills should increase diagnostic suspicion of leprosy and may contribute to early detection.

Sistema de recolha e execução de rotas (GPS) e partilha em rede social RecGPS

A popularização dos PDA (Personal Data Assistant ) originou um aumento das suas capacidades e funcionalidades, nomeadamente a inclusão de sistemas de posicionamento global(GPS - Global Positioning System ). Tendo como objectivo o aproveitamento das capacidades deste tipo de dispositivos surge o sistema RecGPS. O RecGPS é um pacote de aplicações para recolha, gestão, análise e partilha de percursos (rotas). A recolha e armazenamento das rotas é efectuada através de uma aplicação instalada no PDA com recurso à funcionalidade GPS do mesmo. A gestão e análise das rotas pode ser efectuada nas aplicações PDA e web, sendo a partilha efectuada através de aplicação web (portal/rede social). A colecção de rotas tanto pode ser armazenada no dispositivo como através da aplicação web. Ao nível do PDA para além da criação de novas rotas é possível executar as rotas existentes, efectuando recolha de dados que permitem a comparação com as execuções anteriores. A rede social permite a partilha de rotas e fomenta a discussão dos utilizadores sobre as mesmas. Para permitir a veri cação das capacidades da aplicação para PDA são efectuados testes. Tendo por base um conjunto de amostras são obtidos resultados através da aplicação e efectuada a sua comparação.

Projecte COMMusic

Construcció d'un portal Web per a COMMusic, una famosa empresa de venda de música per Internet. Aquest portal web haurà de permetre l'accés a tres tipus d'usuaris: públic en general, socis i empleats de la botiga. La implementació de tota l'aplicació, ha estat realitzada en el llenguatge Java. S'ha obtat per seguir una arquitectura J2EE, d'aquesta manera ens ha permès realitzar una aplicació robusta, escalable i altament reutilitzable.
