Infrastructure Provisioning in Web Portals

Web portaalit tarjoavat ainutlaatuisia apuvälineitä erilaisien sisältöjen luomiseksi, monenlaisia navigointipolkuja, henkilökohtaisia sivuja ja turvapalveluja. Portaali on monimutkainen systeemi, joka sisältää monta yhteistyötä tekevää komponenttia, yleensä toteutuu valmiiksi tehdyillä ongelmistoilla. Tämä tutkimus kansittelee portaalin toteutusta IBM/Tivolin tuotteella. Portaalin komponenttien integraatio on kriittinen koko järjestelmä arkkitehtuurille ja saattaa vaatia lisää ohjelmistokehittelyä. Tutkimuksen ensisijainen tavoite on kehittää räätälöityä komponenttia kahta portaali-alijärjestelmä varten, tilaaja - turvapalvelu. Tutkimuksessa Tivoli Personalized Services Manager (TPSM) ja Tivoli SecureWay Policy Director (PD) on tutkittu. Integraatio sisältää TPSM tietokaunan ja PD User Registry tiedon synkronisointia. Integraatio-ohjelmisto on suunniteltu ja tehty olemassaoloevien alijärjestelmien perusteella.

Web portal provides unique facilities for aggregating huge amounts of diverse content, rich navigation through the content, personalisation and security services. A portal is a complex system, which contains many cooperating components usually implemented by off-the-shelf software. This study considers implementation of the portal based on the IBM/Tivoli product family. Integration of the portal components is critical for the complete system architecture and may require additional development efforts. The primary goal of the study is to develop the provisioning software - custom-made component required for integration of two portal subsystems: subscriber management and security. Software products, implementing these subsystems - Tivoli Personalized Service Manager (TPSM) and Tivoli SecureWay Policy Director (PD) - were studied. Integration involves synchronisation of information in TPSM database and PD User Registry. Based on the existing subsystems' facilities the integration software has been designed and implemented.
