Planificación del vídeo accesible

Este documento trata los aspectos principales que deben tenerse en cuenta en la producción de un vídeo accesible. Se siguen las etapas de creación de productos audiovisuales (planificación, producción y difusión) y se dan pautas para permitir introducir la accesibilidad en cada una. Se repasa también la legislación principal sobre autorizaciones de grabación y se dan consejos sobre las licencias Creative Commons más recomendables para difundir el producto final.

La subtitulación amateur: la subtitulación amateur de series online: el caso de Lost

Debido a su gran repercusión y rápido ritmo de expansión, resulta obvio que la subtitulación amateur se configura como uno de los fenómenos más interesantes y novedosos de los estudios teóricos y prácticos de la investigación traductológica. Por este motivo, el objetivo principal del presente trabajo es el de conocer y estudiar más en profundidad dicho fenómeno, así como analizar la calidad de estos subtítulos con relación a los profesionales a través de un análisis comparativo de materiales reales de la serie norteamericana Lost. Por otro lado, y a la vista de las conclusiones, también se reflexiona acerca del estado actual de la subtitulación interlingüística, así como de la viabilidad de llevar a cabo una modernización de la disciplina mediante el establecimiento, renovación y diversificación de nuevas y existentes modalidades, junto con las repercusiones académicas, sociológicas y profesionales que ello acarrearía.

Informàtica sense computadors

Aquesta memòria descriu un procés d’ensenyament dels conceptes importants de l’informàtica a nois de 10-12 anys a partir de activitats divertides i senzilles sense utilitzar ordinadors. Es pretén cobrir una necessitat actual que és fomentar l’ interès per a l'enginyeria, ja el número d’estudiants interessats decreix a nivell mundial. A partir d’un projecte pedagògic paral·lel en anglès es va subtitular en català el vídeo de CSUnplugged, associació australiana que aporta les idees i propòsits per la creació del nostre. Aquesta subtitulació junt amb les activitats que al vídeo es representen han fet un projecte educatiu que creua etapes i coneixements.

Memoria de la elaboración de subtítulos para "Babel", primer capítulo de la serie documental Fry's Planet Word

Este trabajo pretende identificar algunas de las habilidades que un traductor audiovisual debe desarrollar, desde un punto de vista práctico, para ejercer la profesión, haciendo hincapié en el dominio del software específico para subtituladores. Esta memoria describe el proceso de ensayo y error llevado a cabo durante la elaboración de los subtítulos de un documental e identifica algunas de las dificultades con las que podemos encontrarnos al realizar un encargo de este tipo si trabajamos con programas de licencia gratuita, además de intentar aportar las soluciones correspondientes.

Sentence Compression with Supervised Machine Learning

The subject of the thesis is automatic sentence compression with machine learning, so that the compressed sentences remain both grammatical and retain their essential meaning. There are multiple possible uses for the compression of natural language sentences. In this thesis the focus is generation of television program subtitles, which often are compressed version of the original script of the program. The main part of the thesis consists of machine learning experiments for automatic sentence compression using different approaches to the problem. The machine learning methods used for this work are linear-chain conditional random fields and support vector machines. Also we take a look which automatic text analysis methods provide useful features for the task. The data used for machine learning is supplied by Lingsoft Inc. and consists of subtitles in both compressed an uncompressed form. The models are compared to a baseline system and comparisons are made both automatically and also using human evaluation, because of the potentially subjective nature of the output. The best result is achieved using a CRF - sequence classification using a rich feature set. All text analysis methods help classification and most useful method is morphological analysis. Tutkielman aihe on suomenkielisten lauseiden automaattinen tiivistäminen koneellisesti, niin että lyhennetyt lauseet säilyttävät olennaisen informaationsa ja pysyvät kieliopillisina. Luonnollisen kielen lauseiden tiivistämiselle on monta käyttötarkoitusta, mutta tässä tutkielmassa aihetta lähestytään television ohjelmien tekstittämisen kautta, johon käytännössä kuuluu alkuperäisen tekstin lyhentäminen televisioruudulle paremmin sopivaksi. Tutkielmassa kokeillaan erilaisia koneoppimismenetelmiä tekstin automaatiseen lyhentämiseen ja tarkastellaan miten hyvin erilaiset luonnollisen kielen analyysimenetelmät tuottavat informaatiota, joka auttaa näitä menetelmiä lyhentämään lauseita. Lisäksi tarkastellaan minkälainen lähestymistapa tuottaa parhaan lopputuloksen. Käytetyt koneoppimismenetelmät ovat tukivektorikone ja lineaarisen sekvenssin mallinen CRF. Koneoppimisen tukena käytetään tekstityksiä niiden eri käsittelyvaiheissa, jotka on saatu Lingsoft OY:ltä. Luotuja malleja vertaillaan Lopulta mallien lopputuloksia evaluoidaan automaattisesti ja koska teksti lopputuksena on jossain määrin subjektiivinen myös ihmisarviointiin perustuen. Vertailukohtana toimii kirjallisuudesta poimittu menetelmä. Tutkielman tuloksena paras lopputulos saadaan aikaan käyttäen CRF sekvenssi-luokittelijaa laajalla piirrejoukolla. Kaikki kokeillut teksin analyysimenetelmät auttavat luokittelussa, joista tärkeimmän panoksen antaa morfologinen analyysi.

Lost in mistranslation : A case study of Japanese TV-drama fansubs

「Fansubs」というのはファンが翻訳した字幕のことである。
 本稿では日本のテレビドラマの「Fansubs」の特徴を調べる為、3つのテレビドラマの日本 語の台詞と、ファンが作った字幕を比べている。原文のテキストが翻訳と字幕制作でどの ように変わったかを情報の増減や誤訳など9つのカテゴリーに分類し、字幕テキストを 分析した。作成したのがプロの翻訳者ではなく、または非常に短期間で作成されたこの 「Fansubs」は、公式のテレビやDVDの字幕よりも誤訳などのエラーが非常に多いことが分 かった。

The basic visions, assumptions and methods of the latter are appraised within its time-space stream. "Variations on a theme by Buchanan" or "The B- and F-Twist" could have been suggestive subtitles for this paper -- an embrycnic Economics of Knowledge, a complement to the Sociology of Knowledge.

Synchronizing Brazilian Sign Language (LIBRAS) on videos for Open Digital TV with educational purposes

The TV is a potential midia of communication that affects all social classes and it is available in 98% of Brazilian homes. It has been used as a distributor of educational materials since the 1950s. By 2016 the Open Digital TV (ODTV) in Brazil might cover the entire national territory, replacing the TV with analog signals. Concerns about accessibility for People with Special Needs (PSN) in that media have become more intense since the 1990s worldwide. In Brazil, it is estimated 24.6 million of PSN, 23% of them having some type of hearing loss. Of these, 2.9% are reported as deafs. Brazilian Sign Language (LIBRAS) is considered the first literacy language for deaf people in Brazil. In this context, this paper presents a proposal to facilitate the generation of educational content for ODTV based on two components. One is called SynchrLIBRAS and allows subtitles synchronization in Portuguese and a LIBRAS translator window of videos downloaded from the Web. The second component allows the visualization of this content through the Brazilian System of Digital TV and IPTV - environments that implement the middleware Ginga-NCL. The main focus of this paper is the presentation of the first component: SynchrLIBRAS. This proposal has educational purposes, contributing to teach LIBRAS to people who may collaborate with social inclusion of the deaf people.
