Représentations des religions traditionnelles africaines : analyse comparative de réseaux régionaux et disciplinaires africains et occidentaux

Ce mémoire présente une réflexion critique sur différentes représentations des religions traditionnelles africaines (RTA) au sein de réseaux régionaux et disciplinaires africains et occidentaux. Dans un premier temps, plusieurs formes de représentations (cartographiques et graphiques) issues de milieux universitaires occidentaux sont explorées pour comparer le traitement des RTA. Cette exploration soulève le problème des catégorisations employées qui ne rendent pas compte de la diversité, du dynamisme, de la complexité et de l’importance des RTA; et de manière plus générale, cette analyse révèle un problème sur le plan de l’équité dans les représentations des religions du monde. À l’aide d’une analyse conceptuelle, un certain nombre de catégories utilisées pour définir les RTA, notamment celle de « religion ethnique », sont remises en question, tout comme la notion de religion du monde (world religion). Dans un deuxième temps, les stratégies de recherche utilisées pour retracer des réseaux de chercheurs africains sont présentées. Différents outils et ressources documentaires occidentaux sont analysés et évalués selon qu’ils donnent accès ou non à la production de chercheurs africains sur les RTA. L’analyse de ces documents, laquelle est inspirée d’une démarche d’analyse de discours, révèle à quel point la contribution des chercheurs africains est peu prise en compte à l’intérieur du corpus sélectionné. Or, l’exploration de la situation actuelle de l’enseignement et de la recherche sur les RTA dans certaines universités du Nigéria met en lumière la somme importante de travaux sur les RTA et la diversité des canaux de communication. En somme, ce mémoire démontre à quel point le savoir est localisé et lié aux ancrages culturels, disciplinaires et idéologiques des chercheurs. Il ouvre, à partir de l’analyse de textes africains, sur la question plus large de la difficulté de la représentation de l’unité et des particularismes des RTA.

Eficiencia de los sistema de salud en los países de América Latina y del Caribe desde el indicador de esperanza de vida al nacer para los años 1990 y 2012 frente al gasto total en salud como porcentaje del producto interno bruto para el año 1995 y 2012 “una oportunidad de brenchmarking para el sistema de protección social colombiano”

Para los países emergentes en América Latina y El Caribe se hace necesario determinar la eficiencia de su sistema de salud para generar beneficios a su población desde el indicador de esperanza de vida al nacer y los recursos que se hacen uso desde Colombia en comparación con sus homólogos. Se evidencia que a pesar de Colombia poseer una economía fuerte durante el análisis de los dos momentos se mantiene en la tendencia general de los demás países y con los mismos resultados del indicador. A su vez se concluye que el momento en que se tomaron las decisiones de cambio del sistema de salud es un factor diferenciador en los resultados obtenidos como fue el caso de Costa Rica identificado con el de mejor desempeño en la relación Indicador de esperanza de vida al nacer y Porcentaje de gasto en salud como parte del Producto interno bruto.

Probabilistic forecasting: why model imperfection is a poison pill

This volume is a serious attempt to open up the subject of European philosophy of science to real thought, and provide the structural basis for the interdisciplinary development of its specialist fields, but also to provoke reflection on the idea of ‘European philosophy of science’. This efforts should foster a contemporaneous reflection on what might be meant by philosophy of science in Europe and European philosophy of science, and how in fact awareness of it could assist philosophers interpret and motivate their research through a stronger collective identity. The overarching aim is to set the background for a collaborative project organising, systematising, and ultimately forging an identity for, European philosophy of science by creating research structures and developing research networks across Europe to promote its development.

Single step preparation of meso-porous and reduced graphene oxide by gamma-ray irradiation in gaseous phase

A facile and highly efficient route to produce simultaneously porous and reduced graphene oxide by gamma ray irradiation in hydrogen is here demonstrated. Narrowly distributed nano-scale pores (average size of ∼3 nm and surface density >44,900 pore μm-2) were generated across 10 μm thick graphene oxide bucky-papers at a total irradiation dose of 500 kGy. The graphene oxide sheet reduction was confirmed to occur homogeneously across the structures by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy and Raman analysis. This one-step, catalyst-free, high penetration and through-put technique, offers great promises potential for the mass production of reduced graphene oxide from cheap graphene oxide. © 2013 Elsevier Ltd. Desafios da pós-graduação em Psicologia no Brasil

Com menos de cinco décadas de regulamentação, o sistema de pós-graduação no Brasil pode ser considerado bem sucedido do ponto de vista de suas realizações,embora inacabado quanto a algumas de suas feições fundamentais. Na área de Psicologia, o sistema compreende 64 Programas, 42 deles com o nível de Doutorado. Para responder de modo eficiente às demandas dirigidas à pós-graduação no Brasil,a área de Psicologia precisará enfrentar um conjunto de desafios, dentre os quais destacamos: a expansão da abrangência geográfica e temática, de modo a vencer assimetrias regionais e desequilíbrios na cobertura das subáreas e temas de pesquisa em Psicologia; o aperfeiçoamento do sistema de avaliação, a fim de contemplar a diversidade das estratégias de formação e da produção de conhecimento nas subáreas da Psicologia; a articulação dos diferentes resultados possíveis da pós-graduação em Psicologia, a partir do reconhecimento de que as bases para a produção de conhecimento na área variam quanto à imposição de demandas adicionais e à possibilidade de associar produção de conhecimento ao desenvolvimento de tecnologias de intervenção; e a formulação de políticas voltadas à qualificação do sistema, por exemplo, por meio do incremento das redes de pesquisa, da internacionalização dos grupos, da divulgação da produção científica e da formação metodológica mais sólida e ampla. Um diagnóstico mais cuidadoso desses e de outros desafios, em suas múltiplas dimensões, poderá conduzir a um aproveitamento mais eficiente das potencialidades dos grupos brasileiros de pesquisa em Psicologia, na formação de novos pesquisadores e na produção de conhecimento.

A relação afetiva com a leitura: memórias de professores

In the area of humanities, especially in Literature, can cause estrangement that perform research related to the creation of the database. It can imagine at first that tries to bring complex concepts such as "literature", "reading" and "literacy" to quantifications. However, it should be noted that the formation of these banks can contribute to the consolidation of research networks, with consequent exchange of information and references, including researchers from different and distant regions of country. Precisely because of this diverse spatiality, providing that the Federation units realize their research capacities and performance in certain areas brings significant elements for the advancement of scientific and cultural. In the case of this research aimed to briefly describe some clues about memories of reading teachers in the Literature, the region known as Norte Pioneiro, of Paraná State and the neighboring region with that, demarcated by the counties between Assis and Ourinhos from São Paulo State, enrolled in a specialized course, to contemplate works of juvenile literature.

Redes acadêmicas para pesquisa e capacitação em meio ambiente e desenvolvimento sustentável: uma revisão crítica

Tornou-se lugar comum, sobretudo em correntes ligadas aos movimentos sociais mais amplos e às questões ambientais, a crítica ao reducionismo da ciência clássica, à dinâmica de trabalho individualizado, à desconexão e à falta de integração com os problemas reais. Como resultado, cresce o número de formadores de opinião em favor de uma ciência mais integrada aos problemas reais e de um conhecimento como processo coletivo. O Conselho Nacional de Desenvolvimento Científico e Tecnológico (CNPq) desenvolveu um Diretório dos Grupos de Pesquisa existentes no Brasil, alguns destes grupos possuem modelo de rede. Com o cenário apresentado, a reflexão sobre a importância de avaliar o potencial destes grupos foi incentivada para influenciar a formulação e a implantação de políticas públicas ambientais. Foi possível identificar fatores chave para o fortalecimento da influência nas políticas públicas, destacando-se dentre estes, avanços em abordagens interdisciplinares. Porém, os grupos possuem dificuldades na utilização de ferramentas de comunicação mais eficientes para o trabalho em rede e para atingir os tomadores de decisões; no acesso a fundos e nos critérios para integrar os grupos estudados.

Unmet needs of young interventional cardiologists: the EAPCI Young survey

Aims: As part of the EAPCI Young Initiative, the European Association of Percutaneous Cardiovascular Interventions (EAPCI) conducted a survey to address the educational needs of young interventional cardiologists. Methods and results: A questionnaire was distributed to all individuals registered in the ESC database aged <36 years with an interest in interventional cardiology. Nearly two-thirds of participants (60%) indicated that they had difficulty in finding a fellowship training position. The desire for a fellow's course at European level was expressed by 95%, while 94% were in favour of developing a network of young interventional cardiologists in Europe. More than three-quarters of respondents (79%) said they had had difficulty in obtaining funding to attend EuroPCR. Multiple difficulties were identified in setting up a research programme, two of the more frequent being problematic access to research networks and the difficulties of finding a mentor. Career orientation was identified as another issue, with more than half of respondents (59%) declaring they followed career options by chance. Conclusions: The survey underlines the need to fill a gap in order to address the needs of young interventional cardiologists. It may serve as a starting point for developing educational initiatives targeted at young interventional cardiologists.

Guidelines for Accessibility to Microblogging: an Integral Approach

Microblogging is one of the most popular user-generated media, hence its accessibility has a large impact for users. However, the accessibility of this medium is poor in practice, due to the combination of bad practices by different agents ranging from the providers that host microblogging services to prosumers that post contents to them. Here we present an accessibility-oriented model of microblogging services, analyze the impact of its components, and propose guidelines for each of them to meet accessibility requirements. In particular, we base on an study we have performed on Twitter, one of the most-relevant microblogging platform, to identify good and bad practices in microblogging content generation regarding accessibility in microblogging content generation.

Analysis of the essential literature on project management in Spanish

The advancement of science and engineering projects is brewing major changes in the various phases of a project. These changes have produced more rigorous aspects of project management that tracks the research fronts of engineering and project management becomes key. However, research in engineering and project management in Spanish is hindered by access to information to enable the person concerned to ascertain the most recent and current research, limiting the exchange of information and strengthening research networks in this field interest with great implications in business, industry and scientific issues. Therefore, the article aims to present the state of the art of engineering research and project management in Spanish, using the analysis of scientific domains and network analysis of the research literature to identify and analyze relationships between authors and documents that establish the base and research fronts topic under study. The results also provide statistics on the contribution of international research in Spanish and scientific collaboration networks.
