Depuis 2001, le Programme de formation de l’école québécoise impose l’enseignement de la compétence « apprécier » dans les quatre disciplines artistiques. Ce mémoire s’intéresse à l’influence que peuvent avoir des activités intégrant les arts plastiques à la musique sur l’expérience d’appréciation musicale d’élèves de sixième année du primaire. Plus spécifiquement, elle vise à rendre compte des différentes dimensions présentes dans la description que font les élèves de leur expérience d’appréciation ainsi qu’à comprendre de quelle façon les activités d’appréciation intégrant les arts plastiques à la musique affectent la verbalisation que font les élèves de cette expérience. La recherche prend la forme d’études de cas réalisées auprès de cinq élèves de sixième année du primaire. Ces élèves, ainsi que tous les élèves de leur classe, ont participé à une activité d’appréciation musicale intradisciplinaire ainsi qu’à deux activités d’appréciation interdisciplinaires. Après chacune des activités, ces cinq élèves ont été rencontrés individuellement. Au cours d’entrevues semi-dirigées, il leur était demandé de rendre compte de leur expérience d’appréciation. Quatre grandes tendances ont émergé de l’analyse des propos des élèves, soit le sentiment de mieux s’approprier l’œuvre entendue, une verbalisation plus précise des éléments perçus, une verbalisation plus précise des sentiments ressentis et enfin, une forme de distraction par rapport à l’œuvre entendue. Au terme de cette étude, il semble que l’utilisation d’activité d’appréciation intégrant les arts plastiques à la musique, sans faire l’objet d’un usage systématique, pourrait constituer une forme de différenciation pédagogique qui serait utile à certains types d’apprenants.

This work aims to study the adsorption of phenol on activated carbons (ACs) and the consecutive in situ regeneration of carbon by Fenton oxidation. Two different operations have been carried Out: (1) a batch procedure in order to investigate the influence of Fe(2+) and H(2)O(2) concentrations; (2) continuous fixed bed adsorption, followed by a batch circulation of the Fenton`s reagent through the saturated AC bed. to examine the efficiency of the real process. Two different activated carbons have been also studied: a both micro- and mesoporous AC (L27) and an only microporous One (S23). In the batch reactor the best conditions found for pollutant mineralization in the homogeneous Fenton system are not the best For AC regeneration: a continuous reduction of adsorption capacity of L27 is observed after 3 oxidations, due to the decrease of both AC weight and surface area. Higher concentration of Fe(2+) and lower concentration of H(2)O(2) (2 times the stoichiometry) lead to a 50% recovery of the initial adsorption capacity during at least four consecutive cycles for L27, while about 20% or less for S23. In the consecutive continuous adsorption/batch Fenton oxidation process, the regeneration efficiency reaches 30-40% for L27 after two cycles whatever the feed concentration and less than 10% for S23. A photo-Fenton test performed on L27 shows almost complete mineralization (contrary to ""dark"" Fenton) and further improves recovery of AC adsorption capacity although not complete (56% after two cycles).

The objective of this study was to investigate behavioural changes in Holstein heifers caused by exogenous adrenocorticotropic hormone (ACTH) administration. Twelve 11-month-old heifers were submitted to either a single saline or ACTH injection and then the treatments were switched after 3 days (n = 12 heifers/treatment). Heifers were in full view throughout the experimental period and recordings started immediately after ACTH and saline administration (injection corresponded to time 0 min), with general activity patterns of each heifer recorded on videotape for 24 h. Behavioural results during the first two experimental hours showed that heifers were less active and spent more time lying following ACTH than after saline treatment (P = 0.04). Also, heifers spent significantly less time ruminating immediately following ACTH injection (P = 0.05). However, feed intake measured after 4 and 24 h was similar between treatments (P > 0.05). Overall, there was no significant influence of ACTH treatment on frequency or duration of behaviours during the 4- and 24-h periods following injection (P > 0.05). The rapid and minimal effect of ACTH injection on behaviour suggests that peripheral administration of ACTH can be used to measure reactivity of the adrenal cortex without inducing biologically significant consequences. Several problematic aspects of women's paid employment - e.g. low pay and lack of promotional opportunities - are exacerbated by the segregation of women and men into different occupations. In this article, the potential of in-store equal opportunities policies to break down such gender segregation will be explored, through consideration of the existence and implementation of these policies in twenty-two multinational retail companies in Dublin and Paris. It will be argued that, with one notable exception, the instore equal opportunities policies are effectively neutralized, and furthermore are neutralized in nationally specific ways which can be related to differences between France and Ireland in the organization of labour-market regulation and in women's labour-force participation (LFP). The case-study findings also suggest that the 'country' variable has a stronger effect on the existence and implementation of these policies than the extent of a shop's links to an overseas headquarters. The findings of this study have implications for both the equity of women's incorporation into the paid labour force and understanding of aspects of HRM in branches of multinational companies.
