This work aim to show that the reach to the limits of capital accumulation, which is showing its first signs since the 60 s, has and still is exercising great importance in Brazilian economic policies. In the first chapter, we establish a reference to what is understood as the limit of capital accumulation after World War II and how the accumulation process drives itself to its own limits. In the following chapters, we detach the importance of the reached limit to the most relevant moments of Brazilian economic policy. Since the IIPND, when the first signs of influence raise in Brazilian economy, passing through the stabilizing attempts during the 80 s and 90 s and the emergence of the pro-market State in Brazil, until the 00 s, when macroeconomic prudence took shape and delimited the conduction of the country s economic policy, we will show how the limit of capital accumulation has played an important role.

These things are alive: relationships between material culture, communities, and archaeological legislation

This paper deals with the relationship between different sets of archaeological legislation, material culture and communities. First it presents a historical sketch of the heritage legislation in the West and its contemporary uses. Secondly, it shows how alternative archaeological agencies, such as community archaeology, deal with these problems. The discussion is especially relevant in Brazil, where contract archaeology is presently overwhelming, and the issue is raised in the last part of the paper.

Negative Archaeology. The Archaeological Borders of the Present

Nowadays, archaeology is trying to redefine its relation with objects. This change is taking place at the same time as the West is breaking once and for all with the generation who did the rural exodus in the mid of the twentieth century. The present paper proposes a revision of the conditions that allow us to both define this rupture and at the same time determine our affinity with materiality. This is done through a reconsideration of the relation between the past and the present and the dynamics marking this difference. We are situated in a moment when the experience of time is shifting and thus so is the integrity of archaeological objects. Under the name of Negative Archaeology, the border between past and present is explored. This border determines the creation of the past in a present which intends to homogenise changes. Archaeology is a unique discipline which could prevent this process, or at least bear witness to the dynamics to which objects seem to be subjected. Obscolescence is introduced as a concept in an attempt to name the aforementioned problem.

Propuesta de mejora del proceso de aprovisionamiento de materiales consumibles y suministros en una empresa de servicios petroleros

El presente proyecto de investigación desarrolla la mejora en el proceso de aprovisionamiento y distribución de materiales consumibles y repuestos desde su situación operativa actual hasta un modelo optimizado, estructurado y sostenible. Esto se aplica al proceso del área de compras y abastecimiento de la empresa Schlumberger Del Perú S.A.; sin embargo, las metodologías aplicadas pueden ser aplicadas en cualquier sector. El objetivo general es la reducción de costos, disminución en los tiempos de entregas deseables por la operación y un óptimo manejo de recursos, desarrollando mediciones adecuadas para asegurar su mejora continua La propuesta de este trabajo de investigación contempla la implementación de un modelo VMI (manejo de inventario por parte del proveedor) para los materiales consumibles y repuestos no críticos. El objetivo general del proyecto es obtener una reducción de costos y gastos en el área de aprovisionamiento y gestión de inventarios para los materiales consumibles y repuestos en la empresa Schlumberger del Perú S.A. mediante la implementación de un sistema colaborativo VMI. Los objetivos específicos del presente proyecto están orientados a reducir los días de cobertura inventario, disminuir la operatividad transaccional relacionada al aprovisionamiento de MRO, el incremento materiales negociados vía catálogo, así como reducir el tiempo de aprovisionamiento de materiales.

Severe Acute Dyspnoea of Extra-Thoracic Origin: Experience with Three Primary Thyroid Lymphomas (PTL)

Objectives: To recall the common clinical presenting features of and guide the diagnostic procedures of primary thyroid lymphomas (PTL). Materials and methods: We report on three patients developing an acute dyspnoea and fast evolving neck mass in the thyroid caused by a PTL occurring in our regional hospital in Switzerland between 2009 and 2013. Results: PTL causes a neck mass, dyspnoea and dysphonia and responds well to chemotherapy. Mortality is due to relapse or infectious complications. Conclusion: Acute dyspnoea caused by thyroid disease is uncommon. Nevertheless, it is the main symptom in PTL due to rapid growth and compression of the airways. Chemotherapy should be started promptly.

O presente trabalho é uma abordagem teórica e interpretativa à música para traverso de António Rodil (c.1730-1787), Pedro Avondano (1714-1782) e dos irmãos Pla. A interação entre as duas componentes do discurso são fundamentos essenciais para uma global compreensão das obras, sendo por sua vez, foco central no tratamento do estilo galante ibérico. A dissertação esta dividida em 5 capítulos; 1. contextualização da prática musical em Portugal na segunda metade do séc. Adaptive energy-efficient qos-aware scheduling algorithm for TCP/IP mobile cloud

The expected pervasive use of mobile cloud computing and the growing number of Internet data centers have brought forth many concerns, such as, energy costs and energy saving management of both data centers and mobile connections. Therefore, the need for adaptive and distributed resource allocation schedulers for minimizing the communication-plus-computing energy consumption has become increasingly important. In this paper, we propose and test an efficient dynamic resource provisioning scheduler that jointly minimizes computation and communication energy consumption, while guaranteeing user Quality of Service (QoS) constraints. We evaluate the performance of the proposed dynamic resource provisioning algorithm with respect to the execution time, goodput and bandwidth usage and compare the performance of the proposed scheduler against the exiting approaches. The attained experimental results show that the proposed dynamic resource provisioning algorithm achieves much higher energy-saving than the traditional schemes.

Cyber sisters: Buddhist women’s online activism and practice

While the churches are emptying, other virtual religious places as the religious websites seem to be filling up. The researcher focusing on religion and internet or digital religion as an object of study must seek answers to a number of questions. Is computer-mediated religious communication a particular communication process whose object is what we conventionally call religion? Or is it a modern, independent form of religious expressiveness that finds its new-born status in the web and its particular language? To examine the questions above, and others, the book collects more empirical data, claiming that the Internet will have a specific or novel impact on how religious traditions are interpreted. The blurring of previous boundaries (offline/online, virtual/local, illegitimate/legitimate religion) is another theme common to all the contributions in this volume.
