Informe sobre l'XI Congrés d'Arxivística de Catalunya: "Innovació i desenvolupament professional" (la Seu d'Urgell, 10, 11 i 12 de maig de 2007)

Els dies 10, 11 i 12 de maig de 2007 l'Associació d'Arxivers de Catalunya (AAC) ha celebrat a la Seu d'Urgell les jornades dels arxivers catalans. Enguany, però, no han estat les "onzenes jornades" sinó que l'organització les ha convertides en "congrés", l'onzè, tot i ser el primer que rep aquesta denominació. Amb el títol "Innovació i desenvolupament professional", l'organització ha plantejat la reunió professional amb un extens objectiu: "conèixer, debatre i intercanviar experiències i continguts entorn de: la implantació de les ISO, la formació professional de l'arxiu, el desenvolupament professional davant de les tecnologies de la informació, els estàndards internacionals per intercanviar informació i el paper del servei d'arxiu com a centre per a la difusió i recuperació de la memòria del país".

Avaluació de revistes i avaluació de la recerca en humanitats i ciències socials a Catalunya: aproximació a un problema

The evaluation of the quality and impact of journals as a starting point to systematise the quality of research is an indirect method commonly used for obtaining information for systematic and major evaluation efforts, such as those needed for public tenders to aid projects and research groups. Nevertheless, this method runs into an important obstacle: preparing rankings of journals in the humanities and social sciences is considerably more complex than for those on experimental, biomedical or technological sciences. Cultural, linguistic and territorial components of research in the humanities and social sciences radically question the international rankings. Within this context, the article presents the experience of a study-in-progress whose intention is to evaluate the rankings of journals in the humanities and social sciences published in 1997 by the Generalitat de Catalunya. Even thought an attempt was made to bring this type of titles closer to the Catalan community of researchers, the initiative has been frequently surrounded by controversy and criticism and, at the present, does not enjoy the needed recognition of the Catalan academic sector.

L'anatomia microscòpica de les plantes

The microscopic anatomy of plants. A review of the main treatises on Plant Microscopic Anatomy and their translations published along the XX century is followed by a discussion on various aspects of the structure in plant cells, methodological questions and teminology. Problems related to using dry specimens from herbaria for microscopic studies are considered. As an example, a study has been made on a species named in memory of Prof. Dr. Oriol de Bolòs, Delphinium bolosii (BLANCHÉ and MOLERO, 1983).

The European sugar regime new legislation and wto rules

[cat] El 20 de febrer de 2006 es va aprovar el Reglament núm. 318/2006 del Consell que reforma l'Organització Comuna de Mercats del sucre. L'article analitza els canvis introduïts en el nou règim europeu del sucre i valora la seva adequació a les normes i demandes internacionals de liberalització del comerç agrícola. Es conclou que la reforma ha estat el mínim necessari per fer front als reptes internacionals: la recent resolució de l'Òrgan de Solució de Diferències de l'Organització Mundial del Comerç i les demandes de liberalització plantejades en el marc de la Ronda de Doha.

España y las organizaciones internacionales

Al llarg del segle XIX Espanya va ser un soci actiu per la creació de les primeres organitzacions mundials de caràcter tècnic. Durant el segle XX España va participar en l'establiment de la Societat de Nacions creada desprès de La Primera Guerra Mundial, però el regim favorable a l'Eix de Franco fou inicialment exclòs de les Nacions Unides, les institucions de Bretton Woods, GATT i Pla Marshall i les agencies creades desprès de la Segona Guerra Mundial. L'escenari de la Guerra Freda va fer possible que el regim de Franco fos admès al Sistema de les Nacions Unides i les principals organitzacions econòmiques internacionals. Nomes desprès de la mort de Franco, la Monarquia Constitucional Española va poder ingresar plenament en la integració europees i les organitzacions occidentals de caràcter polític. España es actualment un dels països mes involucrats en els esforços internacionals per crear Bens Públics Globals a través d'organitzacions internacionals i de la Unió Europea.

The geographical concentration of industry across Spanish Regions, 1856-1995

New economic geography models show that there may be a strong relationship between economic integration and the geographical concentration of industries. Nevertheless, this relationship is neither unique nor stable, and may follow a ?-shaped pattern in the long term. The aim of the present paper is to analyze the evolution of the geographical concentration of manufacturing across Spanish regions during the period 1856-1995. We construct several geographical concentration indices for different points in time over these 140 years. The analysis is carried out at two levels of aggregation, in regions corresponding to the NUTS-II and NUTS-III classifications. We confirm that the process of economic integration stimulated the geographical concentration of industrial activity. Nevertheless, the localization coefficients only started to fall after the beginning of the integration of the Spanish Economy into the international markets in the mid-70s, and this new path was not interrupted by Spain¿s entry in the European Union some years later

La investigación regional en España: un análisis bibliométrico

Trabajos recientes han puesto de manifiesto que la búsqueda española en economía realizada durante la década de los noventa ha incrementado su presencia internacional al mismo tiempo que se observa una dualidad a la difusión de la búsqueda a través de revistas nacionales e internacionales en función del ámbito de búsqueda considerado. Este trabajo analiza, a partir de la aplicación de técnicas bibliométricas que ha sido la evolución de la búsqueda regional y urbana realizada en España dentro del contexto internacional y si hay diferencias muy marcadas entre la búsqueda publicada a revistas nacionales y la publicada a revistas internacionales durante el periodo 1991-2000. Los resultados obtenidos muestran que la tendencia observada por el conjunto de la economía también se han producido (incluso con más intensidad) dentro del ámbito de la búsqueda centrada en aspectos regionales y urbanos

The Impact of Monetary Union on EU-15 Sovereign Debt Yield Spreads

With European Monetary Union (EMU), there was an increase in the adjusted spreads (corrected from the foreign exchange risk) of euro participating countries' sovereign securities over Germany and a decrease in those of non-euro countries. The objective of this paper is to study the reasons for this result, and in particular, whether the change in the price assigned by markets was due to domestic factors such as credit risk and/or market liquidity, or to international risk factors. The empirical evidence suggests that market size scale economies have increased since EMU for all European markets, so the effect of the various risk factors, even though it differs between euro and non-euro countries, is always dependent on the size of the market.
