A integração das tecnologias de informação e comunicação na escola: o projto político pedagógico nesse contexto

This study aims to analyze the possibilities of integration of new information and communication technologies (ICT) in teaching and learning in a school of public elementary school Municipal Araraquara. This is a survey based on a qualitative approach, which has a strategy Case Study. Made an analysis of the Curriculum Guidelines and Policy Project (PPP) school selected, in order to check how the school addresses the issue of the use of new technologies in the educational process. For the analysis of the Curriculum Guidelines and Educational Policy Project found that the school has studied a concern to make use of ICT in teaching and learning, featuring an awareness of the importance of technology in education, but does not describe ways to integrate curricularmente them. The integration of new technologies into the curriculum requires a systematic reflection about their goals, their technical and content chosen. Not only is working with new technologies aimed at digital inclusion of students, but we need to integrate the school into their curricular, integrate them into the process of teaching and learning. Today ICT configure themselves into a new form of language, essential for knowledge representation and, if so, their presence in the school curriculum is crucial.

Tendências de pesquisa em ensino-aprendizagem de inglês como língua estrangeira no Brasil: 2005-2009

The aim of this paper is to point the main research tendencies in teaching and learning English as a foreign language in the main postgraduate courses in this area, in Brazil, in the period 2005-2010. The adopted methodology for the data collection included the inventory of theses and dissertations, which are included in the sites of the universities with research lines in Applied Linguistics and were produced in the mentioned period. The most productive categories were the ones related to teacher formation, translation, language and technology and studies about teachers and students’ beliefs.

Percepción de estudiantes de odontología sobre educación a distancia

Introduction: distance education is defined as a learning mode in which pedagogical and didactic mediation in teaching and learning processes is characterized by the use of information and communication means and technology by both teachers and students, and the development of educational activities at different settings and technologyand. Objective: evaluate the knowledge obtained by students from the last year of Odontology about distance education and their opinions about the subject. Methods: across-sectional descriptive exploratory study was conducted. Of the total 140 university students, 120 participated in the study. A self-applied questionnaire was developed with questions related to the student, the use of the Internet and distance education. The professional updating alternatives included were graduate courses and subscription to newspapers. Results: 29.2 % of the students use the Internet on a daily basis; only one student stated that he did not use the Internet. Of the students interviewed, 63.34 % did not know any form of distance education. As a consequence, 97.5 % had never taken part in a distance education course and 62.5 % stated that they did not know whether they would. Conclusions: results show that odontology students are prejudiced against nontraditional learning modes, though they use the Internet on a regular basis. Despite the existence of legislation regulating distance education, students are still concerned about its quality and legality.

Developing a Web-Based Course in Phases

Introduction: Distance education has grown in popularity and usage. At the same time, enrollments at postsecondary institutions continue to increase. This places significant growth pressures on institutions of higher learning. Institutions providing nursing education have historically faced limited faculty resources. This has made it difficult to meet demand for distance education; and an “all-at-once” approach to course development does little to ease this problem. Introduction: Emergency care providers are required to demonstrate competency in the management of life-threatening situation. The care provider’s ability to manage an emergency situation depends upon his/her knowledge and skills in basic CPR; and the use of emergency equipment and supplies. The education department at our healthcare facility is responsible for CPR/Emergency Management competency validation of over 2500 employees annually. Historically each employee was scheduled to attend 4 hours of class every year to review the content, complete the post-test and demonstrate skills. Introduction or Statement of Problem Health care profession educators are challenged in their efforts to bring clinical experiences into the class room and to introduce students to community settings early in their didactic training. Little research has addressed student attributes affecting nursing student attrition today. Early identification of such attributes can help students to timely access appropriate services, providing improved opportunities for success.
