A obra é composta por três partes: a primeira parte sobre “Ideologias das colonizações e acção educativa”; a segunda parte sobre “Processos de independência e acção educativa” e a terceira aborda a temática “A educação e o outro”. António Nóvoa apresenta a obra, resultante de comunicações, em português e castelhano, seleccionadas no 15º Congresso Internacional de História da Educação (Lisboa, 1993), dedicado ao tema “A educação no encontro dos povos e das culturas: a experiência colonial (séculos XVI-XX)”, que inicia com intervenções proferidas, na sessão inaugural, pelo Profs. José V. de Pina Martins e Joaquim Ferreira Gomes.

Heterobathmia pseuderiocrania Kristensen & Nielsen (Lepidoptera, Heterobathmiidae): identification based on DNA-barcoding and notes on the morphology and life history of the immature stages. The larva morphology of the species Heterobathmia pseuderiocrania (Lepidoptera, Heterobathmiidae), a Nothofagus obliqua leafminer in Chile, is described. The tissue-feeding first and last instars are described. Also, the number of larval stages, some aspects of the biology and life cycle of the species are provided.

Rolf Bernander (1956-2014): pioneer of the archaeal cell cycle.

On 19 January 2014 Rolf ('Roffe') Bernander passed away unexpectedly. Rolf was a dedicated scientist; his research aimed at unravelling the cell biology of the archaeal domain of life, especially cell cycle-related questions, but he also made important contributions in other areas of microbiology. Rolf had a professor position in the Molecular Evolution programme at Uppsala University, Sweden for about 8 years, and in January 2013 he became chair professor at the Department of Molecular Biosciences, The Wenner-Gren Institute at Stockholm University in Sweden. Rolf was an exceptional colleague and will be deeply missed by his family and friends, and the colleagues and co-workers that he leaves behind in the scientific community. He will be remembered for his endless enthusiasm for science, his analytical mind, and his quirky sense of humour.
