Análise das capas de livros de Vicente Di Grado: década de 1960

This article intends to contribute to the Brazilian design history through a study of a selection of book covers produced in 1960 decade by Vicente Di Grado (1922 - 2004), who was the main cover artist and illustrator of a publishing house named Clube do Livro. The covers were analysed considering their visual and contextual syntax and in their relations with information design.

Origami e kirigami: arte e cultura como recurso lúdico e educativo

We can know a people through their cultural and artistic assets. One of the many aspects of Japanese culture is origami, a fusion of the verb “oru”, which means folding, with the word “kami” meaning paper. In this communication, we describe the course “Origami and Kirigami: art and culture as a recreational and educational resource”. The course aimed to present these two oriental techniques based on paper and its potential as a source of entertainment and education, at the same time seeking to introduce cultural aspects of these arts of folding and/or cutting paper. This practice is more common than we realize, and is present in our day-to-day life when we perform actions such as folding clothes and papers, and making packages, amongst others. However, few are aware of the benefits that this folding brings to the fields of Arts, Mathematics, and Science, besides its recreational characteristics. Kirigami is a mixed technique that in addition to using folds in the paper (as in origami) also uses cuts (“kiru” – meaning, “cut”). It can be performed with heavier paper than origami, and by introducing some cuts, the paper can be folded to form the desired shape. It is a simple technique, with impressive results. We conducted eight weekly meetings, each lasting four hours, totaling 32 hours of coursework. In addition to the classes, a visit was made to the Okinawa Club in Bauru (São Paulo), where it was possible for the students of the course and the elderly group (fujinkai) of origamists of the club to exchange experiences. Finally, an exhibition was organized to display the artifacts produced by the course participants and disseminate the work of the students.

The investigative practice as science teaching activity is recognized as an alternative to the learning improvement of science, becoming a perspective of work for teachers. This article arose from a study about the teachers formation process in the scope of investigative practices, conducted with trainee teachers of the Science Club of the Federal University of Pará - UFPA and students of basic education in public schools in Belém city, in order to discuss the theoretical-practical relationship in the planning of an investigative activity. In this process, some episodes indicate the necessity of such relationship, because in its absence the planning process shows itself to be questionable. Our analysis shows the importance of considering the theoretical context to conceive the planning and decisions regarding the conduction of the investigative practices, and oriented to a theoretical or practical goal.

As relações do futebol na mídia e o matrimônio de interesses: as mensagens na camisa do Corinthians

Este artigo apresenta levantamentos iniciais para o estudo da comunicação esportiva, com enfoque entre a relação futebol e mídia, em especial, o processo midiático envolvendo as mensagens utilizadas na camisa de jogo do time de futebol Sport Club Corinthians Paulista, que utilizou frequentemente nos anos de 2011 e 2012 mensagens relacionadas desde a problemas sociais até eleições internas do próprio clube. Entender e elucidar os motivos para a aceitação e repercussão dessas mensagens com a produção de matérias nos sites esportivos Globo Esporte, ESPN e Lance Net é uma das questões a serem respondidas sobre este “matrimônio de interesses”.

Capas de Vicente Di Grado na década de 1960

O resgate da história e da memória do design gráfico brasileiro ainda possui algumas lacunas, pois muitos profissionais, seus projetos e obras não são lembrados ou ainda não foram estudados e registrados, deixando uma lacuna na história gráfico-visual de nosso país. Este artigo pretende contribuir nesse sentido, resgatando as capas de livros projetadas por Vicente Di Grado. Designer gráfico, artista plástico e docente, Di Grado (1922-2005) atuou como principal capista para a Editora Clube do Livro entre as décadas de 1950 e 1970, sendo seu maior período de produção a década de 1960, justamente o objeto deste estudo. Pelo conjunto de seu trabalho, recebeu o Prêmio Jabuti em 1963. Sua obra representa uma grande fonte de elementos e referências gráficas, além de ter marcado a linguagem editorial da Editora Clube do Livro.

Studying penalty kicks will a better understanding of the actions of goalkeepers and kickers. This study looked at 527 penalty charges in professional games in 2010 to 2015. The objective was to verify the fact that the charge be right-handed or left-handed interfered with the action of the goalkeeper, differences in efficiency of left-and right-handed players, check results in penalty situations in the match and in the disputes of penalties and performance of players in club games and selections. The complete use in 527 penalty charges was 74%. It is concluded that if the debt collector is right-handed, the goalie moves to the right and if it's left-handed move more to the left. Tax collectors selections had better use (77%) than the clubs. Right-handers presented more efficacy (76%) compared to lefties (66%). The index of the goalkeepers was greater when centered (22%), although 91% of all charges being directed to the right and left sectors

The importance of plant diversity in maintaining the pollinator bee, Eulaema nigrita (Hymenoptera: Apidae) in sweet passion fruit fields

The euglossine bee Eulaema nigrita plays an important role for the pollination of native and economically important plants, such as the sweet passion-fruit Passiflora alata. E. nigrita uniquely collects the nectar from the flowers of P alata, nevertheless, it needs to visit other plants to collect pollen, nectar and other resources for its survival. There are two methods to identify the species of plants used by bees in their diet: by direct observation of the bees in the flowers, and through identification of pollen grains present in brood cells, feces, or in the bees' body. In order to identify the other plants that E. nigrita visits, we analyzed samples of pollen grains removed from the bee's body in the course of the flowering period of P alata. Among our results, the flora visited by E. nigrita comprised 40 species from 32 genera and 19 families, some of them used as a pollen source or just nectar. In spite of being a polyletic species, E. nigrita exhibited preference for some plant species with poricidal anthers. P alata which has high sugar concentration nectar was the main source of nectar for this bee in the studied area. Nonetheless, the pollinic analysis indicated that others nectariferous plant species are necessary to keep the populations of E. nigrita. Studies such as this one are important since they indicate supplementary pollen-nectar sources which must be used for the conservation of the populations of E. nigrita in crops neighbouring areas. In the absence of pollinators, growers are forced to pay for hand pollination, which increases production costs; keeping pollinators in cultivated areas is still more feasible to ensure sweet passion fruit production. Comentários gráficos sobre os desenhos de Paulo Mendes da Rocha

Partindo-se do pressuposto de que o desenho é instrumento de diálogo entre o arquiteto e ele mesmo ou com terceiros e que este tipo de representação vem perdendo espaço para tecnologias digitais, este trabalho tem como objetivo estudar e analisar desenhos de projetos selecionados do arquiteto Paulo Mendes da Rocha, como contribuição para a discussão sobre o papel do desenho analógico no processo projetivo atual. O estudo acerca de quatro projetos (Ginásio do Clube Paulistano, Residência Butantã, Residência Millan e MuBE) se deu através de marcações realizadas pela pesquisadora sobre desenhos originais do arquiteto, com o objetivo de detectar intenções projetuais, conceitos e características dos projetos. Para tanto, foram feitas marcações gráficas sobre os desenhos originais, de maneira a evidenciar uma leitura particular da pesquisadora, permitindo assim uma melhor compreensão dos projetos escolhidos para o estudo. O desenho sobre o desenho marca os pontos que o julgamento considera importantes, tratando-se de uma leitura particular e permitindo melhor compreensão dos projetos para quem o pratica, uma vez que o ato de desenhar está estreitamente relacionado ao de pensar. O desenho no processo projetivo: estudo das representações gráficas de projetos de Paulo Mendes da Rocha

Há anos vem-se questionando o papel da representação gráfica na arquitetura, diante das novas tecnologias gráficas computacionais e novos processos projetivos delas decorrentes. Entretanto, o desenho à mão livre ainda se mostra atuante no processo projetivo, marcado por um olhar atento, uma percepção individual e um tempo de execução que permite imersão, entrega e reflexão. Este artigo apresenta uma análise a partir de um olhar mais atento ao desenho de projetos do arquiteto Paulo Mendes da Rocha, como contribuição para a discussão sobre o papel do desenho analógico no processo projetivo. Foram selecionados alguns projetos do arquiteto: Projeto para o Concurso de remodelação do centro urbano de Santiago (Chile); Estádio Serra Dourada; Edifício Jaraguá, Caetano de Campos; Ginásio do Clube Atlético Paulistano (1958); Residência no Butantã (1964); residência Fernando Millan (1970) e Museu Brasileiro da Escultura (1986). Este artigo apresenta estudos de leitura sobre os desenhos originais do arquiteto com o objetivo de detectar as intenções projetuais, conceitos e características do projeto. Foram feitas marcações gráficas sobre os desenhos originais, evidenciando uma leitura particular do pesquisador que permitiu uma melhor compreensão dos projetos.
