ADOLESCENCE AND DRUG USE THROUGH THE LENS OF PSYCHOANALYSIS: SUFFERING AND ECSTASY IN THE PASSAGE The purpose of this study is to reflect upon the psychological factors of adolescent drug addiction according to a psychoanalytic perspective. First we consider adolescence as a social-historical category and then we discuss the psychoanalytic understanding of the adolescent transition. This theoretical path builds the approach that considers drug use as a phenomenon that serves as a passage ritual to contemporary adolescence. This phenomenon is modulated by the drive organization, which determines how the individual will take ownership of the use of psychoactive substances. We conclude that the substance use may function as a buffer-object, activated to deal with the structural fragility of the contemporary affective bonds.

Defined by Freud in 1915, this process of melancholia is aimed at repairing a loss felt as unbearable by the ego and that triggers off a violent struggle with ambivalent feelings toward the lost object. The resulting hatred is aimed at the shadow of the object that falls on the ego. Especially in anorexia nervosa, there seems to be a regressive movement that goes beyond this.

Concord��ncias e discord��ncias de Dewey com Freud

Este artigo exp��e ideias de Sigmund Freud sobre temas que s��o fundamentais para compreender o homem contempor��neo: a constitui����o do psiquismo; a forma����o e a resolu����o das patologias mentais; a cultura em sentido amplo e a educa����o como elemento mediador entre o indiv��duo e a sociedade. O objetivo �� apresentar e comparar as an��lises feitas por John Dewey sobre esses mesmos temas, tomando por base o livro Human nature and conduct. As compara����es entre os discursos freudiano e deweyano s��o feitas por meio da metodologia proposta por Cha��m Perelman no livro Tratado da argumenta����o (elaborado em coautoria com Olbrechts-Tyteca), que busca esclarecer as estrat��gias argumentativas usadas por um autor para obter ou aumentar a ades��o ��s teses propostas e, com isso, despertar a����es concretas. As conclus��es sugerem que, embora Dewey discorde de Freud, existem pontos de concord��ncia entre ambos, especialmente no que diz respeito ao significado dos impulsos e da sublima����o e �� concep����o de que o conhecimento �� mut��vel e impreciso, o que rejeita a cren��a em certezas absolutas e insere as decis��es e a����es humanas no ��mbito da probabilidade.

Quadri di sintomi. Teoria della immagini, storia dell'arte e scienze umane in medicina

Lo studio analizza il modo in cui la storia dell���arte e la visual culture vengono utilizzate all���interno delle medical humanities, e cerca di suggerire un metodo pi�� utile rispetto a quelli fin qui proposti. Lo scritto �� organizzato in due parti. Nella prima parte sono analizzate alcune teorie e pratiche delle scienze umane in medicina. In particolare, ci concentriamo sulla medicina narrativa e sugli approcci con cui la storia dell���arte viene inclusa nella maggioranza dei programmi di medical humanities. Dopodich��, proponiamo di riconsiderare questi metodi e di implementare il ruolo di un pensiero storico e visivo all���interno di tali insegnamenti. Nella seconda parte, alla luce di quanto emerso nella prima, ci dedichiamo a uno studio di caso: la rappresentazione della melanconia amorosa, o mal d���amore, in una serie di dipinti olandesi del Secolo d���Oro. Colleghiamo queste opere a trattati medico-filosofici dell���epoca che permettano di inquadrare il mal d���amore in un contesto storico; in seguito, analizziamo alcune interpretazioni fornite da studiosi e storici dell���arte a noi contemporanei. In particolare, esaminiamo lo studio pionieristico di Henry Meige, pubblicato sulla ���Nouvelle iconographie de la Salp��tri��re��� nel 1899, da cui emerge la possibilit�� di un confronto critico sia con le posizioni iconodiagnostiche di Charcot e Richer sia con quelle della prima psicoanalisi.
