Ensino de Ciências e Matemática IV: temas de investigação

Este e-book é uma produção do Programa de Pós-Graduação em Educação Para a Ciência - PPGEC - da Faculdade de Ciências da UNESP, campus de Bauru, e faz parte do Programa de Publicações Digitais da Pró-Reitoria de Pós-Graduação, em parceria com a Fundação Editora da UNESP, que tem como principal objetivo a divulgação de pesquisas realizadas pelos Programas de Pós-Graduação da universidade. A série Ensino de Ciências e Matemática teve início em 2009 e visa, por meio de pesquisas oriundas de teses, dissertações e de grupos de pesquisa, divulgar e fomentar a discussão sobre processos de ensino de Ciências e Matemática analisada a partir de diferentes perspectivas teóricas e metodológicas. Essa série abarca temáticas recentes que estão sempre presentes nas discussões de importantes eventos científicos, nacionais e internacionais, da área da Educação para a Ciência e Matemática. Entre esses temas destacam: formação de professores, formação de conceitos, Tecnologias da Informação, processos de ensino, entre outros. Esta obra é intitulada Ensino de Ciências e Matemática IV: temas de investigação porque veicula pesquisas que abordam temas atuais e importantes estudados por pós-graduandos e docentes do Programa, como, por exemplo, avaliação, prática de ensino, robótica, prática pedagógica, TV digital, educação desenvolvida em âmbito não-escolar, entre outros. Tais investigações são resultados de pesquisas desenvolvidas no Programa: algumas são resultados de teses e dissertações e outras foram produzidas por grupos de pesquisa. A teoria do jogo de Elkonin e a educação infantil

This paper analyzes the Psychology of Play developed by D. Elkonin and his followers through examining the central theses of the cultural-historical theory. The goal is to identify elements that can support the organization of early childhood education practices. The cultural-historical theses represent a solid theory about children's play, featuring an original contribution to understand the historical emergence of play and its social nature in ontogeny. Based on Cultural-historical theory of play, we conclude that early childhood education which considers play as the leading activity must relate to the experience of various spheres of social life and the content of human activities. It is understood that the goal of educational intervention in children play is the development of the social role represented in the game. It is argued that play should neither oppose nor prevail over other activities.

Qualidade na educação infantil em instituições brasileiras: contributos de pesquisas acadêmicas para o debate

This article presents elements that make up the quality of education in the age group of zero to five years, offered by institutions of Early Childhood Education in Brazil, based on research results disseminated in theses and dissertations that focus on this theme. It was used as the methodological procedure outlined mapping Brazilian literature of academic research related to the Post-Graduate Education, which focus on the issue in the period between 1996 and 2012. The results of the study provide insights on funding, teacher training, family, quality of care in the school systems, institutional assessment, perceptions of quality and educational practices that allow discuss the quality of early childhood education offered in Brazilian institutions. Moreover, considering that not convenient to take the concept of quality of early childhood education as universal as this is linked to the context, the conceptions about children and their education.

O uso da informação no âmbito acadêmico: o comportamento informacional de pós-graduandos da área de Educação

This study reports part of a broader research about information behavior of graduate students in Education. The research´s participants were nine masters and doctoral students from a graduate program in Education at a public university. The focus group technique was used to collect the data. The focus group sessions were observed and recorded. The recorded data were transcribed, categorized and then analyzed using the technique of content analysis. The main aspects achieved were: i) Identification’s forms of information resources for research; ii) Internet as source of information; iii) Academic Library’s services and resources use; iv) Training to use of electronic data base; v) Difficulties to perform the search; vi) Advisor’s influence on research development; and vii) Environmental factors that affect information seeking behavior. The main results reveal that the identification of information sources occurs, mainly, through references quoted on studies of the researched area; as well as the advisors’ influence in the information seeking behavior of the participants. The results, also, disclose some environmental aspects, as example, lack of time to search and discomfort caused by the libraries’ environment that influenced negatively the information behavior of the studied group.

Mobiliários adaptados para pessoas com paralisia cerebral: um levantamento das teses e dissertações produzidas no Brasil

The Assistive Technology makes the lives of people without disabilities more practical, but for people with disabilities it can make things possible. For these individuals can provide the conditions, making their limitations are not obstacles to their social and personal empowerment, and may contribute to their effective participation in tasks that were previously impossible, such as remaining seated correctly. A segment on which the necessary assistive technology works, is the adaptation of furniture such as chairs, tables, chairs-to-wheels for individuals with disabilities, as well as cerebral palsy. The study aimed to conduct a survey and brief description of theses and dissertations produced in Brazil on furniture adapted for students with cerebral palsy. We made searching in databases of libraries of major universities and federal state national banks, theses and dissertations. Nine studies were selected for description. It was concluded that there is a considerable array of professionals, both in engineering as the field of rehabilitation, to contribute in the adaptation, creation and even the manufacture of furniture for children with cerebral palsy and that the securities most studied are the chairs and their components.
