Actitudes hacia el catalán : un estudio sociolingüístico de principiantes del catalán en Barcelona

This study focuses on the Catalan language of Catalonia, a region located in the east of Spain. There are many immigrants living in this region who decide to learn the Catalan language in hope of finding a job or to integrate in the Catalan society. The main aim of this study was to discover the types of language attitudes the beginners of Catalan show towards this language (general, instrumental and integrative attitudes). Language attitudes are of importance because it can indicate the “health” of a minority language, such as is usually considered Catalan. The method applied was direct, where the informants had to answer a written questionnaire. The results of the study show positive attitudes towards the Catalan language and its general use in Catalonia. The main conclusions of the study were that the informants showed positive and slightly more instrumental attitudes towards Catalan, indicating that the main motive of learning the language was more of practical use than integrative motives.

Maria-Antònia Oliver o el plaer de narrar en femení

Maria-Antònia Oliver és una figura cabdal en la història de la novel·la policíaca en llengua catalana. Amb un personatge principal innovador en el panorama literari català dels anys vuitanta, Oliver destaca per una sèrie d’aspectes com són el seu personatge principal, feminista i representant del hard-boiled i la forta crítica social, especialment centrada en l’illa de Mallorca, aspectes que són objecte d’estudi en aquest article. Temes com el feminisme, l’impacte social del turisme o la situació de la llengua catalana a les Balears formen part de les seves obres i demostren el compromís social de l’autora mallorquina.

Una clave humanista de mediados del siglo XV para el Humanismo de la Corona de Aragón desde fines del siglo XIV: Ferran Valentí y el Prólogo a su traducción de las Paradoxa de Cicerón

In this article I study the Preface by Ferran Valentí to his own translation into Catalan of Cicero’s Paradoxa. Ferran Valentí was a humanist from Majorca, author in Catalan language who earned a Low Degree at the University of Bologna and who declared himself a devoted “son and pupil” of humanist Leonardo Bruni. Valentí made an analysis of the humanistic Canon in mid-15th century, including troubadours, Dante, Lullius, Latin literature classics and several Catalan authors, such as Bernat Metge. This proves that humanism was a true trend in the Crown of Aragon from the 2nd half of the 14th Century on.

Com Sona l’ESO: un exemple del tractament de la llengua i la literatura des de l’àrea de música dins del concepte d’ensenyament integral

Com Sona l'ESO és un projecte en què s’integren música i dansa, literatura, llengua i educació amb una doble finalitat: traure fora de les quatre parets de l’aula el treball que es fa dia a dia amb l’alumnat i oferir-los l’oportunitat d’actuar en directe damunt d’un escenari. En aquest article es descriu el treball dins i fora de l’aula que culmina en aquest espectacle durant 16 edicions està recorrent diferents poblacions i centres del territori lingüístic i es posa en valor el caràcter multidisciplinari, la implicació social, el protagonisme de l’alumnat i l’èxit d’un treball que esdevé plenament aprenentatge significatiu.
