EVOLUCAO DA CONCEPCAO DE NATUREZA E RELAÇÃO HOMEM/MEIO: ANALISE DE UNIDADES DE CONSERVAÇÃO NA AMERICA LATINA

O estabelecimento de Unidades de conservação é hoje um recurso usual quando se busca a proteção de ambientes naturais tidos como possuidores de grandes valores ecológicos. Esta, porém, não é uma prática recente. Tratando-se de América Latina, o primeiro parque nacional foi criado no México, em 1894. Sendo assim, este trabalho tem por objetivo compreender as formas históricas de manejo de unidades de conservação no contexto latino americano, percebendo, através da análise de suas diferentes tipologias a evolução da concepção de natureza. O manejo também permite delinear as diferentes formas do homem perceber e se relacionar com a natureza, seja este relacionamento de forma direta ou indireta. “[...] o planeta e a comunidade humana se confundem num todo único. A presença do homem é um fato em toda a face da Terra, e a ocupação que não se materializa é, todavia, politicamente existente.” (SANTOS, 2008, p. 99). Sendo assim, as distintas formas de “ocupação política” mediatizada pelo contexto das unidades de conservação são também um foco deste trabalho. Para tanto, lança-se mão das noções de preservacionismo e conservacionismo bem como daquelas relacionadas à relação homem natureza (num contexto de áreas protegidas), focando no manejo como a principal destas.

VULNERABILIDADE AGRÍCOLA DA PRODUÇÃO DE SOJA NA REGIÃO METROPOLITANA DE LONDRINA – PR: ANALISE DA SAFRA DE 2005/06

A produção de soja na região norte do estado do Paraná é responsável por contribuir imensurávelmente com a balança comercial do estado do Paraná, sabe-se que a soja possue um papel fundamental na economia agrícola da região norte do estado do Paraná onde se localizam as cidades de Cambé, Ibiporã, Londrina, Rolândia e Tamarana. O clima não é somente uma variável que marca o ritmo das estações do ano, é um fenômeno natural produzido pelo sistema Sol-Atmosfera-Terra, e exerce grande influência nas atividades humanas. Na agricultura, o clima pode ser aliado ou inimigo no plantio, no desenvolvimento, na produção e no rendimento final de grãos. Dessa forma, ao enfocar a soja como cultura líder na balança comercial brasileira, deve-se levar em consideração sua fisiologia que a define sendo uma cultura de verão, justamente pelo fato de germinar apenas com temperaturas superiores a 13º C. Para analisar possíveis interferências pluviométricas na cultura da soja, foram coletados dados de precipitação pluviométrica e de rendimento de soja das safras de 2005/06, 2006/07, 2007/08, 2008/09 e 2009/10. Os mapas cartográficos foram desenvolvidos segundo tais dados e contrapostos com o intuito de favorecer a análise dos resultados obtidos. Neste artigo, foram feitas analises especificamente das safras de 2005/06, sendo uma contribuição preliminar. O município de Londrina, tanto pela sua área territorial, quanto pelos investimentos no setor agrícola, destaca-se na produção de soja, exceto na safra de 2005/06, cujo rendimento final do grão foi inferior ao do município de Cambé. A precipitação média do mês de janeiro para o município de Londrina apresenta-se com média mensal de 76 mm, isso pode ser justificado pela ocorrência de um período de estiagem em janeiro de 2006 que afetou o município de Londrina, contribuindo com uma redução considerável no rendimento final da soja para o município.

Psychotherapy in Australia : clinical psychology and its approach to depression

In Australia, clinical psychology training is dominated by cognitive and behavioral treatments (CBTs), although there is exposure to other theoretical orientations. Since 2001, over 20% of general medical practitioners (GPs) have received training in CBT, and psychiatry training increasingly incorporates CBT elements. Psychotherapy by medical practitioners is financially supported by universal health care funding with supplementation by patients and their private health insurance. Federally funded health benefits for up to 12 psychology consultations per year are provided on referral from GPs and psychiatrists, and initial take up has been very strong. Mrs. A would be a typical patient for such a referral. However, she would not fulfil criteria for priority access from state-funded mental health services. Mrs. A would probably consult a GP and receive antidepressants, although she may also access a range of other community support programs. Access to and acceptance of psychotherapy would be greater in urban areas, and if she were of Anglo-Saxon and non- indigenous origin.

Edaravone containing isoindoline nitroxides for the potential treatment of cardiovascular ischaemia

A novel antioxidant for the potential treatment of ischaemia was designed by incorporating an isoindoline nitroxide into the framework of the free radical scavenger edaravone. 5-(3-Methyl-pyrazol-5-ol-1-yl)-1,1,3,3-tetramethylisoindolin-2-yloxyl 7 was prepared by N-arylation of 3-methyl-5-pyrazolone with 5-iodo-1,1,3,3-tetramethylisoindoline-2-yloxyl 8 in the presence of catalytic copper(I)iodide. Evaluation of 7, its methoxyamine derivative 10 and 5-carboxy-1,1,3,3-tetramethylisoindolin-2-yloxyl (CTMIO) against edaravone 1 in ischaemic rat atrial cardiomyocytes revealed significant decreases in cell death after prolonged ischaemia for each agent; however the protective effect of the novel antioxidant 7 (showing greater than 85% reduction in cell death at 100 μM) was significantly enhanced over that of edaravone 1 alone. Furthermore, the activity for 7 was found to be equal to or greater than the potent cardioprotective agent N6-cyclopentyladenosine (CPA). The methoxyamine adduct 10 and edaravone 1 showed no difference between the extent of reduction in cell death whilst CTMIO had only a modest protective effect.

Synthesis and evaluation of resveratrol-based nitroxides as potential treatments for hypertension

The synthesis and evaluation of novel resveratrol-based nitroxides have been explored for the potential treatment of hypertension. New methodology for the direct aryl iodination of isoindoline and isoindoline nitroxide using periodic acid and potassium iodide in concentrated sulphuric acid was developed. Diiodinated tetramethyl and tetraethyl isoindolines and a tetramethyl isoindoline nitroxide were prepared in excellent yields (70 – 82%). A diiodinated tetraethyl isoindoline nitroxide was generated from the corresponding nitroxide in modest yield (37%) alongside iodinated nitrones. The mono-iodinated species were also generated in modest yields (34 – 48%). Incorporation of the nitroxide unit into the structure of resveratrol was achieved using palladium-catalysed Heck coupling. Use of the previously prepared iodo products 5-iodo-1,1,3,3-tetramethylisoindolin-2-yloyl 18 and 5,6-diiodo-1,1,3,3-tetramethylisoindolin-2-yloyl 22 gave resveratrol nitroxides 12 and 13 in yields of 50% (optimized) and 1.6% respectively. Preliminary evaluation of the resveratrol analogue 12 as a treatment for hypertension was undertaken in the DOCA-salt rat model. A reduction in systolic blood pressure as well as alleviation of ventricular hypertrophy was observed. A larger study involving the DOCA salt rats is currently in progress.

A new method for the direct aryl iodination of isoindolines and isoindoline nitroxides which utilizes periodic acid and potassium iodide in sulfuric acid is presented. Di-iodo functionalized tetramethyl and tetraethyl isoindolines and a di-iodo tetramethyl isoindoline nitroxide were prepared in high yield (70-82%). The analogous mono-iodo species were afforded in modest yield (34-48%). Iodinated nitrones were also obtained from a tetraethyl isoindoline nitroxide.

Measuring Competence in Supervisees and Supervisors : Satisfaction and Related Reactions in Supervision

Supervision is a highly valued component of practitioner training. This chapter discusses the following: factors influencing perceived satisfaction and alliance; and how satisfaction, alliance, and supervision relationships are currently measured; and reviews issues with the concept and its assessment. Given the importance of the supervisory relationship and of the supervisory alliance for the effectiveness of supervision and for the welfare of supervisees, the routine, repeated measurement of both these concepts, together with supervisee satisfaction, also assumes considerable utility. The chapter describes a selection of some commonly used measures: Supervisee Satisfaction Questionnaire (SSQ), Supervisory Relationship Questionnaire (SRQ), Supervisory Relationship Measure (SRM), Supervision Attitude Scale (SAS), Supervisory Working Alliance Inventory (SWAI), Supervisory Styles Inventory (SSI), Role Conflict and Ambiguity Inventory (RCAIC), and Evaluation Process within Supervision Inventory (EPSI).

Charge distribution in and electric moments of some aliphatic acids

Using the treatment of Smith et al., charge distribution in and consequently the dipole moments of several aliphatic acids have been evaluated. The electric moments of chloro (2·86 D), bromo (2·90 D), iodo (2·06 D) and trichloro (3·00 D) acetic acids have been measured in dioxan solution at 35°. The experimental values are compared with those calculated theoretically and discussed in terms of the various possible structures.

Structural requirements for the induction and inhibition of 2,3-dihydroxybenzoic acid decarboxylase ofAspergillus niger

2,3-Dihydroxybenzoic acid decarboxylase inAspergillus niger was induced by many substrate analogs including salicylate and gentisate. Catechol, which is the product, induced the enzyme tenfold. The purified enzyme was competitively inhibited by manyortho substituted benzoic acids. The Ki values for salicylate,o-fluoro ando-chloro benzoic acids were 0.12 mM, 0.12 mM, and 0.13 mM respectively; these values were lower than the Km value for the substrate. As the size of the group in theortho position increased, as in the case of bromo- and iodo-derivatives, there was an increase in their Ki values. The C-2 hydroxyl group was essential both for the induction and for interaction with the enzyme. The C-3 hydroxyl group was not necessary for induction or inhibition, but it might be essential for the catalysis.

On the involvement of intramolecular protein disulfide in the irreversible inactivation of 3-hydroxy-3-methylglutaryl-CoA reductase by diallyl disulfide

Treatment with diallyl disulfide, a constituent of garlic oil, irreversibly inactivated microsomal and a soluble 50 kDa form of HMG-CoA reductase. No radioactivity was found to be protein-bound on treating the soluble enzyme with [35S]diallyl disulfide, indicating the absence of the mixed disulfide of the type allyl-S-S-protein. SDS-PAGE and Western blot analyses of the diallyl-disulfide-treated protein showed no traces of the dimer of the type protein-S-S-protein, but clearly indicated BME-reversible increased mobility, as expected of an intramolecular protein disulfide. The sulfhydryl groups, as measured by alkylation with iodo[2-14C]acetic acid, were found to decrease in the diallyl-disulfide-treated enzyme protein. Tryptic peptide analysis also gave support for the possible presence of disulfide-containing peptides in such a protein. It appears that diallyl disulfide inactivated HMG-CoA reductase by forming an internal protein disulfide that became inaccessible for reduction by DTT, and thereby retaining the inactive state of the enzyme.

Evaluation of the role of disordered organic fluorine in crystal packing: insights from halogen substituted benzanilides

The determination of the crystal and molecular structures of a large number of compounds containing the C(sp(2))-F bond has been investigated in detail in halogenated benzanilides and also in liquids, namely the fluorinated amines. It has been observed that when the fluorine atom is present in the ortho or meta position with respect to the amide functionality in benzanilides or the amino group in fluorinated amines which are liquids at room temperature, the fluorine atom exhibits positional disorder. This is associated with changes in patterns of intermolecular interactions which affect crystal packing. Furthermore, the presence of a fluorine atom on the benzanilide framework, in the presence of a heavier halogen (chloro, bromo and iodo), meta or ortho to the amide group does not eliminate the disorder associated with these molecules. In this article, we highlight the salient features present in halogenated compounds exhibiting disorder in the position of organic fluorine with concomitant changes in crystal packing. This feature is also compared with related compounds exhibiting similarity in electronic features, namely positional disorder.

Formal synthesis of degraded sterol (+)-aplykurodinone-1

The formal synthesis of aplykurodinone-1 is accomplished starting from a suitably functionalized bicyclic lactone having the requisite cis-fused ring junction with a quaternary chiral center that was assembled following a Cp2TiCl-mediated radical cyclization protocol. Our synthetic route further elaborates implementation of Grubbs ring closing metathesis (RCM), Eschenmoser-Claisen rearrangement and iodo-lactonization reactions for the synthesis of the final tricyclic precursor of the target molecule. Direito internacional público positivado : pactos internacionais em análise no Congresso Nacional entre 1988 e 2011

Dá sequência do estudo intitulado "A peça brasileira no cenário internacional em mil atos: reflexos do debate parlamentar entre 4 de outubro de 1988 e 31 de dezembro de 2010", com dois objetivos: a) inserir, no levantamento de dados anteriormente efetuado, relativo aos atos (ou pactos) internacionais celebrados pela República Federativa do Brasil, as informações novas, pertinentes ao ano de 2011, assim como informações adicionais referentes a 1988 (de 2 de janeiro e 3 de outubro, período imediatamente anterior à promulgação da Constituição de 1988); b) fazer a atualização geral de dados referentes ao período 1988-2011, fixando-se, como marco final, o início da sessão legislativa de 2012, recalculando-se os gráficos e tabelas apresentados no estudo anterior, para se traçar uma visão panorâmica quantitativa da tramitação legislativa de atos internacionais no Congresso Nacional, entre 1988 e 2011, indicando algumas tendências.
