Um brinde à cachaça: o patrimônio históricocultural e seus usos turísticos nos alambiques do Rio Grande do Norte

The study proposes to present a discussion about the value of cachaça as a cultural heritage and its relation with the touristic activities in the State of Rio Grande do Norte. Based on a discussion originated from historic studies related to the touristic sector, especially when it comes to gastronomy, cachaça is defined not only as an important instrument to the construction of identities, but, also, as an element able to weave social, political and economic relations. Therefore, a touristic product that can provide new destinations. The research was made through five alembics located on the East and Seridó regions of Rio Grande do Norte. To define the focus, it is necessary to refine this selection, especially when dealing with historical facts and memories from these establishment owners. Thus, it becomes necessary to consider the alembic trajectory, periods of larger productions and insertion in the touristic market. Through documental data collection and observations made in field tours, the research has a qualitative approach with descriptive and exploratory goal, methodology that allows us to approach issues around articulations among heritage, identity and tourism. "It was concluded that the state of Rio Grande do Norte has many tourist routes where handmade cachaça produced in the State can be inserted in any of these routes due to its potential searched in the research, as well as, it is possible to work in other perspective when it comes to ways of protecting this patrimony and strategies of incentive of the activity for the development and appreciation of local economy.

Avaliação do(s) impacto(s) do Processo de Reconhecimento, Validação e Certificação de Competências no Alentejo (2001-2005) [Tese apresentada à Universidade de Évora para a obtenção do Grau de Doutor em Ciências da Educação]. Évora: Universidade de Évora (policopiada)

O presente estudo avalia a forma como decorreu o processo de Reconhecimento, Validação e Certificação de Competências, no Alentejo, no período 2001-2005 e de que firma é que a certificação formal de competências ocorrida determinou os projectos de vida, pessoais e profissionais, dos adultos que a concluíram, com sucesso e organiza-se em oito capítulos. Sendo uma investigação de cariz descritivo e interpretativo, recorre a uma metodologia, simultaneamente, quantitativa e qualitativa. Verificou-se que os impactos do processo de RVCC verificam-se, maioritariamente, na dimensão pessoal, enquanto, na dimensão profissional, são residuais. São as mulheres quem mais protagonizou e valorizou o processo. Quinze por cento dos adultos inquiridos prosseguiu os estudos e a maioria pretende fazê-lo, a médio/longo prazo. No final do estudo, são apresentadas algumas sugestões e recomendações, assim como futuras linhas de trabalho. Salienta-se a necessidade de sensibilizar as empresas para a promoção e aproveitamento das qualificações dos seus colaboradores.

A IDEOLOGIA DO SUPRIMIDO: OU, COMO NÃO TEORIZAR A RESPEITO DA IDEOLOGIA

In this paper, I argue against the contemporary tendency to confine ideology to the sphere of subjectivity and point of view, as defended by Paul Simpson (1993) in his book Language, Ideology, and Point of View. My principal criticism against the view is that it simply amounts to a re-affirmation of certain of the conceptual categories with which we have for long been accustomed to think. Rather, I contend, we ought to try to interrogate those very categories with a view to teasing out the instabilities that characterise them. I argue that there is an urgent need to deconstruct the very opposition between ideology, point of view etc. on the one hand, and science, theory, or whatever that one might wish to posit on the other.

Syllable-timing in Brazilian Portuguese: uma crítica a Roy Major

This paper reintroduces the discussion about stress-timing in Brazilian Portuguese (BP). It begins by surveying some phonetic and phonological issues raised by the syllable- vs stress-timed dichotomy which culminated with the emergence of the p-center notion. Strict considerations of timing of V-V units and stress groups are taken into account to analyze the long term coupling of two basic oscillators (vowel and stress flow). This coupling allows a two-parameter characterization of language rhythms (coupling strength and speech rate) revealing that BP utterances present a high-degree of syllable-timing. A comparison with other languages, including European Portuguese, is also presented. The results analyzed indicate that Major's arguments for considering Portuguese (sic) as stress-timing are misleading.
