The Medical Physics has been developing very fast due to the progress of the technologies and to the increase of the concerns with cure of diseases. One of the Medical Physics main performances at the present time is the use of ionizing radiations for cancer treatment, especially, services as Radiotherapy. The radiotherapy technique uses ionizing radiation with therapeutic end of cancer controls, avoiding your proliferation and it worsens of the patient. For the treatment a radiation bunch is used, with rectangular form, that it passes through the different types of tissues of the patient's body, and depending on the attenuation and of the depth of the fabrics, a great amount of energy is deposited inside in different points of the body. Like this, to plan this treatment type it should be obtained the dimension of the distribution and dose absorption along the volume. For this, it is necessary in the planning of the treatment of the cancer for radiotherapy to build isodose curves, which are lines that represent points of same amount of dose to be deposited in the area to be treated. To aid the construction of the curves of form isodose to reach the best result in the planning of the treatment, in other words, a great planning, providing the maximum of dose in the tumor and saving the healthy and critical organs, it has been using mathematical tools and computational. A plan of cancer treatment for radiotherapy is considered great when all the parameters that involve the treatment, be them physical or biological, they were investigated and adapted individually for the patient. For that, is considered the type and the location of the tumor, worrying about the elimination of the cancer without damaging the healthy tissue of the treated area, mainly the risk organs, which are in general very sensitive to the radiations. A number of 170 individuals of the species Pimelodus maculatus, a Neotropical fish known as mandi was collected in three distinct locations of the Piracicaba river (Piracicaba, Santa Maria da Serra and Americana – SP0 from April 2009 to February 2010. A common species of catfish whose individuals exist in many neotropical basins was observed to get more information about a possible influence of the water conditions in distant parts of a same river to its condition and also to verify whether the stomach contents of fish collected in these distinct places may distinguish as a possible consequence of food availability. The species were studied by collecting biological data such as standard length (SL) in cm, their total weights (TW ) in grams and sexes to see the composition of fish present in the samples. Length-weight relationships are important means to investigate facts related to the condition of the species in these systems. The analysis was made by using covariance to observe if individuals of similar lengths collected in distinct places may be compared to this purpose. Usual methods to investigate relationships of stomach food contents were applied. By analyzing the condition factor, one may conclude that the mandis collected in the region of Santa Maria da Serra presented similar characteristics to those obtained in Piracicaba, but they differ in this aspect for individuals collected in Americana. This fact is not conclusive about the reasons of this situation, but it may be a first step to other studies in order to get more information about. The degree of stomach repletion may be a first approach to this possible explanation, as individuals of Piracicaba presented usually full stomachs and differed in this way to individuals collected in the two other places

The representation of real objects in virtual environments has applications in many areas, such as cartography, mixed reality and reverse engineering. The generation of these objects can be performed in two ways: manually, with CAD (Computer Aided Design) tools, or automatically, by means of surface reconstruction techniques. The simpler the 3D model, the easier it is to process and store it. Multiresolution reconstruction methods can generate polygonal meshes in different levels of detail and, to improve the response time of a computer program, distant objects can be represented with few details, while more detailed models are used in closer objects. This work presents a new approach to multiresolution surface reconstruction, particularly interesting to noisy and low definition data, for example, point clouds captured with Kinect sensor

Nos dias de hoje, com o grande interesse da população sobre esportes e lazer, a Educação Física vem se propagando e se desenvolvendo de diversas formas, entre elas a Escolar e a Acadêmica. Em função disso, surgiu o interesse de descobrir como são as aulas de Educação Física no Ensino Médio. Para tanto, procuramos averiguar, a partir da visão dos professores, quais são os principais pontos negativos da Proposta Curricular do Estado de São Paulo de Educação Física rede Pública Estadual de Ensino. Tendo por base os professores da rede Estadual de Ensino demos início a esta investigação. Para tanto, foi aplicado um questionário, contendo 6 questões, em 9 professores da “rede”. Após as análises, os resultados mostraram que grande partes dos entrevistados apóiam a iniciativa do Governo Estadual em criar a Propostas Curricular. Tais professores dizem também que o ensino melhorou, porém é necessário que melhore e que tanto o profissional de Educação Física como a disciplina escolar devem ser mais valorizadas.

An experimental study in dogs was accomplished to evaluate impedances at the acupuncture points and the relative false points. According to the physics concepts and the Ohm’ Law, an electrical circuit was set up to determine the impedance. This circuit was introduced into three experiments in anesthetized dogs with needles at selected points. In the first two experiments, was applied an alternating tension with 200Hz frequency in the circuit and, in the last experiment, the frequency was increased to 10kHz, the tensions and electrical currents were measured between every pair of points for the all experiments. The impedances were calculated with the values obtained by experiments. The analysis of impedance values indicated that there is a coherent relation between the results and the applied frequencies in circuit, so just at high frequency condition admits the correct measurement of total impedance, therefore the last experiment gave the result which agreed with the theory, that the impedances at acupuncture points are lower than the impedances at false points

The flow of Ricci is an analytical tool, and a similar equation for heat geometry, a diffusive process which acts on a variety of metrics Riemannian and thus can be used in mathematics to understand the topology of varieties and also in the study geometric theories. Thus, the Ricci curvature plays an important role in the General Theory of Relativity, characterized as a geometric theory, which is the dominant term in the Einstein field equations. The present work has as main objectives to develop and apply Ricci flow techniques to general relativity, in this case, a three-dimensional asymptotically flat Riemannian metric as a set of initial data for Einstein equations and establish relations and comparisons between them.

O câncer é uma doença que tem início quando ocorre uma mutação genética no DNA da célula, onde o mecanismo de controle do crescimento normal do tecido celular é alterado. O tratamento do câncer por radioterapia tem como objetivo a eliminação das células cancerígenas ou alívio dos sintomas. Este trabalho visa estudar conceitos envolvidos no planejamento do tratamento de câncer por radioterapia, o modelo de programação linear, os métodos Primal-Dual-Afim-Escala e Primal-Dual-Clássico e apresentar uma aplicação dos métodos para problemas gerais de otimização

Hazard analysis and critical control points (HACCP) is one of the main tools currently used to ensure safety, quality and integrity of foods. So, the aim of this study was to develop and implement the HACCP program in the processing of pasteurized grade A milk Checklists were used to assess on the level of the pre requisites programs and on the sanitary classification of the dairy industry and the results were used as references for the development of the HACCP system. A "decision tree" protocol was used for the identification of the critical control points (CCP). No physical or chemical CCP were identified, whereas pasteurization and packaging were considered biological CCP For these CCP, the limits for prevention, monitoring needs, corrective actions, critical limits and verification procedures were established. The pre requisites program was essential for the establishment of the system. The implementation of the HACCP for the processing of grade A pasteurized milk was efficient to control the biological hazards and enabled the product to comply with the legislation specifications and achieve safety.

We investigate in this work the behaviour of the decay to the fixed points, in particular along the bifurcations, for a family of one-dimensional logistic-like discrete mappings. We start with the logistic map focusing in the transcritical bifurcation. Next we investigate the convergence to the stationary state at the cubic map. At the end we generalise the procedure for a mapping of the logistic-like type. Near the fixed point, the dynamical variable varies slowly. This property allows us to approximate/rewrite the equation of differences, hence natural from discrete mappings, into an ordinary differential equation. We then solve such equation which furnishes the evolution towards the stationary state. Our numerical simulations confirm the theoretical results validating the above mentioned approximation
