The Ionospheric Disturbances – TIDs – are irregularities on the ionospheric plasma propagating in speeds in the order of tens to a few hundreds of meters per second. This present study detected and characterized the TIDs of LSTIDs (Large Scale Travelling Ionospheric Disturbance) type at low latitudes during intense geomagnetic storms and its propagation over the Brazilian sector. This work also shows as being the first to report systematically propagation of gravity waves over Natal. For this purpose, we used ionospheric records obtained from type of digisonde CADI (Canadiam Advanced Digital Ionosonde) located in Natal and the type DSP (Digisonde Portable Souder) located in Cachoeira Paulista, Fortaleza and São Luis, whereupon we used a dataset of 12 years collected by INPE (National Institute of Space Research). In this study, both calm days, that preceded the storms, and the geomagnetically disturbed days were related during the years 2000 and 1012, which cover a period of maximum and minimum solar activity. And it is presented the variations that happened in the electron density from region F of the ionosphere over the Brazilian sector, especially near the Equator (Natal, Fortaleza and São Luis), caused by ionospheric disturbances in the equatorial region during intense geomagnetic storms, because, as we know of the literature in this area, this phenomenon contributes positively to the emergence of LSTIDs in the auroral region, which may move to the equatorial region where a few cases have been documented and studied systematically. From the observation of signatures if TIDs in ionogram records, a study of the morphology of these events was performed and compared with the main characteristics of the wave of this phenomenon during great magnetic storms, i.e., DST <(-200 nT) and KP > 6. Thus, we obtained the main characteristics of TIDs over our region, i.e., period, vertical wavelength, phase and propagation speed, as well as the delay of these disturbances compared to the beginning of the magnetic storms to the Brazilian Sector.

This paper focuses on the construction of the narrative for elementary school students, searching to identify strategies they employed in the production of narrative texts representative of miniconto genre. Therefore, we take a sample forty texts produced by students of 6 and 9 years of basic education, twenty in the 6th year students (ten public school and ten private school) and twenty students in 9th grade (distributed similarly between public education and private). In general, we aim to understand the mechanisms by which producers build their narratives, as well as providing input for analysis of textual production of this genre. This research is based on Functional-Linguistic assumptions of the American side, inspired by Givón (2001), Thompson (2005), Hopper (1987), Bybee (2010), Traugott (2003), Martelotta (2008), Furtado da Cunha (2011), among others. In addition, from the theoretical framework presented by Labov (1972) about the narrative, coupled with Batoréo contribution (1998), we observed the recurring elements in the structure of narratives under study: abstract, orientation, complication, resolution, evaluation and coda. Also approached, but that in a complementary way, the notion of gender presented in Marcuschi (2002). This is a research quantitative and qualitative, with descriptive and analytical-interpretive bias. In corpus analysis, we consider the following categories: gender discourse miniconto; compositional structure of the narrative; informativeness (discursive progression, thematic coherence and narrative, topical-referential distribution); informative relevance (figure / ground). At the end of the work, our initial hypothesis of the better performance of students in 9th grade, compared to 6, and the particular context of education in relation to the public context, not confirmed, since, in the comparative study revealed that the groups have similar performance as the construction of the narrative, making use of the same strategies in its construction.

O principal objetivo deste trabalho é tentar dar um contributo para a perceção da necessidade de compreender que a adoção de inovações numa organização é em primeiro lugar determinada pela dimensão cultural do CEO e pela sua capacidade de exercer influência enquanto líder. Que ele deve ser o motor das inovações permitindo que a organização se autonomize - que a deixe crescer e oriente na sua caminhada - e que saiba posicionar-se com a distância devida, quando for mais conveniente para toda a estrutura. Este posicionamento não significa alheamento das circunstâncias inerentes ao “crescimento” que a organização enfrenta, mas antes estar nos bastidores a observar e a desenvolver uma gestão de influência, levando os colaboradores a fazerem correções de trajeto por compreensão da necessidade do todo e não pela sua atuação enquanto líder omnipresente. Demasiadas vezes é dada ênfase à inovação nalgumas empresas ou sectores, quando na verdade o que acontece não é mais de que operações de cosmética, pouco consistentes e tudo menos perenes. No entanto, muito há para descobrir sobre os fatores relacionados com as tomadas de decisão relativas à adoção de inovações e de como a probabilidade de adoção de inovações pode ser aumentada. A inovação é um instrumento que as organizações têm para tentar garantir um reconhecimento e um posicionamento na mente dos clientes. A sua sobrevivência estará inexoravelmente ligada à sua capacidade de se reinventar. Existem várias dimensões inferir da capacidade de inovação de uma organização. Neste estudo vamos abordar a dimensão pessoal do líder enquanto motor e dinamizador dos processos de inovação da organização

Esta investigação encontrou a sua fundamentação numa crescente preocupação sobre a questão da toxicodependência, uma problemática complexa, que até aos nossos dias não tem encontrado uma resposta segura para a sua resolução. O fenómeno da toxicodependência é um problema que acontece em toda a dimensão social. Nos últimos anos a incidência do consumo de drogas ilícitas tem aumentado de forma preocupante na nossa sociedade e em particular nas mulheres. Toda esta problemática da toxicodependência adquire dimensões ainda mais complexas e preocupantes nas situações de gravidez e de maternidade. Esta investigação tem como objectivo conhecer e analisar a experiência de vida e os sentimentos de mães toxicodependentes internadas numa comunidade terapêutica. A opção metodológica do estudo incide numa abordagem qualitativa, de natureza descritiva e de orientação fenomenológica, procurando deste modo conhecer melhor a globalidade dos fenómenos e a sua compreensão como experiência, tal como ela é vivida e tal como esta é definida pelas utentes. Entre outras conclusões, destacamos, a emergência de significações existenciais para a mulher a partir da experiência vivida no mundo da droga, assim como os sentimentos e emoções vividos pela experiência da maternidade. O internamento na comunidade terapêutica é vivido como positivo, ressaltando o crescimento pessoal uma vez que esta experiência proporcionou uma reflexão sobre a sua própria vida, perspectivando assim um projecto vida, um recomeçar.

This research aimed at relating coordination and control forms to organizational performance. The multicase study was applied in two public high schools: Centro Federal de Educação Tecnológica do Rio Grande do Norte and Floriano Cavalcanti. In order to accomplish these objectives, it was developed a qualitative analysis and considered coordination and control forms of several authors. Also was considered Sander´s (1984) model of organizational performance. The mentioned model considers two criteria to analyze organizational performance: one instrumental (efficiency and efficacy) and other substantive (effectiveness e relevance). The research attempts to show the importance of balancing these criteria in a way that effectiveness and relevance becomes more important at schools. It was proven that the use of bureaucratic coordination forms has the power to influence the evaluation on the instrumental technique. At the same time, it was observed that the use of mechanisms based on the autonomy of the school is related to efficiency and efficacy. The object of this research can be considered successful

Currently the organizations are passing for continuous cycles of changes due to necessity of survival in the work market. The administration of the future points a way to the organizations of today and tomorrow, the search of the competitiveness from loyalty and motivation of its staff. Of this form, the model of the Auditoria do Sistema Humano (ASH), developed for Spanish researchers and that now it is being applied in Brazil, contemplates a series of dimensions about Human Resources management quality in the companies and the organizational effectiveness, such as the environment where the company is inserted, the strategies, the organizational drawing, the psychological and psychosocial processes, e the reached results. In this direction, the present research analyzed the factors of job satisfaction and organizational commitment, making, also, a relation of causality between the same ones. The quantitative-descriptive research had as population the employees of twenty three nourishing industries of the State of Rio Grande do Norte (Brazil), registered in the Federacy of the Industries of the state. The collection of the data occurred for the months of October of 2005 and March of 2006, by means of the application of questionnaire of model ASH. The sample was composed for 197 employees, however it was observed presence of five outliers, that they had been excluded from the analysis of the data. To extract the dimensions of the satisfaction and the commitment and identification the factorial analysis was used, with extraction method of principal components, rotation Varimax and normalization Kaiser. The gotten dimensions had been evaluated with the calculation of the coefficient Alpha of Cronbach. The factorial analysis of the pointers of the organizational commitment and identification had extracted ten factors. Of these, four had gotten significance of the analyses inside: affective commitment, values commitment, continuance commitment and necessity commitment. The result of the analysis of the pointers of job satisfaction indicated four factors: extrinsic, motivations, relation with the friends and auto-accomplishment. To deal with the data the relation between job satisfaction and organizational commitment it was used technique of multiple regression. The correlation between commitment and satisfaction was satisfactory, detaching the affective commitment with bigger index of correlation, followed of the affective one

This study shows the results of an exploratory-descriptive research that aimed to identify the latent dimensions of communication, as well as finding relations between such dimensions and organizational image. The sample came to a total of 267 respondents, being 89 managers or owners and 178 salespeople of clothing and footwear stores that are situated in the main five shopping centers located in Natal, capital of Rio Grande do Norte. The collection of the data was made by the use of two structuralized and validated instruments, being the answers measured in the likert scale of 6 points. For the measurement of communication it was used the instrument developed by Downs and Hazen (2002), made up of 8 latent dimensions and 32 indicators. For the image it was used the model of Mael and Ashforth (1992) that contains 5 indicators. The analysis of the data was made through of the use of statistical techniques of factorial analysis and structural equations modeling. The results of the factorial analysis demonstrated communication as being formed by five latent dimensions. The modeling, on the other hand, demonstrated to exist positive relations between communication and organizational image, whose results revealed that the image is influenced by the communication with the supervisor, by the organizational integration and as being stronger explained by the vertical communication

O desenvolvimento da ciência organizacional tem sido marcado pelo desdobramento de modas e modelos nas mais diversas áreas. O presente artigo reflecte sobre o seu papel, particularmente, por via dos estudos de caso. Sendo as escolas de negócios e de gestão um dos actores importantes na difusão destes modismos, o método dos casos, enquanto estratégia pedagógica, é entendido aqui como um importante veículo de coordenação entre a investigação científica organizacional e a sua realidade. Contribui para a aproximação entre os vários intervenientes neste processo (professores, alunos, gestores, líderes e empresários). Advoga-se a sua importância por estabelecer uma ponte entre a academia e a o mundo organizacional, entre o conhecimento teórico dos académicos e o conhecimento tácito dos agentes empresariais.

O presente artigo relata uma intervenção numa PME do sector informático, tendo em vista um processo de mudança organizacional no sentido de uma maior proatividade dos colaboradores. A apresentação do caso inclui o diagnóstico, a intervenção propriamente dita e o início da execução dos projetos de inovação, baseando-se num modelo adaptado dos métodos de mudança organizacional de terceira geração, com grupos grandes. Em complemento dos passos seguidos, foram utilizadas técnicas de análise das redes sociais, no sentido de determinar as redes de comunicação existentes, bem como de análise de conteúdo a histórias de sucesso entretanto recolhidas, para definir os pontos fortes de uma futura cultura organizacional. Os resultados obtidos clarificaram as características desejáveis de um método de intervenção com grupos grandes, adaptado ao caso das empresas portuguesas e eficaz no desenho de projetos de inovação organizacional. A análise das histórias de sucesso contribuiu para determinar os pontos fortes de uma orientação futura desejável, enquanto a utilização de medidas relativas às redes sociais permitiu analisar a organização informal existente. Se bem que o presente trabalho não inclua a realização dos projetos, por dificuldades entretanto surgidas na empresa, pensa-se que pode constituir uma base sólida para aplicação em intervenções futuras.
