Fóruns virtuais de REDD: análise da função comunicativa na construção de políticas orientadas por organizações da sociedade civil

Frente a evidências científicas que apontam o desflorestamento da Amazônia como fator preponderante na liberação de gases do efeito estufa à atmosfera e na consequente intensificação das mudanças climáticas globais, organizações não-governamentais e ambientalistas criaram fóruns temáticos sobre a Redução de Emissões por Desmatamento e Degradação florestal (REDD). Sob a premissa de intercambiar informações e promover a articulação e o debate público, essas iniciativas reúnem diferentes atores sociais, sob a coordenação de organizações da própria sociedade civil, tendo a internet como principal lugar de referência. Considerando a perspectiva democrática aberta pela noção habermasiana de esfera pública e com base em critérios fundamentais à publicidade social, relacionados às funções de dar visibilidade e promover o debate público, a análise de quatro espaços virtuais permitiu uma reflexão sobre a forma contemporânea de atuação das organizações não-governamentais ambientalistas e as potencialidades de atuação política trazidas por novas Tecnologias de Informação e Comunicação (TIC), ainda não apropriadas de forma plena ou efetiva por esse e outros setores da sociedade. Os resultados da pesquisa apontam que, na prática, tais fóruns atendem satisfatoriamente a nenhuma das funções: não esclarecem os usuários quanto ao assunto e tão pouco são capazes de fomentar discussões que resultem em desdobramentos em prol da coletividade. Isso resulta na perda da qualidade democrática a que se propõem e ainda reforça o efeito do “silenciamento” sobre as populações locais, que veem os seus anseios e necessidades representados por essas ONGs sem que essas entidades sejam real e necessariamente representativas de seus interesses.

Segurança nacional, soberania e sociedade civil

Este artigo pretende sustentar que, no atual quadro histórico mundial, o problema da segurança nacional e da soberania não pode ser analisado com os mesmos conceitos de antes: não é mais uma questão do Estado em sentido estrito, nem muito menos um problema militar, ainda que continue a ser uma questão de Estado. O problema deixou de pertencer exclusivamente ao campo das relações entre Estados e tornou-se um problema das comunidades como um todo, povos, governos, empresas, sociedades civis, cidadãos. Ultrapassou as fronteiras nacionais, por mais que continue a se enraizar em experiências nacionais concretas e a encontrar nelas boa parte de suas determinações. Justamente por isto, não pode ser resolvido nem “fora” do Estado ou “sem” o Estado, nem exclusivamente pelo Estado.

A construção da notícia no portal choike.org: comunicação alternativa na internet

This project aims to study the influence of information technology in the construction of new forms of citizenship. A large space as possible by the Internet allows the emergence of alternative news sources, as opposed to the means of mass communication. The research will take from the study of the news portal Choike.org. Maintained by civil society representatives, the website has a proposal to address topics that are infrequent in the media hegemony. To facilitate the study, we established a cut. Let's look at five bulletins Choike.org portal between the years 2005 and 2010 that address the issue of agrarian reform in Latin America, especially in Brazil. The issue is discussed by the media in general, however has more emphasis between the means of alternative journalism. For Choike.org portal, agrarian reform this intrinsically linked to social development. Therefore, this analysis seeks to highlight the role of new technologies as an important tool to aid discussion of the issue in the media as having specific focus to the issue of land reform

Social Watch: espaço alternativo para a comunicação da sociedade civil global

The text aims to show how Social Watch alternative site contributes to the construction of world citizenship to publish proposals for non-governmental organizations (NGOs), identified with groups excluded from traditional means of mass communication. The structure of the site is analyzed and studied in depth one of its publications, the Bulletin of August 2014, using some resources from the methodology of the framing and content analysis. The analysis shows that, in fact, the site is presented as place where civil society can express themselves and collect public power projects and proposals to increase the global citizenship.

Bamboo as sustainable material used in design and civil construction: species, management, characterization and applications

The use of bamboo as construction and raw material for producing products can be considered a feasible alternative to the abusive use of steel, concrete and oil byproducts. Its use can also reduce the pressure on the use of wood from native and planted forests. Although there are thousands of bamboo species spread about the world and Brazil itself has hundreds of native species, the use and basic knowledge of its characteristics and applications are still little known and little disseminated. This paper's main objective is to introduce the species, the management phases, the physical and mechanical characteristics and the experiences in using bamboo in design and civil construction as per the Bamboo Project implemented at UNESP, Bauru campus since 1994. The results are divided into: a) Field activities - description of the technological species of interest, production chain flows, types of preservative treatments and clump management practices for the development, adaptation and production of different species of culms; b) Lab experiments - physical and mechanical characterization of culms processed as laminated strips and as composite material (glue laminated bamboo – glubam); c) Uses in projects - experiences with natural bamboo and glubam in design, architecture and civil construction projects. In the final remarks, the study aims to demonstrate, through practical and laboratory results, the material's multi-functionality and the feasibility in using bamboo as a sustainable material.

La rivoluzione del marketing televisivo tra internet, applicazioni e web broadcasting

In questa tesi ci focalizzeremo sul connubio TV ed internet che rivoluzionerà l’erogazione dei servizi verso i telespettatori e di conseguenza il marketing pubblicitario in questo contesto. Partiremo dalla storia della televisione in Italia e dei dispositivi TV per poi analizzare i primi fenomeni di utilizzo televisivo del canale web e la conseguente nascita dei primi social media e servizi di video on demand. La seconda parte di questa tesi farà una larga panoramica sul marketing televisivo ed il web marketing, fino ad arrivare al punto di massima prossimità tra i due canali, ovvero l’advertising correlato ai contenuti video presenti sul web. Nella terza ed ultima parte analizzeremo le prime piattaforme di WebTV e servizi di internet television, per poi focalizzarci sui probabili risvolti e prospettive future sia a livello di fruizione dei contenuti che pubblicitario. Questo fenomeno avrà una netta influenza nel Marketing considerando che dal 1984 la TV è il mezzo che raccoglie la maggior parte degli investimenti pubblicitari ed il web è il media in maggiore ascesa a livello di penetrazione e popolarità negli ultimi anni.

Civil Liability as an Enforcement Tool of Securities Underwriter Gatekeeping Duty

This book is dedicated to the Law and Economics analysis of civil liability of securities underwriters for the damage caused by material misstatements of corporate information by securities issuers. It seeks to answer a series of important questions. Who the are underwriters and what is their main role in the securities offering? Why there is a need for legal intervention in the underwriting market? What is so special about civil liability as an enforcement tool? How is civil liability used in a real world and does it really reach its goals? Finally, is there a need for a change and, if so, by what means?
