Introduction: The request of three-dimensional images (3D) of the dentomaxillofacial complex has increased. Hence, new possibilities for assessment, treatment as well as follow-up after treatment have increased their importance with the use of cone beam computed tomography (CBCT). The images in two dimensions (2D) have inherent problems that can be solved with treedimensional images assessment. Objectives: To clarify the main doubts about the operational mechanism of complementary diagnostic method; to explain the advantages and disadvantages, to discuss the effective radiation dose and possible applications in orthodontia. Conclusion: The information generated by 2D images from the CBCT does not show differences that may endanger the orthodontic planning when compared with the images of 2D conventional radiographs. The effective radiation dose received by the patient should not be considered as a limiting factor of the tomography exam request.

This study was qualitative in nature and aimed to investigate the possible interference of spiritual experiences with the subjective perception of quality of life. The perspectives of civil servants in education and health services were compared. The study was developed through bibliographic and exploratory research, and the instrument used for data collection for the exploratory research was the WHOQOL-bref, which was applied in two stages: before and after experiences with spiritual activities. The purposive sample used in this study was composed of civil servants working in health and education administrative sectors of the Brazilian Unified Health System and a State University, respectively, with the intention of broadening the understanding about the perception of quality of life in civil servants from different sectors. The exploratory research of the study was carried out in three stages. The first was a two-phase data collection, before and after experiences with spiritual activities offered to civil servants who worked in the health care field, as well as the analysis of the results of this step. The second stage was the collection of data before and after experiences with spiritual activities offered to civil servants who worked in the administrative sector of education in a public university, besides the analysis of the results of this step. The third stage consisted of a comparison of the results obtained in the preceding two steps. The data resulting from the use of the research instrument for both samples were analyzed via Thematic Content Analysis. A questionnaire containing 26 questions based on four main themes was used. The first two questions were related to perceived quality of life and health satisfaction and they were not part of the specific domains. Revolução constitucionalista de 32: principais motivações da Frente Única Paulista

This paper aims to analyze the Constitutionalist Movement in 1932, trying to understand, more specifically, the political end sought by the Front Unique Paulista, on a literal translation, union of the political parties of São Paulo (Republican Party Paulista and Democratic Party). The research is motivated by the need to understand the political project of FUP with the movement and the existing motivations why it was articulated. The comprehension of the constitutionalists' reasons is relevant to understanding the history of the revolution, from its origin to its outcome. Based on literature and its historical analysis, the paper will demonstrate that the Front, with the advent of the Constitutionalist Revolution of 1932, had as its main purpose regain political control of the state of São Paulo lost with the revolution of 1930. More than the vaunted concern with the implementation of a new constitution for the nation, the FUP leaders had intended to retrieve the lost power with the movement of 30 and the rise of Getulio Vargas to power. Under a banner to fight for a new constitution and the expected change from a totalitarian and centralized state imposed by Vargas for a more autonomous state, the cause of São Paulo enticed sympathy and support from the community, whose social history always harbored separatist ideas, even that they have never been carried out to its ultimate consequences
