This paper aims to encourage critical reflection on what are key and pressing social and political issues surrounding the Paralympics Games. The focus of the paper is personal narratives of six current elite Paralympic athletes who have participated in at least one Paralympic Games. In response to critical stimuli presented in the form of five ‘unfinished stories’, the self-reflexive, personal, compelling narrative reflections of these individuals were (re)presented for each of the stories as a composite narrative. The stories expose questions over fear, despair, freedom, hope, love, oppression, hatred, hurt, terror, (in)equality, peace, performance and impairment. To really learn from London and reflect for Rio, we need academic work that can understand sport, sporting bodies and physical activity as important ‘sites’ through which social forces, discourses, institutions and processes congregate, congeal and are contested in a manner that contributes to the shaping of human relations, subjectivities, and experiences in particular, contextually contingent ways.

Voice has been a persistent and recurring metaphor in English teaching. Conceptually, it took centre stage in Australia in the 1980s through writing process pedagogies, where students were advised to find their own voices in writing, teachers were advised to listen to student voices, and a 'clear personal voice' in writing was regarded as the mark of an effective writer (Gilbert 1990, p. 61). Voice has also played a central role in a variety of critical and emancipatory pedagogies where it has been used as a motivation to write, as a mode of politicisation, and as a way to understand and disrupt patriarchy and other oppressive social formations.

Recognition of the important role schools play in the promotion of student well-being can be seen in the growing number of policies and programs being implemented in schools across Australia. This paper reports on some initial data from focus group interviews with Year 9 and 10 girls involved in the pilot of a health and physical activity intervention designed to connect them to their local community and reconnect them with their school and their peers. The aim of the program was to build connectedness and resilience by engaging young women in non-traditional physical activities whilst providing them with a sound understanding of health issues relevant to adolescent girls. Situated in a relatively isolated rural community 200 kilometres south-east of Melbourne the program was overwhelmingly delivered by regional and local agencies in conjunction with the local secondary school. The intervention was built on a partnerships model designed with the purpose of increasing participation and access for young women whilst building a sustainable program run in partnership between the school and local agencies and services. The initial data from this pilot indicates the program is having a positive impact on the young women's sense of self and their bodies, their relationships with their peers and in reducing bullying behaviour amongst the girls. However, the data raises some important questions around the adequacy of school-based health education, and the sustainability of approaches designed to be delivered by outside agencies rather than classroom teachers.

The constitution of climate change as an ‘emergency’ invites an appeal to sovereign
power that is troubling in the context of Australia’s colonial history. Climate change is
an unsettling and dispossessing force that, while unprecedented in many ways, can be situated among a series of environmental and social crises that have shaped a discourse of anxious or insecure non-Indigenous belonging in this country. This discourse seeks to render non-Indigenous Australian place as secure and absolute, and understands environmental change as a threat to this goal. This threat appeals to an emergency framing, and in turn to a reassertion, in line with the insights of Agamben, of an exclusive sovereignty that rehearses the foundational dispossessions of colonization. At the same time, climate change is initiating new ways of conceptualizing human relations with place that challenge the value of sovereign status. It enacts realities that refuse a singular emergency and instead generate community from a reorientation of places, times and more-than-human relations. Thought in this way as a creative force that is shaping communities and environments, climate change becomes a source of critical insight for the possibilities of a decolonized future.

This dissertation presents a research aimed at identifying and explaining the individual perceptions as far as the introduction of computer technology concerning the organization change process and the reason underlying those changes, utilizing for study purposes, a customer attendance agency of INSS , located in São Luís-MA, which data collection was carried out by interviews with three managers and application of to thirty employees, all of them working at the unit researched. The core point was to identify feelings and perceptions of individuals, and the reason steering the change actions deployed in this office. Based on this perception, it is presented a literature review on the main thinkers who discussed the role, and the relevance of reasoning in the development of human relations, both in the organizations and in society. To start with, Max Weber thinking on rationality was introduced, on the sequence, the discussion raised by the Frankfurt School in its first phase, mainly on the Max Horkheimer thinking and finally it is shown a summary of Jurgen Habermas thinking, mainly concerning its communicative action theory proposed as a path to emancipation of individual of current instrumental reasoning. Summing up, we can conclude from this research that perceptions, feelings and opinions indicate that the institution uses to discuss with the civil servants the implementation of change process. For those servants the excessive functional control, the limitation of knowledge production and an artificial functional integration are consequences of the shape and intensity, as well as of computer technologies deployed in the institution. It is also shared by most of civil servants, including managers, that the overall participation would have more validity and would decrease the resistance to those changes. And it is also worth registering that despite of the servants having job stability, only 50% have positive expectations as far as its future in the institution.

O objetivo do presente trabalho e o de propor um modelo teórico de atuação para a Psicologia Organizacional calcado nos seguintes fundamentos: a visão dialética da interação indivíduo/organização proporcionada pela reavaliação do conceito de inclusão parcial nos papéis de Floyd Allport; a recuperação da memória dos acontecimentos passados que influenciam a dinâmica a teoria da competência comunicativa de Juergen Habermas e o método dos grupos operativos de Pichon Riviere. A trajetória percorrida para a concretização deste propósito partiu dos pressupostos de Kuhn, através da formulação de uma hipótese inicial de que os problemas enfrentados pela Psicologia Organizacional decorrem de crenças que orientam a produção de conhecimentos na área. Com a finalidade de comprovar-se a afirmação anterior estabeleceu-se uma análise das diversas correntes responsáveis pelas principais contribuições teóricas no campo categorizando-as nos seguintes paradigmas: burocrático, sistema aberto, relações humanas, humanista e da contingência e indicando-se, simultaneamente, os obstáculos epistemológicos apresentados pelos respectivos paradigmas. A seguir buscou-se, nas contribuições dos teóricos ligados ao movimento filosófico - denominado Escola de Frankfurt - aquelas julgadas as mais significativas à compreensão dos fenômenos, objeto da Psicologia Organizacional. Estas contribuições constituiram-se, assim, em sustentação para o modelo proposto. Como consequência da adoção do paradigma frankfurteano obteve-se uma reorientação no campo e no objeto da Psicologia Organizacional, permitindo-se, também, vislumbrar com maior clareza uma articulação com os campos de atuação da Psicologia do Trabalho e da Psicologia Institucional.

Nos últimos anos, a comunidade acadêmica e os profissionais interessados em Coaching mostram-se cada vez mais aplicados em avançar na correta interpretação das abordagens, dos paradigmas e dos caminhos que levam aos resultados esperados pelos clientes. Todos buscam entender como evitar situações indesejáveis e, ainda mais, quais os segredos para transformar aquele processo em uma intervenção bem sucedida. Multiplicam-se os estudos e as pesquisas; reformulam-se os modelos teóricos e empíricos que tentam explicar a essência do relacionamento entre quem orienta o processo (coach) e o seu cliente (coachee). Porém, nestes tempos modernos, a expectativa que mais frequentemente está presente é a de como alcançar o sucesso e avaliar os resultados. Existirá um modelo especial que possa responder a esses exigentes requisitos? Pesquisas divulgadas, no Brasil e exterior, reconhecem que diferenças culturais e sociais podem interferir no processo de Coaching. O que nos leva, já de início, a depender de uma conceituação, ou seja, como definir o “sucesso em Coaching”. São restritos os estudos com ampla amostra para análise e escassos os trabalhos centrados no contexto brasileiro. Poucos estudos têm foco na avaliação de fatores e/ou de indicadores (por vezes, nominados critérios) presentes no “sucesso em Coaching”. A nossa motivação foi a de encaminhar um estudo que é, ao mesmo tempo, empírico e exploratório, com a pretensão de enfrentar e, se possível, superar as limitações citadas. Idealizamos e conduzimos um trabalho que tem resultado validado sob a perspectiva estatística e adequado ao contexto brasileiro. O planejamento cercou-se de cuidados na obtenção de dados, parte deles utilizada para além das fronteiras desta dissertação, contribuindo com o acadêmico e o praticante interessado em Coaching. Ao final desta dissertação, temos a convicção de que teremos uma adequada resposta para a pergunta de pesquisa: no Brasil, como as pessoas que passaram pelo processo de Coaching explicam essa sua experiência e definem o que é alcançar o sucesso?

O objetivo do presente trabalho é analisar a plausividade da tese da mutação constitucional como mecanismo de efetivação da Constituição da República Federativa Brasil de 1988 e a partir dos 6 (seis) principais julgados do Supremo Tribunal Federal verificar se os limites impostos a esse fenômeno estão sendo respeitados. Com objetivo de comprovar esta tese foi estudado desde a opção do poder constituinte originário em atribuir aspecto rígido a Constituição pátria, permitindo que algumas matérias de seu texto através de mecanismos específicos possam ser alterados, até a legitimidade reflexa dos ministros do STF para atuarem como legisladores positivos alterando o sentido da norma sem modificação de seu conteúdo. A exposição dos limites impostos a mutação constitucional também foi alvo de especial destaque, pois somente a partir da compreensão destes seria possível uma análise sobre eventual extrapolação de competência do Poder Judiciário. A partir dos julgados do STF verificamos que a mutação constitucional está sendo aplicada dentro os limites impostos, logo este instituto atingiu seu objetivo central de aproximar as normas constitucionais a realidade da sociedade sem ferir o princípio da Separação de Poderes. Como resultado concluímos que a mutação constitucional a partir do cenário político atual que assume a asfixia e a consequente morosidade do Poder Legislativo, é um instrumento imprescindível para dar efetividade aos preceitos e princípios fundamentais da Constituição. Na atual conjuntura abdicar deste valioso instrumento seria o mesmo que assumir o fracasso e a inobservância de todo ordenamento jurídico, já que este não conseguirá reger as relações humanas da sociedade.

The thesis intends to discuss the ethics by the way of love. So, it uses as a mention the musical work and the set of attitudes of the group that changed the way of thinking across the 20th Century mass-comm, entering a new way of thinking about the World: The Beatles. Analyzing the lyrics and the writing of the songs was searched the comprehension of he intrinsic love message at the Ethics it expresses. At the musical art of The Beatles political messages had been announced in a time that the World sought a Ethic way beyond the several declared war and the Cold War. Taking the Edgar Morin works as a base, O método 6, Ética (2005), it sought to understand the idea who permeates the human relations: the good, the possible, the necessary. Another works used as a cognitive base were Meus demônios (2003), Cultura de massas no Século XX: neurose (2005), Cultura de massas no Século XX (2006), The Beatles Anthology (2000) and Many years from now (2000). Holding the Ethics idea showed by Morin were established imaginary lines that perpass the behavior of the group known in the entire World understood till nowadays as tolerance, comprehension, peace, love and endurance messengers. The Beatles operate during the sixties a musical reborn, which allowed to the people the discussion and the reflexion about the World and the human being new behavior,endurance but acting with tolerance. Permeating the basic study, we find the Beatles way, the group origin, the fast walk till success, the spiritual choice, who guide their behavior and the end of the band. The music used as a masscomp instrument passes by the condition of a simple way of communicating. It deeply action feeds feelings, allows transcendence and is showed as target of human being transformation. The Ethics in music passes by the ideological barriers and becomes to comprehension with a clear synthony for the man, cause the polyphony and the new musical order establish the messages worldwide

The present work highlights the importance of Dialogue in dealing with situations of crisis, and human conflicts. It has a starting point in some ideas of David Bohm, and in so doing, it presents itself with the challenge of testing the premise that dialogical strategies, of thought and action, can make the human choices inherent to those situations, more coherent and creative. They also allow us to elucidate and grasp them, towards broader comprehension and resolution, while keeping the framework of consistent assessment. However, we believe that said strategies are not, necessarily, problem solvers. With that in mind, we expanded the notion of Dialogue , systematizing dialogical visions of the world, derived from the ideas of David Bohm, Paulo Freire and Mikhail Bakhtin, in which they give priority to the Dialogue component, in all human relations within crucial contexts. From the elaboration of that systemic and dialogical interface, in which Dialogue appears as common theme, and pervasive tool, we detected the emerging of ancillary themes such as Liberty , Consciousness , Creativity , Ethics and Responsibility . We see these themes as ways of comprehending Life, as each one embodies interests, needs and shared human motivations. We have articulated them as a network, and added to that the need of Reflection in conjunction with Dialogue as a watchful call for noticing the incoherence

Monoculture of mind This idea, presented by Vandana Shiva, reflects the phase that we have experienced in the world: a notion of civilization that, since many decades, characterized by a technocratic big trend, has been shown as dominant and hegemonic. Based on a thinking and acting, felling and whishing standardization, this wave ends implying in what can be called of humanity‟s crisis at civilizational process. Destruction of simpler and more harmonious lifestyles with nature, human relations increasingly distant, values embrittlement, as respect, goodness and love, are some consequences of that behavioral homogenization. In the other hand, appears an archipelago of cultural and cognitive resistance against this devastating wave. Edgar Morin and Ceiça Almeida refer to this archipelago as a South Thought , what is not just a geographic question. Report, therefore, to some places, peoples, island that keep ancient costumes and knowledge, orally transmitted, for instance, from elders to younger, or vice versa, in an almost constant flow. Particular ways of experiencing the world around themselves, the men, animals, plants, rocks, or even not alive beings, masters or enchanted, spiritual guides. Next to a logic of sensitive, as Claude Levi-Strauss proposes, this reading, which is a more attentive, observer and wiser posture of surroundings, is based on touching, smelling, eating, seeing, and, I would add, felling. In light of this, I try to expatiate about certain experiences that I had the pleasure of living in some of these islands of resistance. This study originated from my concerns as critical care nurse, regarding the lived experience of the family member of the patient that is hospitalized in the intensive care unit - ICU. The purpose of the study was to comprehend the experience of the family members while having a loved one interned in an ICU, and to identify the common elements of the phenomenon, based on the descriptions of their experiences. Considering that the object of study involves subjective and social questions, the study was conducted using some fundamental ideas of descriptive phenomenology as a referential and the situated phenomenon as suggested by Martins and Bicudo (1989). Ten (10) family members of patients that were interned in the ICU of private hospital in Natal, RN were interviewed using the following leading question: What is it like to have a member of your family interned in the ICU? Five thematic structural categories emerged from the comprehensive analysis of the interviews: Fear of the family member s death; Lack of humanization; Social isolation; Confidence in the ICU; and Overload to the personal life. The description of the phenomenon enabled a new look at how the care team relates to the family members of the patients interned in the ICU, providing some guidance on how to construct a humanized care that involves the family and that is based on affective human relations. This involves a rethinking of the care provided by team to the family and stimulates the reformulation of personal and social attitudes, and of hospital organizational norms

The contemporary conjuncture based on the capitalistic knowledge converges to the corporal consciousness that makes us see, feel, taste and hear, be in/to pieces. Disembodied reason legitimate and legislate ways of being and living socially and its development is the dehumanization of human relations causing pain and suffering. The objective of this work is to discuss the body as pedagogical matrix through imagistic/artistic elements: music, painting and literature. Metaphors lead to self knowledge of human subjectivity and approach us to the kaleidoscope of sensitive knowledge and enables learning to learn with the infinite combinations of images, knowledge, feelings and worldviews. The song Memória da Pele comes in the voice of Maria Betânia speak of the memories that are not mine, but are tattooed in me in the memory of skin, singing the memories of a love lived by who tries to forget rationally, but the body insists on remembering. It is password to think about what we are. The short story by Clarice Lispector, entitled Miss Algarve, narrates the life story of an unmarried and virgin woman, and her encounter with an alien called Ixtlan. Until then, she who lived as if every day were a Monday, found herself seduced by the pleasure of having a body in contact with another body, which also allowed her to give visibility to the bodies of others. She had repudiation by the immorality that her body and the other s perspired. The discovery of the body brings important lessons for nursing, involving our body and the others'. The painting the flying bed or Henry Ford Hospital, by Frida Kahlo, is our final metaphor. The traumatic experience of abortion is shown in this painting trough the picture of the artist naked in a hospital bed. This painting invites us to reflect on our work process. We need to think in multiple dimensions of the being and accept the invitation of art, so that the lightness confronts us with the weight imposed by the hegemonic ideology. I believe it is not a single view, but the many views that should justify the knowledge and practices of nursing; what matters is that they are woven into the dialogue, democracy, provided that protagonism of those individuals involved in this process, in the wandering and uncertainty, in the rewiring, solidarity, plurality. To this end, the body must be the great pedagogue that is able to be viewed not as a tapestry seen by the right view, as the logical knowledge sees, but seen by the opposite side in its singular, irregular, discontinuous weavings
