História das mulheres, história de vida de professoras: elementos para pensar a docência

Por meio da história de vida de duas professoras ribeirinhas, reflete-se sobre a docência que acontece no contexto do arquipélago de Guajará, em Belém do Pará, Brasil. Traços comuns entre as histórias, como violência sexual na infância, pobreza e escolarização são destacados para demonstrar que a docência não pode ser pensada fora do contexto mais amplo de constituição da mulher. Argumenta-se que a condição da mulher na região historicamente conformou possibilidades singulares que explicam como e porque meninas que foram por muito tempo alijadas do mundo da escola se transformam em professoras. Demonstra-se como ser professora se articula aos processos societais do espaço ribeirinho, assegurando todo um processo de inter-relação.

Projeto colaborativo em ambientes digitais de atividades de aprendizagem e avaliação para aquisição de competências em informação e documentação

The search for international impact and the need to create formal or informal networks of academic cooperation are some of the most common features of the current training offered by many universities. Aware of this difficulty and the desirability of creating synergies to enrich teaching and academic collaboration networks between universities, an experience is presented, in the context of the teaching of Information and Documentation, of inter-university collaboration for the joint design of learning activities and skills assessment, developed by teachers in the public universities of Zaragoza and Salamanca (Spain) and the São Paulo Universidade Estadual Paulista Júlio de Mesquita Filho (São Paulo, Brazil). The experience is developed using models that facilitate the structuring of learning activities aimed at the acquisition of common skills. Each activity that is proposed and developed is recorded in a spreadsheet which collects the information arranged in various fields such as: description, skills, objectives, expected learning outcomes, tools, required resources and materials, evaluation criteria, amongst others, so that the student can see what he is asked to do, how to do it and how useful it will be. This way of designing skills-based learning activities is possible, in geographically diverse academic settings through the use of Information Technology and Communication, enabling both remote cooperation between teachers and also materials offered on the platforms of each of the universities.

The Fokker-Planck equation for a bistable potential

The Fokker-Planck equation is studied through its relation to a Schrodinger-type equation. The advantage of this combination is that we can construct the probability distribution of the Fokker-Planck equation by using well-known solutions of the Schrodinger equation. By making use of such a combination, we present the solution of the Fokker-Planck equation for a bistable potential related to a double oscillator. Thus, we can observe the temporal evolution of the system describing its dynamic properties such as the time tau to overcome the barrier. By calculating the rates k = 1/tau as a function of the inverse scaled temperature 1/D, where D is the diffusion coefficient, we compare the aspect of the curve k x 1/D, with the ones obtained from other studies related to four different kinds of activated process. We notice that there are similarities in some ranges of the scaled temperatures, where the different processes follow the Arrhenius behavior. We propose that the type of bistable potential used in this study may be used, qualitatively, as a simple model, whose rates share common features with the rates of some single rate-limited thermally activated processes. Reabilitação oral de paciente com síndrome da combinação: relato de caso

The Combination Syndrome represents an important pathologic condition of the masticatory system that requires a complex rehabilitation treatment. The presence of flaccid mucosa is one of the most common features due to bone resorption of the pre-maxilla caused by anterior hyperfunction of the mandibular teeth on the maxillary complete denture, where the impact of oclusal loading in this region results in movement of the maxillary prosthesis into the ridge, resulting in increased resorption of the residual ridge, internal misfit and loss of the retention of the maxillary complete denture. The presence of flaccid mucosa, in such cases, leads to problems of support and stability of the maxillary complete denture, which can be treated by surgical reduction of the thickness of the tissue or using specific techniques of fabrication of prostheses. This article describes the oral rehabilitation of a patient with the Combination Syndrome where the surgical reduction of flaccid mucosa was not performed, using a modified technique of functional impression in two steps, with the objective of generating forces and less distortion in flaccid mucosa during functional impression.

Análise dos benefícios do edi para a competitividade logística das organizações

The concept of EDI -Electronic Data Interchange is normally used to determine integration technologies between companies. Logistically, this implies in the integrationbetween enterprises in supply chain, involving the electronic transmission of data and thus reducing human intervention in the process, still favoring organizational performance. This study investigated the main benefits of EDI for organizational competitiveness and its possible impacton improving logistics performance of four companies comprising large national networks. Through multiple case studieswere able to identify common features that the use of EDI can favorer these companies. The results were significant and assume that the use of this tool can add value to logistics, primarily through streamlining processes, inventory optimization, cost reduction and performance improvement potential. Thus, the use of Electronic Data Interchange as a strategic tool for logistics proved, through this study, an efficient alternative for business improvement and good practice, able to leverage competitive advantages not only for individual companies, but also for the entire supply chain.
