Decoherence properties of two Josephson charge qubits coupled via the sigma(x)sigma(x) type are investigated. Considering the special structure of this new design, the dissipative effects arising from the circuit impedance providing the fluxes for the qubits' superconducting quantum interference device loops coupled to the sigma(x) qubit variables are considered. The results show that the overall decoherence effects are significantly strong in this qubit design. It is found that the dissipative effects are stronger in the case of coupling to two uncorrelated baths than are found in the case of one common bath.

This paper presents a direct digital frequency synthesizer (DDFS) with a 16-bit accumulator, a fourth-order phase domain single-stage Delta Sigma interpolator, and a 300-MS/s 12-bit current-steering DAC based on the Q(2) Random Walk switching scheme. The Delta Sigma interpolator is used to reduce the phase truncation error and the ROM size. The implemented fourth-order single-stage Delta Sigma noise shaper reduces the effective phase bits by four and reduces the ROM size by 16 times. The DDFS prototype is fabricated in a 0.35-mu m CMOS technology with active area of 1.11 mm(2) including a 12-bit DAC. The measured DDFS spurious-free dynamic range (SFDR) is greater than 78 dB using a reduced ROM with 8-bit phase, 12-bit amplitude resolution and a size of 0.09 mm(2). The total power consumption of the DDFS is 200)mW with a 3.3-V power supply.

This paper presents a direct digital frequency synthesizer (DDFS) with a 16-bit accumulator, a 4th-order single-stage pipelined delta-sigma interpolator and a 300MS/s 12-bit current-steering DAC based on Q(2) Random Walk switching scheme. The delta-sigma interpolator is used to reduce the phase truncation error and the ROM size. The measured spurious-free dynamic range (SFDR) is greater than 80 dB for 8-bit phase value and 12-bit sine-amplitude output. The DDFS prototype is fabricated in a 0.35um CMOS technology with core area of 1.11mm(2).

This paper presents a wideband Delta Sigma-based fractional-N synthesizer with three integrated quadrature VCOs for multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) wireless communication applications. It continuously covers a wide range frequency from 0.72GHz to 6.2GHz that is suitable for multiple communication standards. The synthesizer is designed in 0.13-um RE CMOS process. The dual clock full differential multi-modulus divide (MMD) with low power consumption can operate over 9GHz under the worst condition. In the whole range frequency from 0.72GHz to 6.2GHz, the maximal tuning range of the QVCOs reaches 33.09% and their phase noise is -119d8/Hz similar to 124d8/Hz @1MHz. Its current is less than 12mA at a 1.2V voltage supply when it operates at the highest frequency of 6.2GHz.

perimentally at evaluated pressures and under normal- and micro-gravity conditions utilizing the 3.5 s drop tower of the National Microgravity Laboratory of China. The results showed that under micro-gravity conditions the natural convection is minimized and the flames become more planar and symmetric compared to normal gravity. In both normal- and micro-gravity experiments and for a given strain rate and fuel concentration, the flame luminosity was found to enhance as the pressure increases. On the other hand, at a given pressure, the flame luminosity was determined to weaken as the strain rate decreases. At a given strain rate, the fuel concentration at extinction was found to vary non-monotonically with pressure, namely it first increases and subsequently decreases with pressure. The limit fuel concentration peaks around 3 and 4 atm under normal- and micro-gravity, respectively. The extinction limits measured at micro-gravity were in good agreement with predictions obtained through detailed numerical simulations but they are notably lower compared to the data obtained under normal gravity. The simulations confirmed the non-monotonic variation of flammability limits with pressure, in agreement with previous studies. Sensitivity analysis showed that for pressures between one and 5 atm, the near-limit flame response is dominated by the competition between the main branching, H + O2 ? OH + O, and the pressure sensitive termination, H+O2+M? HO2 + M, reaction. However, for pressures greater than 5 atm it was determined that the HO2 kinetics result in further chain branching in a way that is analogous to the third explosion limit of H2/O2 mixtures. 2010 The Combustion Institute. We study the topological defects in the nonlinear O(3) sigma model in terms of the decomposition of U(1) gauge potential. Time-dependent baby skyrmions are discussed in the (2 + 1)-dimensional spacetime with the CP1 field. Furthermore, we show that there are three kinds of topological defects-vortex lines, point defects and knot exist in the (3 + 1)-dimensional model, and their topological charges, locations and motions are determined by the phi-mapping topological current theory.

We explore production mechanism and final state interaction in the pp -> nK(+)Sigma(+) channel based on the inconsistent experimental data published respectively by COSY-11 and COSY-ANKE. The scattering parameter a > 0 for n Sigma(+) interaction is favoured by large near-threshold cross section within a nonrelativistic parametrization investigation, and a strong n Sigma(+) interaction comparable to pp interaction is also indicated. Based on this analysis we calculate the contribution from resonance Delta*(1920) through pi(+) exchange within resonance model, and the numerical result suggests a rather small near-threshold total cross section, which is consistent with the COSY-ANKE data. With an additional sub-threshold resonance Delta*(1620), the model gives a much better description to the rather large near-threshold total cross section published by COSY-11

We give a general SU(2)(L) x SU(2)(R) x U(1)(EM) sigma model with external sources, dynamical breaking and spontaneous vacuum symmetry breaking, and present the general formulation of the model. It is found that sigma and pi(0) without electric charges have electromagnetic interaction effects coming front the internal structures. A general Lorentz transformation relative to external sources J(gauge) - (J(A mu) J(A mu)(kappa)) derived, using the general Lorentz transformation and the four-dimensional current of nuclear matter of the ground si ate with J(gauge) = 0, we give the four-dimensional general relations between the different currents of nuclear matter systems with J(gauge) not equal 0 and those with J(gauge) = 0. The relation of the density's coupling with external magnetic field is derived, which conforms well to dense nuclear matter in a strong magnetic field. We show different condensed effects in strong interaction about fermions and antifermions, and give the concrete scalar and pseudoscalar condensed expressions of sigma(0) and pi(0) bosons. About different dynamical breaking and spontaneous vacuum symmetry breaking, the concrete expressions of different mass spectra are obtained in field theory. This paper acquires the running spontaneous vacuum breaking value sigma'(0), and obtains the spontaneous vacuum breaking in tenus of the running sigma'(0), which make nucleon, sigma, and pi particles gain effective masses. We achieve both the effect of external sources and nonvanishing value of the condensed scalar and pseudoscalar paticles. It is deduced that the masses of nucleons, sigma and pi generally depend on different external sources.

We give a generalized Lagrangian density of 1 + 1 Dimensional O( 3) nonlinear sigma model with subsidiary constraints, different Lagrange multiplier fields and topological term, find a lost intrinsic constraint condition, convert the subsidiary constraints into inner constraints in the nonlinear sigma model, give the example of not introducing the lost constraint. N = 0, by comparing the example with the case of introducing the lost constraint, we obtain that when not introducing the lost constraint, one has to obtain a lot of various non-intrinsic constraints. We further deduce the gauge generator, give general BRST transformation of the model under the general conditions. It is discovered that there exists a gauge parameter beta originating from the freedom degree of BRST transformation in a general O( 3) nonlinear sigma model, and we gain the general commutation relations of ghost field.

The synthesis and crystal structure of the first mixed-metal organometallic polymer network containing phenylthiolato ligands, [K2Fe(SPh)(4)](n), are investigated. The simple phenyl-thiolate acts as a sigma- and pi-donor ligand to give a 3-D potassium iron coordination polymer with both metal-carbon and metal-sulfur coordination interactions.
