Um estudo do gênero ata de audiência na esfera jurídico-trabalhista

The activities in labor judicial sphere are permeated by the use of diverse text genres, which are indispensable instruments to the accomplishment of actions that involve the jurisdictional realm. Among the genres that circulate in this domain, we selected the genre minutes of hearing as the object of study of this research, because it is a document supporting the actions, procedures and deliberations agreed, in hearings, by members involved in work-related litigation. In this study we aim to describe the elements that constitute the referred genre in what concerns its pragmatic, organizational and linguistic dimensions. Therefore, we use the postulations of Sociodiscursive Interactionism as theoretical framework, through the writings of Bronckart (2006; 2007; 2012), supported by Marcuschi studies (2008; 2010; 2011), Koch and Favero (1987), Elias Koch (2011; 2012) and Zanotto (2012). In methodological terms, it is characterized as a qualitative approach research (BOGDAN; BIKLEN, 1994; CHIZZOTTI, 2000; MOREIRA; CALEFFE, 2006) with aspects of an ethnographic work (ANDRÉ, 1995; CANÇADO, 1994). The discussion proposed inserts into the field of Applied Linguistics for it focalizes ―social issues and creates intelligibility about the social practices in which language plays the main role‖ (MOITA LOPES, 2006, p.14). The analyses indicate – regarding the pragmatic dimension – that the genre in focus constitutes artefact that enables the register of actions, deliberations, testimonials, procedures and occurrences established during the hearings and has as its interlocutors judges, litigants and their legal representatives. Concerning the organizational dimension, despite the genre in scope present a proposal of standardized writing, their examples contemplate variations and flexibility especially with regard to the development and outcome of the text. As for linguistic aspects, it is noticeable the presence of lexical choices inherent in the language used by labor law discourse community. Lastly, stand out the relevance of the research lies in the fact that it approaches, from the perspective of the Applied Linguistics, the forensic writing and, consequently, offers contributions to the understanding of such genre.

Comprehensive primary health care: a pathway to social inclusion and improved health

Originating from the World Health Organization of alma Ata in 1978, the philosophy of Comprehensive Primary Health Care (CPHC) includes the interconnecting principles of equity, access, empowerment, community self-determination and intersectoral collaboration in order to achieve better health outcomes for all people. It encompasses addressing the social, economic, cultural and political determinants of health. CPHC when implemented correctly should lead to social inclusion. However, implementing CPHC is complex due to misunderstandings about what it encompasses and about how to achieve the intended goals. This workshop aims to explore a range of issues that are tackled through a diverse range of primary health care services that target: community health, youth mental health, HIV/AIDS, homelessness, and marginalised disadvantaged groups.

Visual openness in urban environments: Measuring visual openness and visibility to natural landscapes in a changing urban landscape in Gold Coast, Australia

The visual characteristics of urban environments have been changing dramatically with the growth of cities around the world. Protection and enhancement of landscape character in urban environments have been one of the challenges for policy makers in addressing sustainable urban growth. Visual openness and enclosure in urban environments are important attributes in perception of visual space which affect the human interaction with physical space and which can be often modified by new developments. Measuring visual openness in urban areas results in more accurate, reliable, and systematic approach to manage and control visual qualities in growing cities. Recent advances in techniques in geographic information systems (GIS) and survey systems make it feasible to measure and quantify this attribute with a high degree of realism and precision. Previous studies in this field do not take full advantage of these improvements. This paper proposes a method to measure the visual openness and enclosure in a changing urban landscape in Australia, on the Gold Coast, by using the improved functionality in GIS. Using this method, visual openness is calculated and described for all publicly accessible areas in the selected study area. A final map is produced which shows the areas with highest visual openness and visibility to natural landscape resources. The output of this research can be used by planners and decision-makers in managing and controlling views in complex urban landscapes. Also, depending on the availability of GIS data, this method can be applied to any region including non-urban landscapes to help planners and policy-makers manage views and visual qualities.

New evidences on Tau-DNA interactions and relevance to neurodegeneration

Tau is mainly distributed in cytoplasm and also found to be localized in the nucleus. There is limited data on DNA binding potential of Tau.We provide novel evidence on nicking of DNA by Tau. Tau nicks the supercoiled DNA leading to open circular and linear forms. The metal ion magnesium (a co-factor for endonuclease) enhanced the Tau DNA nicking ability, while an endonuclease specific inhibitor,aurinetricarboxylic acid (ATA) inhibited the Tau DNA nicking ability Further, we also evidenced that Tau induces B-C-A mixed conformational transition in DNA and also changes DNA stability. Tau-scDNA complex is more sensitive to DNAse I digestion indicating stability changes in DNA caused by Tau. These findings indicate that Tau alters DNA helicity and integrity and also nicks the DNA. The relevance of these novel intriguing findings regarding the role Tau in neuronal dysfunction is discussed. (C) 2010 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.

Sistema de registro de preços : teoria e prática

Diferentemente dos gastos realizados pela iniciativa privada, o recurso público não pode ser despendido livremente. As despesas devem se pautar pela necessária vinculação ao interesse público. No que diz repeito às compras governamentais, a Administração deverá se submeter a um procedimento licitatório que assegure igualdade de condições a todos os concorrentes, a fim de selecionar a proposta mais vantajosa para o contrato de seu interesse. Para aquisições frequentes e com imprevisibilidade de consumo, sempre que possível, os gestores deverão se utilizar do sistema de registro de preços, conjunto de procedimentos - decorrentes de uma concorrência ou de um pregão - destinados ao registro formal de preços relativos à prestação de serviços e à aquisição de bens. Por meio dessa sistemática, não há comprometimento orçamentário-financeiro quando da homologação do certame, somente quando da efetiva demanda pelo objeto licitado. Com a sua utilização, prescinde-se da manutenção de grandes estruturas de estocagem. Reduz-se o número de licitações requeridas, tendo em vista a ata registrada ter validade por até um ano. O trabalho propõe detalhar os principais pontos da sistemática de registro de preços e a apresentar como é utilizada na prática, especialmente na Câmara dos Deputados e no Exército Brasileiro. Das boas experiências colhidas buscam-se alternativas de aprimoramento da gestão de compras desta Casa por meio do uso do Sistema de Registro de Preços.

Effects of rapid decompression and exposure to bright light on visual function in black rockfish (Sebastes melanops) and Pacific halibut (Hippoglossus stenolepis)

Demersal fishes hauled up from depth experience rapid decompression. In physoclists, this can cause overexpansion of the swim bladder and resultant injuries to multiple organs (barotrauma), including severe exophthalmia (“pop-eye”). Before release, fishes can also be subjected to asphyxia and exposure to direct sunlight. Little is known, however, about possible sensory deficits resulting from the events accompanying capture. To address this issue, electroretinography was used to measure the changes in retinal light sensitivity, flicker fusion frequency, and spectral sensitivity in black rockfish (Sebastes melanops) subjected to rapid decompression (from 4 atmospheres absolute [ATA] to 1 ATA) and Pacific halibut (Hippoglossus stenolepis) exposed to 15 minutes of simulated sunlight. Rapid decompression had no measurable influence on retinal function in black rockfish. In contrast, exposure to bright light significantly reduced retinal light sensitivity of Pacific halibut, predominately by affecting the photopigment which absorbs the green wavelengths of light (≈520–580 nm) most strongly. This detriment is likely to have severe consequences for postrelease foraging success in green-wavelength-dominated coastal waters. The visual system of Pacific halibut has characteristics typical of species adapted to low light environments, and these characteristics may underlie their vulnerability to injury from exposure to bright light.
