Begreppens roll vid inlärning av algebra : En litteraturstudie om den roll begrepp och begreppsförmåga spelar vid inlärning av algebra för elever i årskurs 4-6

Svenska elever har presterat dåligt i internationella undersökningar en längre tid när det gäller algebraområdet i matematik. Elevernas begreppsförståelse har pekats ut som en faktor som spelar in i de dåliga resultaten för svenska elever del. Syftet med denna studie har därför varit att ta reda på den roll som begrepp och begreppsförmåga spelar vid inlärning av algebra samt vilken begreppsförståelse elever i årskurs 4-6 har. Genom en systematisk litteraturstudie har frågeställningarna besvarats. Resultaten visar att brister i begreppsförståelse i algebra också leder till brister i kunskap i algebra. Undervisning med fokus på begrepp leder till bättre förståelse för begrepp samtidigt som det även leder till procedurell kunskap. Elever i årskurs 4-6 kan hantera variabler och använda dem i matematiska uttryck. Fördelar med en tidig introduktion av variabelbegreppet är att elever bygger en bättre förståelse för begreppet.

Samhällskunskap och historia i svensk gymnasieskola: ämnenas roll och relation i diskurs och ämnesplaner

The adoption of new syllabuses in history and social science in the new Swedish curriculum raises questions on the relationship between the two subjects. Social Science and History as school subjects have previously been described as both competing and complementary. The competing aspect has mainly been descibed in terms of citizenship education and the complementary aspect has been described in terms of content, abilities, and temporality. This article discusses how history and social science relate to these four topics in didactic discourse and in the new syllabuses. In the didactic discource both subjects underline the importance of making subject matter useful in life outside school. However, the new syllabuses are very differently formulated in this sense. History is closely connected to citizenship education and describes content, abilities and temporality in such a context. Social Science on the other hand downtunes the traditional role as a subject important for citizenship. Instead, focus is aimed at disciplinary thinking and using knowledge to understand social science methods and theories. This development is seen as very problematic and challenging for a meaningful teaching of Social Science in upper secondary school. In response to this challenge, the author proposes interdisciplinary didactic development, especially in developing "dynamic concepts" within Social Science didactics.

Effect of Recombinant Bovine Somatotropin on Plasma Concentrations of Insulin-like Growth Factor I, Insulin and Membrane Integrity of Bull Spermatozoa

Contents This study aimed to evaluate the effect of the exogenous recombinant bovine somatotropin (rbST) on plasma concentrations of insulin-like growth factor I (IGF-I), insulin and semen quality of bulls. Twenty bulls (Aberdeen Angus and Brangus) were divided by breed into two groups. Placebo group was injected with NaCl 0.9% (s.c.) and treatment group with rbST (s.c., 500 mg) at days 0 and 14 of the experiment. Immediately after semen collection, blood samples were taken on days 0, 14, 28, 42 and 56 of the experiment. Semen was also collected on day 70 of the experiment. Evaluation of sperm motility was performed at pre-freezing and post-thawing stage, whereas assessment of sperm membrane integrity was performed after freezing and thawing. Analysis of data revealed that the effect of treatment and treatment-by-collection day on plasma concentrations of IGF-I and insulin was not significant. However, mean plasma concentrations of IGF-I and insulin were affected (p < 0.0001) by days of blood sampling. Effect of treatment and treatment-by-collection day on motility of spermatozoa was similar (p > 0.05) at pre-freezing and post-thawing stage. Intactness of plasmalemma and tail membrane of spermatozoa at post-thawing stage was higher (p < 0.05) in rbST-treated group than in control. In conclusion, rbST did not affect plasma concentrations of IGF-I and insulin, however, it did improve post-thaw sperm membrane integrity.

Bifurcations and chaos in single-roll natural convection with low Prandtl number

Convective flows of a small Prandtl number fluid contained in a two-dimensional cavity subject to a lateral thermal gradient are numerically studied by using different techniques. The aspect ratio (length to height) is kept at around 2. This value is found optimal to make the flow most unstable while keeping the basic single-roll structure. Two cases of thermal boundary conditions on the horizontal plates are considered: perfectly conducting and adiabatic. For increasing Rayleigh numbers we find a transition from steady flow to periodic oscillations through a supercritical Hopf bifurcation that maintains the centrosymmetry of the basic circulation. For a Rayleigh number of about ten times that of the Hopf bifurcation the system initiates a complex scenario of bifurcations. In the conductive case these include a quasiperiodic route to chaos. In the adiabatic one the dynamics is dominated by the interaction of two Neimark-Sacker bifurcations of the basic periodic solutions, leading to the stable coexistence of three incommensurate frequencies, and finally to chaos. In all cases, the complex time-dependent behavior does not break the basic, single-roll structure.

A survey of potential vectors of apricot chlorotic leaf roll

A comparative survey was done in leafhopper populations captured in apricot orchards in two areas of Valencia, one with considerable natural spread of apricot chlorotic leaf roll (ACLR), and the other where such natural spread is virtually nonexistent. An identification of the leafhopper species found in the first and in the second area suggest that Neoaliturus haematoceps and/or Neoaliturus fertestratus are the potential vectors of ACLR, at least under the conditions of Valencia province. Psammotettix striatus and Austroagallia sinuata are potential secondary vextors of ACLR.

Sångrepertoaren i den finlandssvenska skolans årskurs 1-6

Syftet med avhandlingen var att analysera och kartlägga sångrepertoaren i den finlandssvenska skolans årskurs 1-6 i början av 2000-talet. Läroplansreformen 1994 gav skolorna valmöjligheter i samband med utformandet av skolvisa läroplaner. Härmed undersöktes hur denna reform inverkat på repertoarvalet och sångtraditionen. Utgående från mitt syfte ställdes två övergripande forskningsfrågor. Vilka sånger tillhör enligt lärare repertoaren i den finlandssvenska skolan? Vilka faktorer bidrar till att gestalta repertoaren? Undersökningsansatsen var kvalitativ och avhandlingen fick en deskriptiv karaktär. Tre teman - det utvecklingspsykologiska, läroplansteoretiska och social-psykologiska vägledde teoridelen. Lärarna uppskattar valfriheten samtidigt som en klar majoritet ställer sig positivt till en bestämd repertoar. När repertoaren ses ur ett lärarperspektiv visar det sig att traditionella finlandssvenska sånger placerar sig i toppen. Psalmer, sånger från Sverige och nya finlandssvenska tillskott har likaså en naturlig plats i repertoaren. Därtill finns utrymme för en varierande internationell repertoar och populärmusik. Sångerna som väljs har olika funktioner. De stöder elevens kännedom om den egna kulturen och andra kulturers uttryckssätt, stärker identiteten, utvecklar elevens musikaliska förmåga och blir en del av allmänbildningen. Lärarens personliga kompetens, självmedvetenhet och speciellt samarbetsförmåga är viktiga faktorer inför valsituationer. Läroplanen och läromedel är grundläggande styrmedel. Utöver dessa tillkommermassmediernas inflytande och möjligheten till fortbildning. Sångrepertoaren är omfattande och lärarens roll betydelsefull. Det traditionella i repertoaren lever kvar men utrymme ges också åt nya tillskott och multikulturella inslag. Idealet är en balans mellan det traditionella och moderna. En delvis bestämd repertoar kunde underlätta valsituationen och skapa en mer enhetlig finlandssvensk grundskola. Här framställs en förkortad, beskrivande version av avhandlingen inom ramen för studieprogrammet i pop och jazz vid yrkeshögskolan Stadia.

El rock'n'roll, un dels estils musicals més influents del segle XX, es va gestar als EUA durant la dècada de 1940 a partir del blues, el rhythm'n'blues i el country. Joel vaig descobrir de forma conscient el 1979, quan tenia 14 anys. I el seu ritme em va captivar tant les neurones que continua sent el meu estil musical predilecte, amb el qual identifico bona part de les meves emocions.
