En este trabajo, tras establecer que la Estadística de Variaciones Residenciales es la fuente estadística más adecuada para estudiar las migraciones en España, se ofrece una interpretación del espectacular crecimiento que ha experimentado la tasa migratoria interior. Desde comienzos del nuevo siglo, el aumento de la movilidad se apoya en dos nuevos rasgos que redibujan el patrón migratorio español: la creciente participación de la población extranjera en la movilidad interior y la irrupción de las migraciones repetidas o remigraciones, tanto de retorno (return) como hacia delante (onward).

Something moves: a philosophical and ethical praise to the combat practicing as art and education

In this work we tried to produce a philosophic-ethic praise to the Martial Arts` combat practice, based in our years of Martial Arts training accompanied with studies of oriental and occidental Philosophy. Tracing a critical history of the changes happened to the Martial Arts we brought the concept of combat as a martial practice of life empowerment. Opposing this, we presented the notion of fight as a result of the capture that the war arts suffered because of the despotic empires. Besides, we demonstrated that the combat practice is simultaneously an artistic and educational activity, because it aims at the production of an immanence field witch is loyal to the event.

Moving On Moves Recidivism Rates Lower, Data Download, Iowa Department of Corrections, October 2009

The results of a recently conducted evaluation show that a gender-responsive program for women probationers holds promise in significantly reducing recidivism rates. The University of Cincinnati conducted the evaluation of the cognitive-behavioral program, Moving On, in which it compared recidivism outcomes for moderate to high-risk Iowa offenders completing the program with a similar group of offenders not having attended any cognitive program.

En dépit et à travers des difficultés et carences comme celles soulevées par les recherches de la Professeure Andrée Lajoie, le Canada est réputé un champion du monde en ce qui concerne l’égalité entre hommes et femmes. L’Europe pourra-t-elle suivre les exemples du Canada ? L’Union européenne n’a pas (ou pas encore) de constitution européenne, bien qu’une charte des droits fondamentaux ait été proclamée et qu’un traité établissant une constitution pour l’Europe ait été proposé, texte apportant des amendements aux traités constitutifs de l’Union. L’Union suivra-t-elle les expériences du Canada concernant la condition des femmes ? Pour voir plus clair, il faut considérer et évaluer le cadre de la réglementation en Europe, son influence sur les politiques variées des États membres, ainsi que les perspectives offertes par l’évolution sociale, tout en prenant en compte aussi les élargissements de l’Union européenne de 2004 et 2007 qui ont admis 12 nouveaux États membres.

Is there a demand for sustainable offices? An analysis of UK business occupier moves (2006–2008)

‘Sustainable’ or ‘green’ commercial buildings are frequently seen as a growth sector in the property investment market. This research examines the emergence of sustainable commercial buildings in both the UK and overseas. The empirical part of the paper is based on a telephone survey of 50 UK corporate (private sector) occupiers taking leased and owner–occupied office space, which was carried out during the period of April to November 2008. The survey focused on actual moves made within the previous two years, or moves that were imminent during 2006–2008. The research suggests that although there is an emerging and increasing demand for sustainable offices in the UK, other factors such as location and availability of stock continue to remain more important than sustainability in determining occupiers’ final choice of office. Occupiers who moved to a Building Research Establishment Environmental Assessment Method (BREEAM)‐rated building, and were in business sectors with strong environmental and corporate responsibility policies, placed more emphasis on sustainability than other groups in the final choice of office, but location and availability remained paramount.

The attractiveness of the work is affected when production of handcrafted log houses moves indoors

Viewed from a historical perspective, a shift has occurred within the forestry and wood sector towards indoor work. In Sweden, the production of handcrafted log houses has now also begun to move indoors. With a point of departure in development processes within the log house sector involving working indoors, education, work attractiveness, between 2001-2005, the aim of this study was to compare indoor work with outdoor work, based on log house builders' experience of working on handcrafted log houses. Methods used in the interactive development project involving apprentices, experienced log house builders and researchers, were participation with continuous documentation of experiences and opinions; questions; interviews; and measurement of the work environment. The Attractive Work Model has been used in order to analyse perceptions and values. The changes, 15 out of 22 areas, were perceived both negatively and positively. Therefore, it can not be said that working on traditional, handcrafted log houses becomes more attractive if it is moved indoors. The majority wanted to work both outdoors and indoors, while most of the others only wanted to work outdoors. The results indicate that there is scope for developing more attractive work indoors by utilising experiences from log house builders and closely related activities such as the forestry and wood sector. Changes made within one area of work attractiveness affect other areas. Further research is needed both with regard to comparisons between indoor and outdoor work and regarding the interaction between the areas that are identified in the Attractive Work Model.
