Líderes de todos os partidos criticam o projeto de Constituição do Relator Bernardo Cabral. Os pontos mais criticados são: a criação da figura da empresa brasileira de capital estrangeiro; a criação do voto distrital no sistema eleitoral. O Líder do PC do B, Deputado Haroldo Lima informa que o voto distrital prejudica os partidos pequenos. O Líder do PTB, Deputado Gastone Righi critica o artigo que trata da demissão de trabalhadores. O Presidente do PT, Deputado Luis Inácio Lula da Silva acredita que os líderes sindicais devem conversar e pressionar os constituintes para que eles façam a legislação social avançar. Outro ponto muito criticado é o que estabelece o papel das Forças Armadas e fixa os limites da anistia para os militares. O Líder do PFL, Deputado José Lourenço, declara que houve compromisso para que a questão da anistia se esgotasse com a Emenda nº 26, já debatida. O Senador Afonso Arinos (PFL-RJ), presidente da Comissão de Sistematização da Assembleia Nacional Constituinte (ANC), almoça com os ministros militares e explica o projeto de Constituição. O Senador declarou que os militares consideram o Presidente da República uma figura institucional representativa e peça indispensável na transição. No Plenário da Assembleia Nacional Constituinte, o assunto principal foi a crítica do Ministro do Exército Leônidas Pires Gonçalves ao projeto constitucional. O Deputado José Genoíno (PT-SP) considera que, no que diz respeito ao papel das Forças Armadas, o texto do projeto apenas reproduz o que é comum nas constituições de vários países do mundo, ou seja, submete os poderes militares aos poderes constitucionais. O Líder do Governo, Deputado Carlos Sant'Anna, declara que o ministro falou também como cidadão brasileiro, em reunião particular de trabalho. O Grupo do Consenso, liderado pelo Deputado Euclides Scalco (PMDB-PR), se reúne para examinar o projeto e deseja entrar em contato com o Grupo dos 32 (Trinta e Dois), do Senador José Richa, para ver o que pode ser alterado de comum acordo. O Deputado Adylson Motta (PDS-RS) acredita que o trabalho pode ser melhorado mas que ele não atingirá o ideal esperado do trabalho constituinte. O Líder do PDT, Deputado Bocayuva Cunha declara que cada grupo não pode fazer uma Constituição segundo seus próprios pontos de vista, por não representar a totalidade da Assembleia Nacional Constituinte. O Líder do PCB, Deputado Roberto Freire afirma que a Assembleia Nacional Constituinte é mais avançada e conseguirá conter os retrocessos.

Selective plankton feeding by the coregonid ”bondella” (Coregonus sp.) of Lake Maggiore [Translation from: Translation from: Memorie dell'Istituto Italiano di Idrobiologia Dott.Marco de Marchi 31 181-203, 1974]

In recent times, some specialists have begun to study the subject of food selection of fish in an organized way, thus highlighting its importance. In the present work, the author intends to evaluate the impact of predation on the eupelagic zooplanktonic biocenosis of Lake Maggiore, producing, in this way, as far as possible, a basis for a better understanding of the population dynamics of the species of zooplankton directly involved. Another aspect which has been studied is that related to the mechanism of selective capture set in action by the predator. To this end the study tries to bear in mind that the subject should be interpreted as a function of numerous factors acting contemporaneously, that is as the interaction of characters peculiar to the predator and to the prey. The species studied, locally called ”bondella”, belongs to the family Salmonidae, subfamily Coregoninae and was introduced into Lake Maggiore in 1950.

MicroRNA 203 Expression in Keratinocytes Is Dependent on Regulation of p53 Levels by E6.

A screen of microRNA (miRNA) expression following differentiation in human foreskin keratinocytes (HFKs) identified changes in several miRNAs, including miRNA 203 (miR-203), which has previously been shown to play an important role in epithelial cell biology by regulating p63 levels. We investigated how expression of human papillomavirus type 16 (HPV16) oncoproteins E6 and E7 affected miR-203 expression during proliferation and differentiation of HFKs. We demonstrated that miR-203 expression is reduced in HFKs where p53 function is compromised, either by the viral oncoprotein E6 or by knockout of p53 using short hairpin RNAs (p53i). We show that the induction of miR-203 observed during calcium-induced differentiation of HFKs is significantly reduced in HFKs expressing E6 and in p53i HFKs. Induction of miR-203 in response to DNA damage is also reduced in the absence of p53. We report that proliferation of HFKs is dependent on the level of miR-203 expression and that overexpression of miR-203 can reduce overproliferation in E6/E7-expressing and p53i HFKs. In summary, these results indicate that expression of miR-203 is dependent on p53, which may explain how expression of HPV16 E6 can disrupt the balance between proliferation and differentiation, as well as the response to DNA damage, in keratinocytes.

City of Hamilton land abstracts (lots 93-203), 1865

An abstract of title for multiple lots in Peter H. Hamilton’s survey, south of Hunter Street, in the City of Hamilton. The lots involved range from lots 93-203 (non-inclusive). The document is dated November 10, 1865. The entries are dated from 1798 to 1865 and include the grantor, grantee, lands and instrument. The name Geo. S. Papps, Esq. appears centred at the top of the page. The document is signed at the bottom by John H. Greer, Registrar. A note on the reverse side of the document reads “Re Angus Abstract”.

Hyperfine structure and isotopic shift of the n^2 P_J levels (n = 7-10) of ^203,205 TI measured by Doppler-free two-photon spectroscopy

Using Doppler-free two-photon absorption spectroscopy, we have measured hyperfine splitting constants as well as isotopic level shifts of the 6s^2 np ^2 P_l/2,3/2 states in (n=7-10) in ^203 TI and ^205 TI. Calculations for hyperfine constants and electron density at the nucleus have been performed by the Dirac-Fock method. The experimental results are compared with these calculations as well as with the predictions of the semiempirical theory.
