The author Lucía Etxebarría is in the fourth generation of "female voice" of Spanish literature of the post- war, as has pointed Alchazidu (2001), has as her main theme the women’s representation and reflection about their role in society. In the work of Lucía has, according to Fernández (2001), a feminist commitment that appears through the authorial voice, in the first-person narration and in the dialogues between characters. Besides this commitment to feminism, we can perceive common purposes with Queer Theory, thus, this paper aims to demonstrate commonalities between the work of LucíaEtxebarría and Queer Theory. For this we analyze two novels: Amor, prozac, curiosidad y dudas e Beatriz y los cuerposcelestes, and the storybook: Nosotrasque no somoscomolasdemás. We conclude the main objective of the Lucia’s work and Queer Theory are misplaced, outsiders, abnormal subject that do not adapt themselves to existing identities in society and look for identities in the margins. Furthermore, the author criticizes the standards of female and male, emphasizes sexuality as historical, cultural and social construction andalsogives your characters androgynous appearances to destabilize the body as "truth" of being.

The purpose of this study is to analyze the process of Brazilian women’s search for equality, concerning cultural and social areas over five centuries. Oppression, submission and silence used to be common words for women during this period in the history. The extreme patriarchal system and the sexism in different areas of society prevented the female rights from expressing their opinions. This study process involved the research on significant articles, books and magazines related to gender equalities. The present achievements of women in the country are due to the work of feminist movements supported in Cultural Studies and Gender Theories that led women to represent an equal role in the society. As a result, women in the twentieth century got rid of the sexist oppression and besides producing remarkable writings, they improved their identities revealing themselves as skilful people able to contribute to the literary canon as well as diligent professional in education, politics and different areas of society in the postwar period.

This research aims to evaluate the changes occurred in the Angolan society, showed on the novel Generation of Utopia, written by Pepetela. This text fictionalizes a long historic period of Angola, since the last years of colonialism until some time after the country's independence and, in this sense, it shows the social changes on this historical / political moment. For this analysis, we use some important concepts used by cultural studies, especially the "Carnivalization", coined by Bakhtin. This process is permeated by inversions and contagions, the noble to the vulgar, high and low, popular and erudite, leaded by the dialog, which produces hybrid forms (also called grotesque). The compreension of most contemporary social transformations is made from "Transformation Metaphors" and, in this sense, one of the most useful is the “Carnivalization” that in the case of the Angolan society, represented by Pepetela, is better understood / evaluated from this bakhtinian concept.
