Portfolio analysis exists, perhaps, as long, as people think about acceptance of rational decisions connected with use of the limited resources. However the occurrence moment of portfolio analysis can be dated precisely enough is having connected it with a publication of pioneer work of Harry Markovittz (Markovitz H. Portfolio Selection) in 1952. The model offered in this work, simple enough in essence, has allowed catching the basic features of the financial market, from the point of view of the investor, and has supplied the last with the tool for development of rational investment decisions. The central problem in Markovitz theory is the portfolio choice that is a set of operations. Thus in estimation, both separate operations and their portfolios two major factors are considered: profitableness and risk of operations and their portfolios. The risk thus receives a quantitative estimation. The account of mutual correlation dependences between profitablenesses of operations appears the essential moment in the theory. This account allows making effective diversification of portfolio, leading to essential decrease in risk of a portfolio in comparison with risk of the operations included in it. At last, the quantitative characteristic of the basic investment characteristics allows defining and solving a problem of a choice of an optimum portfolio in the form of a problem of quadratic optimization.

One of the problems in AI tasks solving by neurocomputing methods is a considerable training time. This problem especially appears when it is needed to reach high quality in forecast reliability or pattern recognition. Some formalised ways for increasing of networks’ training speed without loosing of precision are proposed here. The offered approaches are based on the Sufficiency Principle, which is formal representation of the aim of a concrete task and conditions (limitations) of their solving [1]. This is development of the concept that includes the formal aims’ description to the context of such AI tasks as classification, pattern recognition, estimation etc.

Multitype branching processes (MTBP) model branching structures, where the nodes of the resulting tree are particles of different types. Usually such a process is not observable in the sense of the whole tree, but only as the “generation” at a given moment in time, which consists of the number of particles of every type. This requires an EM-type algorithm to obtain a maximum likelihood (ML) estimate of the parameters of the branching process. Using a version of the inside-outside algorithm for stochastic context-free grammars (SCFG), such an estimate could be obtained for the offspring distribution of the process.

In recent years, rough set approach computing issues concerning reducts of decision tables have attracted the attention of many researchers. In this paper, we present the time complexity of an algorithm computing reducts of decision tables by relational database approach. Let DS = (U, C ∪ {d}) be a consistent decision table, we say that A ⊆ C is a relative reduct of DS if A contains a reduct of DS. Let s = be a relation schema on the attribute set C ∪ {d}, we say that A ⊆ C is a relative minimal set of the attribute d if A contains a minimal set of d. Let Qd be the family of all relative reducts of DS, and Pd be the family of all relative minimal sets of the attribute d on s. We prove that the problem whether Qd ⊆ Pd is co-NP-complete. However, the problem whether Pd ⊆ Qd is in P .
