There are certain differences in how women and how men speak, and there are even more stereotypes. Thefocus of analysis is on how Flipa, a female character played by a man in the programme El hormiguero, is perceived by men and women, comparing a Spanish-speaking and a Swiss audience. The study consists of a quantitative and a qualitative analysis of a survey about Flipa’sperception. Formen,Flipa’s performance is more convincing than for women. Furthermore, the Swiss participants not only judge Flipa on the axis women-men, but here stereotypes about Spanish people also come into play.

This study investigated whether career adaptability, personality, attitude towards career counselling and some demographic variables predict the help seeking behaviour in career counselling among 330 Swiss adolescents in eighth grade. The results indicated that boys were less likely to seek help and that career related variables and attitude but not personality significantly predicted help-seeking. Specifically, help seeking related positively to undecidedness and positive perception of career counselling. Implications for school and career counsellors and suggestions for future research are presented.

The study investigated the predictive utility of interest profile differentiation, coherence, elevation, congruence, and vocational identity commitment and career maturity (career planning and exploration) on the 10-month interest stability of 292 Swiss eighth-grade students: profile, rank, and level stabilities were assessed. Controlling for socio-demographic and vocational interest type variables, measures of differentiated and coherent vocational interests were significant predictors of profile stability. Interest elevation predicted more rank and level stability. The career development variables explained only a non-significant additional amount of variance in the different stability measures.
