This article aims to investigate the construction of reflective abstraction and relate it to the construction of social knowledge. So, two methodological tools were applied to 60 students aged between ten and 16 years: a) evidence of the construction of surfaces and perimeters b) clinical interview about the origins of Earth and life. The main results show that participants were presented at more elementary levels of constuction of reflective abstraction and contruction of social knowledge despite the advanced age and schooling. Statistical analysis revealed a highly significant relationship between the constuction of abstraction and social knowledge.

Virtual platforms are of paramount importance for design space exploration and their usage in early software development and verification is crucial. In particular, enabling accurate and fast simulation is specially useful, but such features are usually conflicting and tradeoffs have to be made. In this paper we describe how we integrated TLM communication mechanisms into a state-of-the-art, cycle-accurate, MPSoC simulation platform. More specifically, we show how we adapted ArchC fast functional instruction set simulators to the MPARM platform in order to achieve both fast simulation speed and accuracy. Our implementation led to a much faster hybrid platform, reaching speedups of up to 2.9 and 2.1x on average with negligible impact on power estimation accuracy (average 3.26% and 2.25% of standard deviation). © 2011 IEEE.
Improvement and evaluation of the MS2SV for mixed systems design described in abstraction high level

This paper presents an important improvement of the MS2SV tool. The MS2SV performs the translation of mixed systems developed in MATLAB / Simulink for a structural or behavioral description in VHDL-AMS. Previously, the MS2SV translated only models of the LIB MS2SV library. This improvement allows designer to create your own library to translation. As case study was used a rudder controller employed in an unmanned aerial vehicle. For comparison with the original model the VHDL-AMS code obtained by the translation was simulated in SystemVision environment. The results proved the efficiency of the tool using the translation improvement proposed in this paper.
