This paper aims to address initially the implications and consequences of the planned use of image reading in classrooms of Art in the early years of elementary school. Enumerating some contributions to enrich and develop narrative skills, descriptive, analytical and interpretative. Thus, in a next goal will be researched the importance and essentiality of working with the reading of images, not only in art classes but at other opportunities, working intertextuality. This research consists in photograph reading, more specifically, school photographs related to primary teaching in the city of Campinas, between 1897 and 1950. It is based on a heritage constituted of 55 images that analyzes four categories of photographs: school architecture, student classes, teaching body and school activities, these categories illustrate the discourse about school, human contexts and social relations revealed by those images. The text also focuses the iconography documentation relevance for History of Education research, specially, about educational institutions.

This work presents the reading process in yours several levels, emphasizes the aspect of the image reading in children's books aimed at the pre-reader and the initial reader. In the book-image, the narrative text is based on actions involving the characters, time, space and conflict; this text consists of the sequence of illustrations so as to guide the reader by reading the images. Theoretical work enables the production of a book-image authored by researcher and describes the entire creative process until finalization as a physical product

The aim of present work is the interpretation of a Coca Cola soft drink advertising image that is shown on a billboard in the city of Presidente Prudente, in São Paulo state. The billboard shows a scene of the video titled Happiness Factory which was presented on television in 2008. Decoding this kind of image, which is integrated to the theoretical and methodical option, favors the visual perception of shapes and their meanings as a reading of the image and the inclusion of the studies of phenomenology of cultural geography to the social reality could reveal some other dimensions, such as the symbolic, the imaginary, the aesthetic ones.This fact will contribute to widen the social trait of Geography and it represents our object of study.The reading will be done after some reflexion on the function of an external advertisement, that is, within the urban context of Presidente Prudente when refering to billboard being studied. It will also be discussed the importance of becoming a critical reader when interpreting advertising messages presented by the communication means in general.
Resumo:
The paper discusses the use of photographic images in books for children. It identifies the proportion of books for children in Brazil using the photographic image, as well as what categories of books are applied. Elaborates an analytical discussion based on the example of the book Quadrille by Roger Mello, arguing about some characteristics of the use of the photographic image in the literature aimed at children.
