Gênero textual narrativo e produções escritas de escolares: contribuições para a apropriação da linguagem

This paper discusses the conception of textual genres present in the National Curriculum Parameters, regarding our school model, suggesting a program of support for pedagogical practice, the use of narrative genre, from their elements that organize this genre. The written productions of students showed significant growth indicators and ownership of the genre worked.

O gênero acadêmico em questão: uma análise sociorretórica de resumos de dissertações de mestrado do projeto Teletandem Brasil

The goal of this paper is to investigate the academic genre abstract of master's thesis in the context of the research project Teletandem Brasil: foreign languages for all. Taking as starting point the concepts of genre from the social-rhetorical perspective we analyzed ten abstracts of theses (a genre which is already legitimized) related to that project (which is a relatively new context). As a result of the analysis, we noticed the occurrence of a phenomenon that we called reduction of rhetorical effort, which consists in erasing rhetorical units that justify the validity of the research described in the abstracts analyzed. Among the contributions of this paper, we can highlight relevant reflections not only to the discourse communities that support the academic genre but also to the researchers who aspire to a place in this niche.

Um estudo sintático-semântico das preposições em complementos verbais de webjornais paulistas

The main goal of this work is to evaluate the realization of the linguistic phenomenon of preposition and also to investigate how current normative pressures influence the production and the perception of processes of variation and change in Brazilian Portuguese. We analyze the use of prepositions a and para in verbal complementation contexts in contemporary journalistic texts from São Paulo’s press – the web newspapers. The contexts considered are constructions with complements of direction, movement with transference, material transference, and verbal/perceptual predicators (Berlinck, 1996; Corrêa, Cançado, 2006). Because written texts tend to be more conservative (i.e. more normative) this research provides an important linguistic investigation that contributes to the sociolinguistic knowledge of the language. However, the newspapers also tend to reflect the use, so they constitute a privileged place for us to understand the conflicting relationship between ‘norm’ and ‘use’. Besides this, the research is relevant for General Linguistics for considering linguistic and extralinguistic factors which determine the use and frequency of the prepositions, like syntactic-semantic relations between the preposition, the verb, the complement, and the text genre. We collected data from web newspapers from Araraquara, with small and medium circulation. Based on previous results, we have ascertained the predominance of the use of the preposition a in the newspapers from São Paulo in the 20th century. Crítica em perspectiva semiótica: o caso de Barbara Heliodora

This research aims to analyze, based on the theories of French semiotics (or greimasian), the development of the critical text by Barbara Heliodora and drama criticism, a very popular genre in journalism and therefore of great relevance for scholars in the area. The corpus of this research will analyze nine texts by the author, giving priority to her early career (texts from 1957, 1958 and 1962) and her most recent texts (two from 2007 and one from 2010). The choice for greimasian Semiotics is justified because it is a methodology that provides all the necessary elements for interpretation of textual content and its relationship both in the business of the theater and journalism
