Mídia-educação: uma proposta de formação de profissionais de comunicação

This article is based on the results of an experience with training undergraduate and postgraduate communication students for media education. The activities were founded on the theory and practice proposed by British researchers. It was found that many participants held a fragmented knowledge on the subject, permeated by theoretical and mainly methodological doubts.

Media Education and Brazilian Educational Policies for the Enhancement of Learning

As media education concepts and practices have been disseminated and strengthened in European countries and Americas, the policies responsible for that expansion remain little known, particularly in countries where the achievements have been recently noted. That is the case for Brazil, where there have been new opportunities for media education, considered as a valuable resource to help accomplish goals of the educational system. This paper looks into the contribution of media education to the enhancement of teaching and learning in the context of innovations brought by recent policies of the Brazilian Ministry of Education. After educational reform programmes which brought the opportunity for emerging fields such as media education, we produced teaching material and conducted a series of workshops with students and teachers from state secondary schools. By reading and producing multimedia information about local public services available to young people, pupils learned about democracy, citizenship, civic engagement, media language, and identity. Lessons from our experiment are discussed against the backdrop of education policies being implemented to ameliorate harsh conditions resulting from the recent economic crisis. We suggest that media education can help by creating a learning environment in which the students become aware of the value of educational attainments.

Os usos da mídia em aulas de Educação Física escolar: possibilidades e dificuldades

The media through images, sounds and information influences the way students interpret reality. This way, there is the need for the school to reflect on these issues and create teaching strategies to take advantage of this apparatus. The objective of this research was to analyze some possibilities of a proposal that addressed the content body culture through reports published by the newspaper Folha de São Paulo in Physical Education classes. The data indicated the media as a good teaching resource for classes of this course, since the students considered enriching classes for learning.

As Políticas Públicas para a promoção da igualdade racial no contexto de Presidente Prudente

This work aims at presenting the historical and social path traversed in Brazil since slavery until the implementation of affirmative public policies to promote racial equality, at the local level, in the municipality of Presidente Prudente-SP. Therefore, the starting point was the equal rights guaranteed by the Constitution. As a result, there was a brief historical path of national trajectory, starting from slavery to the so-called cordial racism, seeking to demonstrate the route of racial discrimination in the country. Later, we made notes about the necessity and debate on public policy statements of various fields, were made explicit in the text and the articles of the Constitution which prescribe the crime of racism and some of the situations that were highlighted in the national media. The focus in the city of Presidente Prudente was through historical research, interviews, photographic records and documents that informed about the presence of black people in the city. From these data, based on previous research, it was possible to trace the formation and development of the Black Movement in the city and thus point the way to the formation of this City Council for Racial Equality and the need for application of affirmative action policies for the municipality by hereby. Data from the 2000 Census and 2010 indicate the demand of Presidente Prudente as the percentage of blacks self-declared grew this decade. The main demands are paring the areas of Health since the rate of black women Administrative Region (RA) of Presidente Prudente who die in puerperium and high; Education through enhanced, by the Municipal Education Law No. 10,639, and due attention to african-Brazilian culture by respecting the religious manifestations of African origin among others... O rádio na educação brasileira

The scenario that outlines this research project is characterized by the centrality of ICT on society and the necessity of having them embedded on education, both face-to-face and distance learning. Amongst the available ICT, the medium radio has been chosen due to its popularity within Brazilian society, as well as its 90 years of initiatives applied on education. Although the radio seems to be historically useful to education, it has been supporting more conservative approaches, such as teaching centred practices, simplytransmitted lessons and assessment based on memorization. On the other hand, Brazilian educational system has been changed since the early 90s, and those reforms brought new challenges to the radio on education, such as training critical listeners, concerned citizens, people with aesthetic sensibility, ethical standards etc. Thus, a systematic assessment of the real educational possibilities of the radio is even more necessary. This research projectaims to retrieve the most prominent educational initiatives using the radio, connecting them to the Brazilian regulatory framework on Education. The methodology consists of desk research and official documents analyses.

Oferta do ensino fundamental em São Paulo: um novo modelo

Este trabalho propõe-se a refletir sobre o conteúdo e as implicações, para a oferta da educação básica, de duas das principais medidas que sustentaram a reforma da educação paulista implantada pelo primeiro governo de Mario Covas (1995-1998). São elas: a reorganização das escolas da rede estadual e a política de municipalização do ensino fundamental mediante a adoção de convênios.

Ensino de conceitos físicos de termologia para alunos com deficiência visual: dificuldades e alternativas encontradas por licenciandos para o planejamento de atividades

Relatamos aqui resultados parciais de um estudo que analisou o desempenho de futuros professores quando, durante o desenvolvimento de uma disciplina de Prática de Ensino de Física, foram solicitados a planejar, elaborar e ministrar, em situações reais de sala de aula, tópicos de ensino de termologia a uma turma de estudantes, dentre os quais se incluíam alunos com deficiência visual. Os dados coletados mostram que as principais dificuldades apresentadas pelos futuros professores referem-se à abordagem do conhecer fenômenos físicos como dependente do ver. Por outro lado, como alternativas, os futuros professores mostraram criatividade em superar atitudes passivas relativas à problemática educacional considerada e a elaboração de estratégias metodológicas destituídas da relação conhecer/ver.
