A relação entre o social e o natural nas abordagens de hazards e de desastres

O artigo aborda as teorias dos Hazards e dos Desastres. Nos últimos anos estas duas tradições teóricas têm recebido novos impulsos pela renovação de seus marcos de referência conceitual. Construídas em torno de uma longa tradição de pesquisa empírica, estas teorias explicam os impactos provocados por fenômenos como enchentes, terremotos, tornados e epidemias mediante a integração analítica das dimensões natural e social. Neste sentido, seu estudo pode fornecer subsídios para a interpretação destes problemas no Brasil.

Plano de recuperação de desastres: uma pesquisa-ação em empresa do setor energetico

This work has the purpose of demonstrating how to build a Disaster Recovery Plan. In order to achieve such objective, an adaptation of the PDCA method was applied. This plan aims resuming the IT operations as fast as possible after some kind of incident which result the stop of the services or activities. Besides serving as insurance for the continued functioning of the company’s activities, indeed your non-existence brings up risks of financial loss and threatens the company’s image. As to illustrate the functionality and validity, the method was applied in an IT department of an energy company. It was concluded that the plan was well elaborated living up to the purposes described in the objective section of this work and validating the project developed so far, having a percentage of 85% of the overall success of the systems tested

Considerações sobre as consequências dos Desastres Hidrometeorológicos no Brasil de 2009 a 2011

The disaster natural disaster stand as one of the greatest challenges of urban man. Cities are built and modeled as a function of economic and political issues, without respecting environmental characteristics. So it is possible to see through the data of the National Civil Defence large number of disasters occurring in Brazilian cities in the years 2009 to 2011, and in all were reported over 5000 occurrences of natural disasters over the years. This research work aims to analyze and understand the teaching of geography in the perspective of historical and critical pedagogy, with the object of analysis, the Center for Integrated Natural Disaster Alerts (CIADEN) for students in Cycle I of the Elementary School, located in Etec “Astor de Mattos Carvalho”, in Cabrália Paulista-SP. Deepening the knowledge of geography teaching in a critical and controversial about the bad weather and the use of new technologies to transform the social order and its relationship with the environment. Riscos e desastres ambientais causados por inundações em áreas urbanas: um estudo da paisagem sob a visão sistêmica

For a long time, humankind has lived together with flooding, and lately, those events have grown enormously, in particular, in the urban areas from lots of Brazilian cities. The flooding has been causing uncountable disadvantages to population and to the cities. The present paper aimed to study, through a bibliographic review, the risks and natural disasters caused by those events. Trying to approach their causes and effects under a systemic view it emphasized the landscape point.

O monitoramento climático e o alerta de desastres naturais na era da comunicação digital

This article presents considerations concerning the interaction between communication and digital platforms and applications developed to perform computerized climate monitoring and issue alerts about natural disasters. From work in the Center for Integrated Natural Disaster Alert (CIADEN), which processes meteorological data provided by Platform Monitoring, Analysis and Warning TerraMA2 designed by the National Institute for Space Research (INPE) to conduct monitoring and fi ring warning about climate risk environment, we propose the expansion of interactivity with the various possibilities of digital communication available today for signifi cant portion of society. On another front, the CIADEN has articulated teaching and research on climate monitoring and warning of natural disasters, weather, and geoprocessing environment, involving teachers and students both in school and in higher and technical.
