Given the increasing demand for fossil fuels to power the engines of the global economy, and also the slow process of synthesis of oil, it becomes necessary to develop new sources of renewable energy in addition to improve promising sources that already exist, turning them competitive. Based on this, biomass is shown very promising between the most popular energy sources due to its availability, applicability, and above all, the fact of not emitting green house gases when analyzing the whole carbon cycle. In this sense, this work presents, through an environmental, technical and economic analysis, the impact in an aluminum mill of replacing the use of electricity, in one process, by a boiler fueled with biomass from waste process of packaging the finished product with pallets. Thus, besides the reduction of CO2 emissions, financial gains are targeted, since the main goal of the corporations that require such power is to maximize its profits

This monograph discuss the postmodernity social reality issues, emphasizing cultural, communicational, technological and informational extents. Via data collection through specific literature, and sources of different medias( internet, books, comic books, movies, novels, sociological, informational, technological, communicational and humanistic theories) behavioral patterns could be analyzed and the postmodern technological,informational and communicational reality as well, and how they mutually influence the “digital culture” construction (also called cyberculture). The results of this research were used to build a narrative which suits the new culture in development both in shape and in content: the scrip “Hotel Seol”. Otimização do braço inferior da suspensão dianteira do veículo Baja utilizando o método dos elementos finitos

Mass reduction coupled with the mechanical performance in service has been the goal of many projects related to the transport area, considering the advantages that mass reduction can bring. However, make a simple material substitution without design a new geometry to corroborate for the best component performance, often makes the replacement unviable. In this study, it was investigated the advantages of replacing the prototype BAJA SAE front suspension lower arm of Equipe Piratas do Vale de BAJA SAE - Universidade Paulista, Campus Guaratinguetá, actually produced with steel, for a new component made of carbon fiber composite. The new geometry has been developed to provide the best possible performance for this component and your easy manufacturing. The study was done using the 3D modeling tools and computer simulations via finite element method. The first stage of this work consisted on calculation of the estimated maximum contact force tire / soil in a prototype landing after jump at one meter high, drop test in the laboratory with the current vehicle, current front suspension lower arm 3D modeling, finite element simulation and analysis of critical regions. After all current component analysis, a new geometry for the part in study was designed and simulated in order to reduce the component mass and provide a technological innovation using composite materials. With this work it was possible to obtain a theoretical component mass reduction of 25,15% maintaining the mechanical strength necessary for the appropriated component performance when incited

This paper concerns about the durability of new material in construction. It is noteworthy the fact that increases increasingly searching for alternative materials that do not depend only of natural resources and at the same time be an alternative for reuse of industrial waste. Since the construction materials have a long life and a high cost of civil works and maintenance, it is crucial to estimate the behavior of a new product. Thus , this work discuss the durability of mixed mortar lining , made with waste from the process Kraft pulp production , known as dregs and grits , in partial replacement of sand. Tests were conducted to simulate conditions as adverse environments of constant heat and fire, with the aim of analyzing the behavior of mortar mixed matched the behavior of standard mortar

TFor companies to remain competitive should seek investment in the project management through new tools. The method Critical Chain has been considered an innovative way to manage projects, to promote change and give great results. However, there are still some questions to be answered and there are few papers reporting on the implementation of CCPM method in real environment of multiple projects. This work analyze the deployment process of Critical Chain at a company in the technology sector, in order to check the risk factors, advantages and difficulties in that process. From the field of theoretical economics of education, authors discuss the concept of human capital with its economical dimensions, presenting their affinities and disparities with Keynesians, neoclassical economics and the evolutionary economics of Schumpeter.

Cenas didático-pedagógicas e suas relações com o desenvolvimento da racionalidade tecnológica

Marcuse’s concept of technological rationality is still quite real because it allows for a critical analysis of our society. When applied to education it shows how our social practices, objectively organized with the help of technological devices, supercede themselves and create systemic consequences. This article analyzes some of these consequences for educational policies and forms of school management by investigating day-to-day occurences in a small school in the São Paulo countryside.

Teoria crítica da sociedade: um olhar sobre a educação em tempos de sociedade tecnológica

This article aims to discuss and reflect on the contributions of the Critical Theory of Society called for the field of education in times of increasing technological development. Therefore, we look to the works of three authors exponents of Critical Theory: Walter Benjamin, Theodor W. Adorno and Herbert Marcuse, highlighting the reflections and analyzes of these authors and using them as input in the educational field. The selfreflective and self-education is conceived in its potential to overcome the conditions of domination that remain in our society increasingly technified and supposedly democratic. Thus, the educational praxis think it seems like something urgent and necessary to be broken with certain conditions that keeps our potential to barbarism.

Análise do crescimento das empresas de base tecnológica no Brasil

Technology-Based Firms (TBFs) are companies with intensive innovation dynamics based on technical competences, and for which high growth rates are expected. Nevertheless, even in developed countries, the evidence suggests that significantly high growth rates are more the exception than the rule. In Brazil, most studies on TBFs focus on factors that limit their success, such as managerial experience and capital availability. Based on extensive field research and on a reliable enterprise growth rate indicator, this article aims to evaluate the expansion of those firms, analyzing its relation to key elements such as degree of consolidation, market insertion, and public policy support. We found a growth rate which, although widely varied amongst firms, was significant and was not directly related to the amount of public policy support.
