Preservação digital nas instituições de ensino superior: aspectos organizacionais, legais e técnicos

This article analyzes the main aspects related to digital preservation in Higher Education Institution (HEI). Discusses the problems and challenges to be facing in this context and presents the main aspects and strategies involving digital preservation in this institution type, focusing on three: the organizational aspects, the legal aspects and the technical aspects. The methodological procedures involved the literature analysis on the subject area. As a result shows a digital preservation policy that includes 15 (fifteen) essential elements, distributed in three segments (aspects), and the importance of each element to the deployment of a digital preservation policy.

Cleaner Production initiatives and challenges for a sustainable world: an introduction to this special volume

This special volume of the Journal of Cleaner Production is comprised of articles presented at the 3rd International Workshop Advances in Cleaner Production held in Sao Paulo, Brazil, in 2011. The content underscores the recognition of the pressing and inescapable need for making changes from unsustainable to sustainable production and consumption patterns. The 48 articles from 15 countries provide different, but complimentary approaches to help industrial and societal sectors in advancing on their paths towards sustainability. Initiatives and challenges are included, which systematically address problems affecting raw material changes, technological modifications, product and policy changes. The findings range from proposals for alternative uses of wastes, substitution of raw materials for environmentally friendlier substances, optimization of industrial processes by source reductions of wastes and emissions and documented economic and environmental advantages of a wide array of initiatives. The roles of operational and managerial practices are also stressed, highlighting the role of diverse stakeholders as promoters of implementation and internalization of innovative cleaner technologies within companies. Systemic assessment tools are employed and experimented with in order to more effectively evaluate the environmental performance of systems on the biosphere scale. The methodological procedures and proposals presented can help in the design and management of production systems, for governmental and corporate policy development, for implementing and monitoring CP Programs, prevention and mitigation strategies, and evaluation of the outcomes of CP initiatives in the production and service sectors. Multilatinas na global economy. historical characterization, sectorial and space

The successive crises for which has passed in the world economy since the years 1970, together with the United States 'hegemonic crisis, have created the conditions for the reordering and the construction of a multipolar world, with the increasing importance of some peripheral countries into the world economy, particularly with regard to capital flows. This article represents an effort to bring to light the analysis on the decrease of importance of developed countries in world investment flows and corresponding increase in the relevance of some peripheral countries. The objective underlying the text is understanding the expansion of space circuits of production of multinational companies in Latin America (Multilatinas) at different spatial scales, by means of an analysis of the temporal, spatial and sectoral dimensions of the investments. The methodological procedures adopted covered survey, selection and bibliographic data compilation, reading in international organizations (UNCTAD and ECLAC), systematization of data, analysis of data in the light of the theoretical reflections.

Análise Documental de obras de ficção: aspectos metodológicos de aplicabilidade

The methodological aspects of the content analysis of fiction with information retrieval purposes are discussed with a focus on the study of textual analysis for the identification of the themes treated in stories. It is assumed that the methodological procedures used for indexing scientific works do not produce satisfactory results when applied to narrative fiction documents. The aim of this paper is to present the gerative sense course as a methodology to extract themes from works of fiction, and to study its application to the indexing of tales by indexers. The methodology used is the construction of gerative sense course, identifying both the narrative level structures (manipulation, competence, performance and punishment) and the discourse level (themes and figures) in order to obtain the theme of the document. The results demonstrated the feasibility of the application of the gerative sense course to the documentary content analysis of works of fiction, in the sense that it provided a clear annotations of the theme of the document that was being indexed by the cataloguers. Several questions related to this procedure require further clarification and also a preliminary study with professionals in the form of a pilot project.

A percepção de crianças e adolescentes sobre cenas de violência urbana

The article presents part of an evolutionary study regarding the ideas of children and adolescents on urban violence. The study included 40 subjects aged between 6 and 15; consisting of 10 subjects aged 6, 10 aged 9, 10 aged 12, and 10 aged 15. All subjects were enrolled in two public schools, one located in the interior of São Paulo’s State and the other in greater São Paulo. The subjects underwent three methodological procedures: a clinical interview, the drawing of a picture, and the analysis of a movie. In this paper we present data taken from the movie presentation, a silent cartoon which contained scenes of violence. The results indicate that subjects have difficulty in understanding the phenomenon of violence and its complexity. Subjects associated violence only with the most visible and concrete situations or conflicts, and they cannot identify the different types of violence contained in the drawings. The analysis and the theoretical references are based on the Piagetian perspective on the construction of social knowledge. Pedagogical implications based on evolutionary studies and the comprehension of the processes performed to the understanding of the social reality will be presented in this article, as well.

Psicogênese da Noção de Violência: um estudo evolutivo a partir da perspectiva piagetiana

All subjects were enrolled in two public schools, one located in the interior of São Paulo’s State and the other in greater São Paulo. The subjects underwent three methodological procedures: a clinical interview, the drawing of a picture, and the analysis of a movie. In this paper, we present the data obtained from the application of the clinical interview, specifically those concerning the main theme: “definition of violence.” The results indicate that most subjects have difficulties in understanding and defining the phenomenon of violence and its complexity. They tend to associate it only to the most visible and concrete situations or conflicts, focusing on a basic level of understanding of the social reality. The analysis and the theoretical references are based on the Piagetian perspective about the construction of social knowledge. Pedagogical implications based on the evolutionary psychogenic studies as well as the understanding of the processes covered for the understanding of social reality are also presented in the article.
