Lazer, aventura e risco: reflexões sobre atividades realizadas na natureza

This paper reflects on the conceptions of adventure and risk, revealed in activities in nature. The presented speeches are contained in a research, whose boarding works with a universe of reasons, aspirations, values, beliefs and attitudes, corresponding to a deeper space of the processes, relations and phenomena. It was possible to perceive that the adventure activities in nature are carrying of innumerable meanings, related with new discoveries, new challenges, search for the stranger, uncertainty, cooperation, friendship, among others. Such activities understand diverse forms of experimentation, pointing besides to physical risk, the symbolic and imaginary risk.

The values attached to natural resources have changed through time because of changes in human needs as well as technological skill. Such changes become clear in the different forms of relationship which are established between man and nature. This paper presents methodological questions and new ideas related to the Geosciences concepts and its development in association to the Natural Sciences study for Elementary and Basic Schools. Special attention has been focused to the NIMEC', a project responsible for programs to the Natural Sciences progress and global information in the Environmental Education. The geologic environment relationships constitute the demarcator that includes some Environmental Education matter. Interdisciplinary focus seems to be the most adequate way to the necessary community participation. -English summary

Concepções da atividade física: Perspectivas para o fortalecimento da nação

From the 1930's, particularly during World War II, some different phenomena rise as alternatives to strengthen the people's physical, especially in countries like Germany and Italy. Keeping different proportions, that phenomenon was seen in Brazil through a policy to increase the value of the physical activities, mainly during the Estado Novo. This article tries to analyze that policy.

Concepções de surdez: A visão do surdo que se comunica em língua de sinais

At this time, diverse views on deafness are present in society. Such views, in general, arecharacterized by theoretical disputes between communicative possibilities - either oral or gestural - based onthe importance of having appropriated oneself of a language code for the development of language, which isessential in the constitution of subjectivity of human beings. Thus, this study aimed to identify the conceptionsof deaf people had about their condition. To collect the data we used semi-structured interviews, applied toten participants who were deaf adult users of the Brazilian Sign Language - Libras. The interviews were taped,transcribed and subjected to content analysis. The results indicate that the conceptions of deafness constitute amultifaceted view on this condition, infl uenced by social relations throughout each person's life trajectories. Theresearchers perceived that learning Libras enabled deaf persons to constitute their own assertiveness as someonewho is different, with different needs.

Influência das concepções europeias na formulação do pensamento urbanístico paulista

This article aims to present a list of the main influences experimented by architects and urbanists to formulate an urban thought of Sao Paulo City. This way, it will be discussed the main issues raised between the first decades of the XX Century until the 1950s, trying to foresee how the engineers and architects worked to incorporate the urbanistic proposals from Europe and the United States. On the first three sections of this article, it will be presented the concepts that effectively impacted the paulista urban thought of the first half of the XX Century: Sanitarism, the pendulum design: between the Mesologic Theory and the Microbian Theory; Camillo Sitte's historicist formulation; Howard Garden Town and the French experience. Our analysis was formulated by having as a reference a broad and systematic literature, documents stored at Arquivo Histórico Municipal de Araraquara (SP), visits to Faculdade de Arquitetura e Urbanismo da USP Library and to Faculdade de Ciências e Letras da Unesp, Araraquara. The analysis shows that two urbanistic planner streams that happened in São Paulo State were clearly influenced by the conceptions that led the urbanistic debates in the first half of the XX Century. So, these conceptions compose a painting of the urban interventions in São Paulo City.
