As representações sociais da mãe negra na cidade de São Paulo (1945-1978)

Trata-se de um artigo que discute as representações sociais da mãe negra presentes, sobretudo, nos jornais e nos depoimentos de ativistas negros. A partir desta abordagem, descortinou-se o processo de construção de um símbolo feminino atrelado à análise da função da mulher negra como ama-de-leite e a experiência sócio cultural da população negra. As evocações ao símbolo da mãe negra surgiram ainda nas comemorações das datas históricas, ocorridas no centro da cidade de São Paulo, durante o século XX.

Consciência e crítica da linguagem: Graciliano Ramos / Language awareness and criticism: Graciliano Ramos

Uma leitura atenta da ficção de Graciliano Ramos pode revelar uma forma aguda de refletir o mundo através de uma reflexão anterior sobre a própria linguagem da literatura e da sociedade. É uma leitura desse teor que se pretende mostrar, apoiada na conhecida teoria das funções da linguagem de Jakobson. Num jogo constante entre as funções fática e metalingüística, Graciliano Ramos demonstra visível consciência dos problemas de linguagem, cujo tratamento moderno aponta uma postura bastante crítica (via linguagem) perante o homem e a vida. An attentive of Graciliano Ramos’ fiction reveals a deep form of reflection on the world thorough a previous reflection on the very language of literature and society. Such a reading is here attempted based on Jakobson’s well known theory of language functions. In a constante play between the fatic and the metalinguistic function, Graciliano Ramos demonstrates a clear awareness of the problems of language, whose modern treatment points at a very critical poise (via language) before man and life.

Língua e sociedade nas páginas da imprensa negra paulista: um olhar sobre as formas de tratamento

O estudo das inter-relações entre língua e sociedade, a partir de um corpus jornalístico, é o foco primordial desse livro. Trata-se da investigação do sistema de formas de tratamento nos jornais da Imprensa Negra paulista - movimento realizado por negros e destinado a essa população no período posterior à abolição da escravatura no Brasil - e em O Combate - jornal de circulação mais ampla na cidade de São Paulo no início do século XX. As formas de tratamento representam um exemplo privilegiado da relação entre a escolha linguística e seu motivador social. Elas foram analisadas a partir da relação de alguns pontos de vista teóricos, a saber: o estudo do jornal como um hipergênero, proposta de Bonini (2003, 2004, 2006), com o intuito de se avaliar as características peculiares de cada um dos gêneros do jornal; a proposta de análise da situação do interlocutor no momento da enunciação de Soto (2001); a investigação das marcas de interatividade, proposta por Andrade (2008); e a semântica do poder e da solidariedade de Brown e Gilman (1972 [1960]). O estudo desse fenômeno linguístico revelou à necessidade dos negros do período de conquistarem um espaço na sociedade paulistana da época e, dessa forma, a Imprensa Negra representava um espaço de circulação de sua voz na sociedade.

Suscetibilidade à podridão negra e produtividade de brócolis em função de doses de nitrogênio e potássio

The purpose of this study was to investigate the influence of potassium and nitrogen on the severity of black rot and yield of head. The experiment was carried out in split plots with factorial subplots, in randomized blocks with four replications. In the plots we assessed the influence of inoculation (injured plants with distilled water and inoculated with Xanthomonas campestris pv. campestris) and in the subplots we evaluated the 4 x 4 factorial, potassium doses (0, 275, 550 and 825 kg ha-1) and nitrogen (0, 150, 300 and 450 kg ha-1). The hybrid Broccoli BRO68 was inoculated using the toothpick method at 64 days after sowing. We observed that potassium in the plant reduced the disease, but nitrogen increased disease. We estimated that the highest levels of potassum in the plant reduced the severity of the disease but lack or excess of nitrogen increased disease severity. The highest production of broccoli inflorescence was obtained at doses from 541 to 751 kg ha-1 of K2O and 286 to 328 kg ha-1 of N. However, when considering a balanced fertilization to obtain higher yield and size of inflorescences and greater resistance to black rot, the ideal doses are 283 kg ha-1 of N and 550 kg ha-1 of K2O.

Consciência e matéria: o dualismo de Bergson

Este livro remete a três complexas questões filosóficas as quais abordaremos a partir do pensamento de Bergson: a natureza da consciência, a natureza da matéria e a relação entre consciência e matéria. Tendo em vista os objetivos do presente estudo apresentaremos essa temática, cuja história é longa e tortuosa, a partir daquela que pode ser considerada como a sua formulação paradigmática, a de Descartes, referência teórica fundamental com a qual a tradição filosófica posterior, inclusive contemporânea, dialoga e da qual não consegue se desvencilhar, em que pesem os grandes desenvolvimentos das ciências físicas e biológicas. É por meio de um exercício de aproximação e de distanciamento em relação ao pensamento de Descartes que buscaremos compreender os principais aspectos da filosofia de Bergson e refletir criticamente sobre os seus fundamentos.

Múltiplas imagens: a representação da mulher negra no Brasil

The aim of this paper is to present the readings, the reflections that have emerged, and, also, the results obtained by the search Multiple Images: The representation of black women in Brazil. The project aimed to find the black woman‟ images presented in historically constructed representations, for this was made a cut in images production of black people, choosing three artists, two works of each in three different historical moments, which according to the recanted the look of your time. Caracterização do desempenho de escolares com e sem dificuldades de aprendizagem em tarefas de consciência fonológica

Learning to read and write at an early stage is the process of transferring the sound form of the spoken language for the graphical form of writing, a process, a time that in our system of alphabetical called writing, the letters are graphical representations in the level of phoneme. So that this representation occurs, it is necessary that the individual already can of some form perceive and manipulate the different sonorous segments of the word. This capacity of perception directed to the segments of the word calls Phonological Awareness. Thus, it was established had for objective to verify the pertaining to school performance of 1ª to 4ª series with and without of learning in Tests of Phonological Awareness. Fourth children with age average of 9 years and 3 months without learning disabilities had been submitted to the Protocol of Phonological Awareness (CIELO, 2002) using of this instrument had participated of this study 80 pertaining to school of both only the phonological tasks. The data received from quantiqualitative approach whose results were extracted inferences. The statistically significant results occurred in the tasks of Realism Face Detection, Syllables, Detecting Phonemes, Phonemic Synthesis and Reversal Phonemic. Based on the results we observed that children without learning difficulties performed better on all tasks mentioned above

To do this, articulations between theory and practice are made, based on Virginia Woolf’s composition process of her first novel, pointing out the author’s artistic ability and political consciousness.

A poesia negra de Harryette Mullen em tradução: (des)encontros com o leitor

Com base em quatro poemas da autora afro-americana contemporânea Harryette Mullen, por mim traduzidos para o português, e nas questões suscitadas por sua obra, este trabalho investiga as seguintes questões: quais seriam os desafios de se traduzir sua poesia, levando-se em consideração os lugares discursivos dos leitores identificados ou não com a estética literária afro-brasileira? Essa (não-) identificação exerceria alguma influência no modo como sua poesia poderia ser lida em tradução? Assim, neste trabalho, busca-se contrastar as questões raciais e estéticas que fundamentam a visão de Mullen a respeito de sua poesia e de seu público-leitor (imaginado) com as questões de público-alvo, contextualmente diversas, que minhas traduções de seus poemas requerem “imaginar” no âmbito das relações sócio-raciais brasileiras.

Mais ou menos negra? Questões de negritude, tradução e a poesia de Harryette Mullen

This paper addresses issues regarding my translation of selected poems by Harryette Mullen, a rising African-American contemporary poet, whose dense poetry works on the black oral tradition, the experimentalism of writing, the (African-American) pop music, in addition to delving into issues such as the representation of (black) female sexuality. One of the complex aspects of her poetry is the notion of miscegenation, conceived as an aesthetic argument and as a constitutive condition of the identity of multiracial Americans. This concept establishes a textuality that questions the accessible intelligibility generally expected from black American poetry, insofar as a mosaic of dissonant voices are brought to light in her text, which makes it difficult to categorize. In Brazil, especially among politically engaged Afro-Brazilians, there has been criticism towards the praise of miscegenation, since the latter has been considered to support of the myth of racial democracy. Building on these aspects, we investigate the extent to which it is a challenge to translate her poetry – based on miscegenation and hybridity as aesthetic constructs – especially when taking into account the discursive locus of readers identified with an Afro-Brazilian aesthetic, particularly critical of miscegenation. From the point of view of translation, we evaluate the extent to which her poetry could be read by the predominant cultural discourse in Brazil, inclined to favor miscegenation as an integral concept of national identity, as a seductively experimental poetry. In view of this, one wonders whether this perspective makes hers poetry “less black” for Afro-Brazilian literary standards.

Como os pesquisadores da UNESP-Botucatu concebem a ética na experimentação animal? Consciência ou obediência?: subtitulo

Atualmente existe um consenso de que os pesquisadores estão mais conscientes em relação ao trato com as cobaias e com o bem estar animal, ao mesmo tempo, sabe-se que os comitês de ética recentes estão intensificando a fiscalização dos laboratórios. Há também leis a respeito do trato com os animais utilizados para experimentação que conta com penas, como multas em dinheiro até a exoneração do cargo de cientista e pesquisador. Investigaram-se os pesquisadores, através de um questionário, se estão mais conscientes acerca do bem estar animal ou apenas se adéquam as diretrizes dos comitês de ética para que seu projeto seja aprovado. Além de notarmos diferenças significativas entre os pesquisadores anteriores e posteriores a Lei 11.794/08 que instituiu os comitês de ética. Tendo os mais novos uma sistematização maior no trato com as cobaias enquanto os antigos repensaram suas formas de pesquisa. Quanto ao bem estar animal, nota-se que apenas se adequaram às leis, e que caso as mesmas não houvessem sido criadas não fariam alterações em seus laboratórios

The present work has for objective to analyze the issue of training environmental awareness and its role in contemporary society. With the alarming scenario of degradation and environmental imbalance , political, social and non-governmental institutions have established the urgent need for an education that make changes in social behavior in relation to the environment. With this design is establishing environmental education, however the economic , financial and social scenario in which is inserted dismantles its effectiveness , since the transformations of modernity incited alienation, reification , individualization , indifference and consumerism . In this juncture it is noticed that environmental education needs to be analyzed by the perspective of a man in critical reflection of the capitalist structure. Given this need , it is proposed to reading Italo Calvino's work , since it approach the whole context of modern man , with his ailments , anxiety, exploitation , selfishness and destructive action of itself, others and the environment in living
