In order to enable the reuse of the large surplus volume of petroleum produced water for irrigation of crops inedible, the quality evaluation of this water is very important. This work aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of the diffusive gradient in thin films technique (DGT) for the determination of labile Cu (II), Mn (II) and Zn (II) in petroleum produced water destined to reuse in agriculture. Samples were collected at the exit of the wastewater treatment plant (WWTP) (after separation oil/water and flotation) of a Petrobrás onshore production region. Basically, the laboratory experiments with DGT devices involved the evaluation of the behavior of the main variables of the technique for determination of analytes in the samples (diffusion coefficients, immersion time, fractionation of organic and inorganic species, and performance of diffusion gels with different porosities, among others). Also, experiments were conducted based on the solid phase extraction (SPE) protocol with Chelex- 100 resin using previously established protocols to support the study. During the project the possibility of in situ immersions in water treatment plants was evaluated. The DGT technique presented satisfactory results for determination of Mn in produced water, and can be used for in situ determinations. However, the results obtained for Cu and Zn show the need of additional studies

Nowadays, meditation had become larger than the mystic’s scope, entering the academy through the scientific interest in this topic. Results documented for so many centuries or the experienced monks that practice meditation for a long time are the aims for researches that want, ultimately, establish the real effects of such techniques upon the human body. Research has gone far, and many effects can be evaluated using more precise methods, specially in the medical field and neuroscience, which had greatly backed up new discoveries about the correlation between the mind, emotions, thoughts and the body, making so that mediation can walk the therapeutic ways and complementary health with more certainty and reliable results, as it is happening with acupuncture and yoga. Facing a promising scenario in the correlation between meditation and life’s quality, well being sensation and happiness, there is the possibility of using it in schools, since because of the difficulties and present challenges, those factors are not commonly associated with the acts of teaching and learning, and acupuncture and Yoga have more restrictions because of their own limitations of time and space necessary for their wide application. Therefore, the current study focused on contextualizing the meditation’s fundaments in the scientific perspective, and apply it, even if qualitatively, in two schools of Rio Claro municipality, researching 57 students from Educação de Jovens e Adultos (EJA). Therefore, it was chosen only one meditation tecnique to be applied on the treatment group. As for the control group, it perfomed normal breathing, i.e., without tecniques. The differences were then analyzed through the filmings of all the sessions of the meetings, counting the number of movements and the agitation among the students for the two groups. In the modern world it is common to witness the family or the school complaining about the behavior of children. Parents have lost control of how to educate their children, who have difficulty in following rules, boundaries and discipline. In the short time they stay with their children, their parents feel desperate in how to educate and seek the help of experts who apply techniques inspired by behavioral therapy. A recent phenomenon is the search of the family by the media, so that helps to set limits for their children. The main objective of this study is to identify intervention techniques used in television show called Supernanny, verifying the concept of education and its effects on family. The methodology is exploratory research, using technical analysis as a specific program for television, videorecorded. Data analysis was performed by a video recording of the three programs shown, which were compared using frames. Contact that currently, the parent-child relationship is permeated by a lack of boundaries, which causes families to seek guidance from experts and the media - which is one of the most powerful means of dissemination and communication. The program presents Supernanny behavioral techniques that seem to work with a simple sleight of hand, but in real life translates into a long-time adjustments, challenges and frustrations. Moreover, many of them induce the conditioning, to achieve something by means of strengthening and heteronomy, which leads the viewer to take a more critical eye on those programs

A destruição da camada de ozônio resulta em um preocupante aumento na incidência de radiação ultravioleta (UV) na superfície da Terra, radiação esta, responsável pela ocorrência de danos na pele e pelo aparecimento do câncer de pele, tipo mais comum de câncer. Assim, neste trabalho foram desenvolvidos sistemas líquido-cristalinos multifuncionais contendo nanopartículas de dióxido de titânio, cuja propriedade fotoprotetora é bem conhecida, e alfa-tocoferol, um composto com ação antioxidante. Com isso, pretendeu-se desenvolver uma formulação que atue como protetor solar inorgânico, bloqueando a radiação UV e impedindo sua penetração que pode causar sérios danos à pele, além de conter o alfa-tocoferol que interage com os radicais livres, diminuindo os danos causados por estes. Para tanto, inicialmente foram preparadas formulações baseadas em dois diagramas de fases, as amostras que apresentaram separação de fase foram excluídas do trabalho, e as outras foram submetidas à análise de microscopia de luz polarizadas. Através da microscopia de luz polarizada foi possível concluir que a estrutura líquido-cristalina é mantida com a incorporação dos ativos no sistema, o que posteriormente foi confirmado com a análise por SAXS. A análise do potencial zeta permitiu verificar que na faixa de pH entre 5 e 7, indicada para produtos de uso tópico, é possível evitar aglomeração das partículas, e com isso obter um visual transparente do produto. A avaliação do comportamento possibilitou concluir que todas as amostras apresentaram uma consistência ideal para aplicação do produto na pele

Disputas agressivas são comuns em peixes ciclídeos, tanto em indivíduos juvenis quanto adultos. Quando os indivíduos estão maduros sexualmente o efeito do gênero na resolução e perfil dos confrontos é mais claro. Em geral, os indivíduos machos são mais agressivos que as fêmeas e defendem agressivamente territórios reprodutivos e outros recursos. Contudo, o efeito desta variável não é bem conhecido em confrontos entre indivíduos juvenis em peixes. Assim, neste estudo foi testado o efeito do gênero na expressão do comportamento agressivo da tilápia-do-Nilo, Oreochromis niloticus, uma espécie de peixe comumente utilizado como modelo para o estudo do comportamento agressivo. Analisamos em pares de tilápia a latência para início do confronto, a frequência de interações agressivas e a duração da disputa e probabilidade de ser dominante. Após o pareamento, o sexo de cada indivíduo foi verificado histologicamente e comparamos os valores obtidos para pares de fêmea vs fêmea, macho vs macho e fêmea vs macho. Apenas em confrontos macho vs macho, a frequência de exibições frontais foi maior em relação aos pares monosexo de fêmeas. Concluímos que o gênero influencia muito discretamente as disputas agressivas em juvenis de tilápia-do-Nilo e não afeta a probabilidade de se tornar dominante em um par

When it comes to teaching physics in the early years of elementary school, the first question is: but there are opportunities to teach concepts to children of such complexity? This study sought to examine approaches and strategies to enter the Basic Education in Physics. To this end, we used low cost materials testing, taking as its starting point the work of Ferreira (1978) instrumentation for Teaching Physics, particularly with the theme electrostatics. The present study was made from the use of prototypes developed with the materials cited. Observations were made in the classroom looking for, from the records of teaching, analyzing the behavior of children and their arguments, possibilities for Physics Teaching this age group as well as some evidence of their cognitive development. In teaching discussions were held with students of the early years of elementary school involving conceptual and phenomenological aspects, adapting such knowledge at the level of logical and mathematical thinking that was still under development. The work shows that it is possible to work on electrostatic physical concepts with children belonging to the age group of nine to ten years. With the support of the group Pibid Physics city of Rio Claro, I realize my observations and practices at the Municipal School Marcelo Schmidt, which proved to be available and open for acceptance of this proposal
