Revista Popular (1859-1863) e Jornal das Famílias (1863-1878): um perfil dos periódicos de Garnier

The purpose of this paper is to show some characteristics and essential information related to the Brazilian periodicals in the 19th century Revista Popular (1859-1862) and Jornal das Famílias (1863-1878), whose owner was the Frenchman Baptiste Louis Garnier. By that time the proliferation of periodicals attracts attention mainly because several of them had ephemeral existence, in opposition to Garnier’s periodicals which as a whole amount to 19 years in circulation. The research on these periodicals becomes relevant since they are well succeeded publications whose study makes possible the widening of the knowledge on social and cultural aspects of a very important period in Brazilian society.

Gestão para eficiência energética: levantamento e análise da produção científica divulgada em alguns periódicos das áreas de engenharia de produção e administração (2001-2011)

This research leads to a meta-analysis of scientific production in energy efficiency in industrial sectors, recorded in ten (10) leading journals in Administration and Engineering Production in Brazil, between 2001 and 2011. To this end, this scholarship was examined based on the following parameters: a) the total contribution and journal articles, b) methods used in studies, and c) the theoretical gaps to exploit. The diagnosis is that one infers: academic work in energy efficiency industries accounted for only twenty-nine (29) published articles, and only eight (8) have energy efficiency as a central theme of the work. Although the results still showed a rising trend in the number of publications since the last five (5) years analyzed showed 65.5% of all published files relating to energy efficiency. It contributes, therefore, the systematization of the academic production in the area of energy efficiency and business subsidies are provided for this field of research in Brazil.

Privatização da educação no Brasil: como o tema vem sendo tratado em publicações de periódicos que estão no Scielo

Education is a basic right of every citizen guaranteed by the Federal Constitution of 1988, so that everyone is able to exercise their civil, political, economic and social. But in Brazil, this right has not yet been effected in all its concreteness and current privatization strategy have brought change to the right to education. Recent research from GREPPE (Group of Studies and Research in Educational Policy) identify different modalities of privatization of basic education, with emphasis on the privatization of supply, management and organization of the pedagogical work through the adoption of private educational systems. This study aimed to identify and discuss how the issue of privatization of education in Brazil is currently being treated in journal articles contained in the database SciELO - Scientific Electronic Library Online. Autoria em artigos científicos: os novos desafios

A disseminação da prática de coautoria no Brasil e na comunidade internacional tem sido acompanhada pelo aumento no registro de fraudes, manipulações e outros desvios ao definir a responsabilidade por um trabalho científico. Este artigo discorre sobre os critérios utilizados para atribuição da autoria, as razões para o crescimento dos índices de coautoria e os desafios para estabelecer a autoria em periódicos eletrônicos. Por meio de revisão bibliográfica e estudo de caso (a partir de levantamento de base de dados), aponta caminhos para evitar que desvios de comportamento quanto à atribuição de autoria abalem a credibilidade da ciência.

O Brasil que Portugal escreveu: pedagogia e política sem comemorações

O estudo aqui proposto centrar-se-á nas imagens do Brasil expressas por manuais didáticos, por periódicos e por intelectuais portugueses do século XIX. Pretende-se, a partir de tal documentação, reconstituir alguma atmosfera mental que circundava as idéias de Brasil e a percepção da nação portuguesa sobre o tema do Brasil, da emigração e dos brasileiros. Mediante tal enfoque, entendemos ser possível tanto compreender as identidades que configuravam uma dada mitologia cultural quanto a demarcação de distâncias e diferenças.
