EVOLUÇÃO DOS CONHECIMENTOS SOBRE AS COQUINAS-RESERVATÓRIO DA FORMAÇÃO LAGOA FEIA NO TREND BADEJO-LINGUADO-PAMPO, BACIA DE CAMPOS

É feita uma análise da evolução dos conhecimentos sobre as coquinas-reservatório da Formação Lagoa Feia, com base em cinco publicações de geologia de desenvolvimento dos campos de Badejo, Linguado e Pampo. Trata-se de uma única acumulação, onde o controle é misto, ou seja, estrutural, estratigráfico e principalmente diagenético. Falhas antitéticas herdadas do rifteamento pós-basáltico exercem um importante papel no controle das coquinas, promovendo crescimento da seção nos blocos baixos, e servindo de conduto para a circulação de água meteórica, relacionada à discordância pós-coquina que promove dissolução e criação de porosidade secundária nas coquinas. A compreensão do modelo de acumulação do óleo é fundamental tendo em vista oportunidades para projetos de recuperação suplementar de óleo.

Revolução Mexicana e imprensa operária brasileira: leitura libertária e circulação de idéias

Neste artigo, apresentaremos os principais pontos de minha dissertação de mestrado em andamento, intitulada “Operários e Camponeses. A repercussão da Revolução Mexicana na Imprensa Operária Brasileira (1910-1920)”. Por meio de uma leitura crítica das matérias jornalísticas sobre a Revolução do México que foram publicadas em periódicos da imprensa operária brasileira, no decênio de 1910 até 1920, pretendemos investigar e compreender o impacto desse acontecimento na embrionária classe operária brasileira no início do século XX.

Língua e sociedade nas páginas da imprensa negra paulista: um olhar sobre as formas de tratamento

O estudo das inter-relações entre língua e sociedade, a partir de um corpus jornalístico, é o foco primordial desse livro. Trata-se da investigação do sistema de formas de tratamento nos jornais da Imprensa Negra paulista - movimento realizado por negros e destinado a essa população no período posterior à abolição da escravatura no Brasil - e em O Combate - jornal de circulação mais ampla na cidade de São Paulo no início do século XX. As formas de tratamento representam um exemplo privilegiado da relação entre a escolha linguística e seu motivador social. Elas foram analisadas a partir da relação de alguns pontos de vista teóricos, a saber: o estudo do jornal como um hipergênero, proposta de Bonini (2003, 2004, 2006), com o intuito de se avaliar as características peculiares de cada um dos gêneros do jornal; a proposta de análise da situação do interlocutor no momento da enunciação de Soto (2001); a investigação das marcas de interatividade, proposta por Andrade (2008); e a semântica do poder e da solidariedade de Brown e Gilman (1972 [1960]). O estudo desse fenômeno linguístico revelou à necessidade dos negros do período de conquistarem um espaço na sociedade paulistana da época e, dessa forma, a Imprensa Negra representava um espaço de circulação de sua voz na sociedade.

A circulação do discurso da Amway: do controle à prática discursiva

In this paper, we intend to contribute to the debate about the circulation of the discourses. To do that, we analyze aspects regarding the circulation of Amway's discourse, a North-American network sales company that has been working in Brazil for a while. Precisely, we analyze the conditions of this circulation at the time it was more intensively, ie, in the 90s, when there were thousands of people in several parts of the country selling the company's products or consuming them. This study has been based on French Discourse Analysis with focus on both Michel Foucault's insights on the control mechanisms of discourse and Maingueneau's reformulated notion of discursive practice. The analysis reveals that Amway's discourse displays features of a doctrine, and, as a discursive practice, it cannot be conceived of as separated from the subjects who convey it, nor from its hierarchical organization, nor from the events that the company promotes and those which are promoted under its name. In these terms, the analysis shows how the discourse is not only a set of texts, but also concerns to the institutional network related to the social group that the enunciation of discourse presupposes and makes it possible.

Circulação atmosférica e precipitação pluviométrica na Bacia do Itajaí - SC: um estudo climatológico aplicado

The work is guided by the detailing of the Itajaí river basin, SC, rainfall dynamics at the annual, seasonal and monthly levels, allowing us to identify different responses that each location gives to the regional atmospheric circulation, particularly the rainfall. In this sense, we are aiming at approaching the concept of rhythm, which must be obtained at the daily level. The analysis at different climate scales was possible through isohyetal maps, trend lines, and Schroeder pluviographs. Moreover, we established the flow rate of the air masses by means of the Venn diagram. This data made it possible to assess the behavior of rains on that site and the reason why it is the stage of major flooding, as occurred in November 2008. The relatively mountainous topography combined with the frequent invasions of the Atlantic Polar Front, which often stop over the region, generate events of that magnitude, with high volumes accumulated in short periods of time. Such extreme events reinforce the idea of the search for the succession of types of weather to the detriment of averages that tend to abstract the reality

Silicosis, a common type of pneumoconiosis, is an occupational lung disease caused by inhalation of silica dust often with mining activity and thus reaches the miners. The fine and ultrafine silica particles deposited in the alveolar epithelium may lead to the development of progressive massive fibrosis. An increased reactive oxygen species (ROS) production has been proposed to explain the mechanism for induction of pulmonary fibrosis in silicosis. In this situation, alveolar macrophages are activated to phagocytes silica particles deposited in the alveoli. The activated macrophages secrete large amounts of ROS that in turn induce synthesis of fibrotic factors. In addition, the activity of antioxidant enzymes is impaired, which results in increased lipid peroxidation, as well as generating a local inflammatory process. Diffuse pulmonary fibrosis progresses with interstitial collagen deposition. Interstitial collagen overlies small pulmonary arteries and arterioles and thus it is associated with pulmonary hypertension in pulmonary fibrotic diseases. In addition, cytokines and silica particles passing through the respiratory membrane can reach the bloodstream. In this context, the increase in the generation of ROS in the circulation may lead to a reduction in the bioavailability of nitric oxide, an important endothelium-derived relaxing factor. A deficiency in the nitric oxide bioavailability can result in vascular endothelial dysfunction. Moreover, pro-inflammatory cytokines could contribute to the impairment of endothelial function. In the airways, pro-inflammatory cytokines can reduce the smooth muscle responsiveness to β- adrenergic agonists as isoproterenol. Thus, the aim of this study was to evaluate the effect of silica dust instillation in the function of the pulmonary artery, aorta and trachea of rats with acute silicosis. Estudo de causas de falhas em selos mecânicos de bombas centrífugas para circulação de óleo térmico

This study is about a heating line that uses thermal oil. It is located in a facility that produces interlayers used in cars windshields. A plastic resin is melted and is sent to a matrix called DIE where the interlayers are produced. The DIE needs to receive heat from the circulation of thermal oil in four different regions of its interior, to ensure the correct thickness of the interlayer. The thermal energy is provided by electric heaters and the flow of thermal oil is impelled by four mechanically sealed centrifugal pumps (one per region). The key point of this study is the fact that these four pumps of the system have reported successive failures in the mechanical seals. Apparently, a poorly designed project has burdened the system intermittently. The pumps operation condition is located in a region of low efficiency, according to the characteristic curves. This fact is the source of the noticeable reduced time between failures. Changes in the configuration of the facility and in the number of pumps will be proposed, aiming to achieve higher operational efficiency. The proposals will be mathematically analyzed according to the Hydraulic Institute criteria. At the same time, we will also keep focus on an in-depth study of a heating system structure, starting with a detailed approach for each component and discussion about its real need and economic viability. At the end of this paper it is shown that the gain in efficiency achieved with the new proposed configuration reflects not only in the reduction of maintenance costs, but also a potential improvement in energy efficiency. It is shown that these two aspects are closely related and together form the basis for the design of a reliable and efficient pumping system

Mudanças climáticas: o discurso da mídia sobre o aquecimento global

This research is aimed at discussing the ways in which social agents influence global warming, analyzing the discourse of social actors involved in the debate on climate change, since there is a wide divergence in the scientific community about how man is able to modify the climate on a global scale. In fact the debate that permeates the issues beyond the limits of science and enter into a political-economic framework that takes extraordinary proportions. This emphasis can be very unscientific in the fundamental design concepts, or even creating a trivialization of the media. The main way to convey these concepts is to disclose them in the media, but the media has enormous power to transform the concepts and often manipulate the news by creating a common sense goes against the interests of the scientific community. Thus was conducted extensive research in major newspapers and magazines that move in the country. We surveyed the first two papers which were: “Folha de S. Paulo” and “O Estado de S. Paulo”, during the period from January 2000 to December 2008, totaling 3285 units for the newspaper Folha and 2555 for the newspaper Estadão. Subsequently a survey was made of data published in two journals that move at the national level, and these are the magazines VEJA and ÉPOCA for the same period. By performing these steps, it was concluded that several factors involving the media and climate change, such as topic relevance, types of approaches, perspectives of analysis, the staff development, supplies, among other factors of utmost importance for building news. As a result we can say that the media in fulfilling its role of mediator scientific, disclosing only a vision that permeates the scientific debate. The development in recent years of different media formats has boosted the consumption of narratives, generating a ‘narrative hunger’. Audiences have increasingly looked forward to absorb new and old narratives, and ‘adaptation’ has become a key operational concept to describe processes involved in the transformation of texts. Thus, our discussion will be centered around a few theoretical propositions on adaptation and appropriation in various textual architectures. Although relevant to the debate, literary canonical texts will not be the primary focus. Non-canonical texts will be used to re-visit concepts such as narrativization, intertextuality and transmediality and also to elaborate some ideas on interactivity and multimedia crossover.

In this work we studied the urban movement of an important avenue of the city of Guaratingueta, in the Vale do Paraíba, State of Sao Paul, which is the Avenida João Pessoa, located in the Pedregulho neighborhood. Through literature review on this topic, we could contribute to the understanding of car culture in Brazilian cities.Through research on the history of this neighborhood, and said avenue, interviews with the passers-by and also via site visits, we analyzed the situation of urban traffic of Avenida João Pessoa.
