A região de São Thomé das Letras constitui o maior centro brasileiro de lavra de quartzitos foliados, com produção atual estimada em 250.000 t/ano. O baixo índice de recuperação decorrente das atividades de lavra destes quartzitos, estimada como inferiores a 20% do total extraído, estariam gerando cerca de 1.250.000 t/ano de rejeitos, o que tem se traduzido em grandes pilhas de bota-fora com evidentes desdobramentos ambientais indesejáveis. Objetivando a adequação ambiental da lavra, a Fundação Estadual do Meio Ambiente de Minas Gerais - FEAM iniciou, a partir do ano de 1993, trabalhos de fiscalização e orientação da atividade extrativa de quartzitos no Município de São Thomé das Letras. A partir de 1996, esses trabalhos foram ampliados através do Projeto Minas Ambiente - Mineração de Pedra São Tomé que, sob a coordenação da FEAM, promoveu estudos para disposição controlada e aproveitamento econômico de resíduos, revegetação das pilhas de bota-fora e técnicas menos impactantes de desmonte na lavra. Neste contexto, os estudos geológicos, petrográficos e químicos ora realizados visam contribuir com aspectos de interesse para as atividades extrativas e de aproveitamento industrial dos rejeitos da lavra e do beneficiamento dos quartzitos foliados São Tomé. Trabalhos desenvolvidos no âmbito do Projeto Minas Ambiente e, mais recentemente, pela Universidade Vale do Rio Verde de Três Corações demonstraram a viabilidade técnica de utilização dos quartzitos para elaboração de tijolos prensados e autoclavados. Algumas variedades de quartzitos também estão sendo aproveitadas na produção de vidrados e esmaltes cerâmicos, inclusive com vantagens técnicas e econômicas bastante competitivas sobre matérias-primas oriundas de sedimentos aluvionares. Outros usos para os quartzitos moídos, como carga mineral, material filtrante e argamassas em geral, estão em fase de estudos pelos mineradores e deverão ser brevemente viabilizados, o que permite vislumbrar, pelo menos a médio prazo, um expressivo incremento dos usos industriais para os quartzitos São Tomé. Rapid tests to assess the nutritional status of plants gerbera can make easier the decision of any adjustments in the fertilization of the substrate. The study was conducted to evaluate nutritionally fertigated gerbera plants with increasing levels of electrical conductivity (EC), using portable meters nitrate and potassium, and chlorophyll. For this, two experiments were conducted. A randomized block design with five levels of EC (0.5, 2.0, 3.5, 5.0 and 6.5 dS m-1) and four replications was used. Cherry cultivar was used in the first experiment. In the second experiment, two cultivars (Cherry and Salmon Rose) were used. In the first experiment, the sap of the leaves was subjected to rapid testing of N-NO3- (equipment Cardy Horiba C -141). N-NO3- and K+ (C-131) were determined in the substrate solution. The intensity of the green leaf, in the second experiment was evaluated with portable Chlorophyll Meter. The N content in the indicator leaf in the first and N and K contents in the plant in the second experiment were determined. Rapid tests are presented as good indicators of the level of N-NO3- and K+ in plant tissue, with the advantages of convenience and speed of determination, facilitating monitoring of fertilization of the substrate by producers and technicians.

The article reports on research conducted with fifteen teachers and forty-five students in three high schools municipal Marília - SP, with the goal of mapping relationships between school libraries, computer labs and digital devices. The investigation is linked to the other two poles: one in the Faculty of Education, Federal University of Uberlândia and another at the French Institute of Education, in Lyon, France. Responses were obtained through questions previously formulated and recorded by scholars in an interview situation. The article initially retrieves historical projects of French in the late nineteenth century with the intention of establishing linkages with the situation in 2012, in Brazil. It then presents and comments on the graphics with data. The findings indicate the absence of organicity in relations between libraries and computer labs. Handheld devices outside of school are predominantly used to play and participate in social networking sites.

The fracture surfaces express the sequence of events of energy release due to crack propagation by linking the relief of the fracture to the loading stresses. This study aims to evaluate the heterogeneity of the critical zone for the advancement of the crack along its entire length in a thermoset composite carbon fiber and epoxy matrix, fractured in DCB testing (Double Cantilever Beam) and ENF (End-Notched Flexure). Investigations were made from image stacks obtained by optical reflection of extended depth from focus reconstruction. The program NIH Image J was used to obtain elevation map and fully focused images of the fracture surface, whose topographies were quantitatively analyzed. The monofractal behavior for DCB samples was assessed as being heterogeneous along the crack front and along the crack for all the conditionings. For the samples fractured in ENF test, there was a strong positive correlation to the natural condition, considering the fibers at 0° for the monofractal dimension and structural dimension (Df and Ds). For fibers at 90° to crack propagation, there was a moderate positive correlation for the textural dimension of natural condition. However, for the samples under ultraviolet condition and those subjected to thermal cycles, there was no correlation between the fractal dimension and fracture toughness in mode II

O estudo foi realizado numa área degradada pertencente ao campus da UNESP em Rio Claro, e teve como objetivo avaliar a eficiência do método de nucleação para recuperação de áreas degradadas do tipo “transposição de galharia” na atração de fauna. As pilhas de galhos podem funcionar como abrigos artificiais, atraindo potenciais dispersores de sementes secundários, o que potencialmente abreviaria o processo de regeneração de um ambiente degradado. O estudo foi feito através do levantamento de pequenos mamíferos por armadilhas de interceptação e queda em quatro parcelas de 2500 m², sendo duas delas com o tratamento (pilhas de galhos), e duas funcionando como controle, e o resultado esperado seria uma maior quantidade de indivíduos capturados e de gêneros taxonômicos nas parcelas com o tratamento. Entretanto, as quantidades totais de indivíduos capturados no bloco das parcelas com tratamento e no bloco das parcelas controle foram, segundo o teste de Mann-Whitman, estatisticamente idênticos. Também a quantidade de gêneros taxonômicos capturados foi igual nos dois blocos. Desta forma, concluímos que o método “transposição de galharia” foi ineficiente neste estudo, da forma como foi empregado, não contribuindo para um aumento na fauna de pequenos roedores e marsupiais. O método pode ter fracassado devido a pequena quantidade de pilhas de galhos utilizados para o tamanho da área, como também pelo recobrimento da área por uma grande quantidade de gramíneas, que podem ter funcionado por si só como abrigo para os animais capturados, além de poderinibir a entrada de outros gêneros de pequenos mamíferos não-voadores. Sugerimos portanto, para o método ser mais eficiente, a colocação de uma maior quantidade de pilhas de galhos do que a utilizada no presente estudo, e elas devem ser maiores. One problem that has been happening frequently in port terminals is the poor planning of the loading and unloading of containers. The reason of this problem is the lack of an efficient method that provides the best means of these operations. The main goal of this work is, to implement a method that provides the best ways to perform the loading and unloading of containers, at each port and thus bring a great saving for these terminals, since the number of moves is directly proportional to cost. To carry out this program was used the idea that the containers are placed in vertical stacks, where the access can be done only by the top of the stack, so the ship was treated as an matrix and to fill it, two rules were created for loading and two for unloading. To obtain the best sequence of rules was used Beam Search method, which is an enumeration type implicit method that analyzes only the best solution of the tree generated. Thus, the program developed in the Java language, provides the best way to perform the loading and unloading ports and the way as the ship leaves each port using a graphical interface

The present study evaluated the use of semicircular bending test (SCB) as an alternative to conventional bending test to examine the effect of thermal shock. Still, studies the behavior of fracture surfaces generated by monofractal behavior analysis, which allows us to evaluate the contributions of the microstructure and the mechanical context in forming reliefs during the crack propagation. The fractal analysis is made from elevation maps obtained by reconstruction method by extension of the focus stacks of digital images acquired in microscope. The specimens used were samples semicircular pressed TiO2 (rutile) with and without heat shock, prepared for testing mode I loading. Were also produced, specimens in the form of bars for Weibull statistical analysis. From the three-point bending test, we found the variation of fracture toughness between the samples after the heat shock and natural condition. The SCB test was feasible for the analysis of thermal shock resistance. The results showed that the value of the fracture toughness decreases as the heat shock treatment

O rápido crescimento do mercado de dispositivos eletrônicos portáteis, com aplicações em diferentes áreas (telecomunicações, medicina, engenharia), criou uma grande demanda por fontes de potência compactas leves e, sobretudo, de baixo custo. Essa demanda levou ao desenvolvimento de tecnologia de filmes finos nanoestruturados para a obtenção de componentes eletroeletrônicos, por exemplo, memórias de computador. Estes dispositivos são empregados em “notebooks”, circuitos integrados, telefones celulares. O estudo de cristalização de filmes finos ferroelétricos nanoestruturados será feito através da cristalização induzida por rotas convencionais tal como cristalização em forno mufla. A modulação entre os diferentes cátions (Pb, Ca e Ba) para formar o sistema Pb1-x(Ca,Ba)xTiO3 serão analisadas, visando obter filmes com propriedades compatíveis para uso em memórias ferroelétricas. Para isso, os filmes finos serão depositados em substratos adequados controlando-se a homogeneidade química, a microestrutura e a interação filme-substrato

The hardness has an important role in quality control, in research studies and metallurgical and mechanical specification, selection and comparison of various materials. This property is of extreme importance in the oil industry because it is a determining factor to ascertain the safety of the material used in pressure vessels and pipelines. Due to the inability to stop the equipment while checking the hardness, the hardness testers are widely used portable method UCI, its great advantage is the fact that an essay fast, simple realization and not be considered a non-destructive testing with a good relationship money. The objective is to determine if there is significant difference in hardness measurements between 80 and 1200 sandpaper using a portable hardness tester UCI method, the material applied in gas storage spheres composition ASTM 516 Gr 70. After determining the number of homogeneity, we performed the hardness profile to isolate the major factors influencing the hardness part: cold rolling and segregation of impurities. Factors Cooling and sanding were analyzed using the method of design of experiments (DOE), in which it was demonstrated that neither variables nor their interactions, has significant influence on the hardness measurements by portable MIC 10. This fact will lead to reduction in time and cost for surface preparation

With the development of Digital TV, the equipments are becoming more and more modernized in order to popular- ize the information that soon might reach all Brazilian families. That way, we open a space for discussion about the many directions that the usability applied on ISDB-Tb interactivity (Brazilian System of Digital Television) can take. This paper approaches the questions connected to the concept of usability and also the subjects related to the life cycle of some technologies (existence time, obsolescence) Also talks with the definition of interactivityon Digital Television since it is responsible for the emergence of a new contingent of interacting people which goes from the computer and portable equipments users to the passive TV viewers. It’s possible to conclude that the Human-Digital TV Interaction (HDTVI) comprehends the synergy between three actants on Digital TV: the col- lective (or not) TV viewer; the interface and the issuer who can be represented by an Artificial Intelligence (AI) service.

In the present study aimed to study the use of radio and television in Brazil by the various Christian aspects rooted in the country. The main objective was to analyze how the churches define the orientation or the use of strategies of both comprehensive and traditional media vehicles, which are still the most popular mass media, both for the formation of culture and national public opinion in both states and municipalities, which demarcate and retain regional traits that differentiate culturally, economically and socially diverse Brazilian populations. Christian churches are increasingly seeking loopholes and legal facilities, public spaces and broadcast media to facilitate the achievement of followers of their theological ideologies. On the radio, on television and also through social networks of the Internet, pastors, priests, bishops and lay Christians to seek their potential both in public space and home individually, using old and new individual devices and portable reception of audiovisual content. All preachers fiercely competing for space leased the open television networks, in national and local radio stations and invest in the organization of broadcasters Community legalized or informal. The work also aims to study the radio and television concessions in Bauru, to show the failures that occur in broadcasting spectrum management by the federal government and also for the reader to understand what the Constitution says about the use of these vehicles public concession by religious institutions
