Variáveis de impacto na queda da mortalidade infantil no Estado de São Paulo, Brasil, no período de 1998 a 2008

This is an ecological, analytical and retrospective study comprising the 645 municipalities in the State of Sao Paulo, the scope of which was to determine the relationship between socioeconomic, demographic variables and the model of care in relation to infant mortality rates in the period from 1998 to 2008. The ratio of average annual change for each indicator per stratum coverage was calculated. Infant mortality was analyzed according to the model for repeated measures over time, adjusted for the following correction variables: the city's population, proportion of Family Health Programs (PSFs) deployed, proportion of Growth Acceleration Programs (PACs) deployed, per capita GDP and SPSRI (Sao Paulo social responsibility index). The analysis was performed by generalized linear models, considering the gamma distribution. Multiple comparisons were performed with the likelihood ratio with chi-square approximate distribution, considering a significance level of 5%. There was a decrease in infant mortality over the years (p < 0.05), with no significant difference from 2004 to 2008 (p > 0.05). The proportion of PSFs deployed (p < 0.0001) and per capita GDP (p < 0.0001) were significant in the model. The decline of infant mortality in this period was influenced by the growth of per capita GDP and PSFs.

O desafio da pesquisa em folkcomunicação: cartografia 1998-2011

Este trabalho é resultado de uma pesquisa realizada, inicialmente, sob a supervisão da Cátedra UNESCO de Comunicação e posteriormente complementada e atualizada para essa publicação. O projeto fez primeiro inventário das pesquisas apresentadas em anais de eventos que tratam da temática e dos conceitos da Folkcomunicação, apontando sua importância nos cenários comunicacional e cultural do Brasil. Tratou-se de evidenciar a produção de um conjunto de pesquisadores, representantes de várias regiões do País, que buscam divulgar e estimular os estudos no campo da Folkcomunicação e da cultura popular. Utilizando a pesquisa bibliográfica e documental, buscou-se demonstrar os espaços de inserção e de divulgação do legado Beltraniano, com a finalidade de sistematizar, inicialmente, essa produção, contribuindo para a formulação de diretrizes capazes de fazer avançar o conhecimento determinados pelos fluxos midiáticos ou por eles intermediados no que tange a produção comunicacional nessa área do conhecimento.

Esses cronistas de futebol e suas fábulas maravilhosas: a copa do mundo de 1998 na grande imprensa brasileira

This paper is focused on the reading of the texts of writers who collaborated with the leading newspapers of the Rio-São Paulo (represented here by the daily O Estado de S. Paulo, Folha de S. Paulo, O Globo and Jornal do Brasil) in coverage Football World Cup 1998, held in France. This tournament crystallized a growing trend from print to the Brazilian season: the convening of writers and chroniclers of notebooks from culture to comment on the matches of the World Cup. Here we analyze how these writers and their chronicles and columns permeated by the poetic and metalinguistic functions, enriched the sports pages with reports, stories or comments imagery, subjective and even fictional about football, a phenomenon that is countered, so the search for the referent and journalistic impartiality
