Entre a chuva e o estio ou como narrar a dor na infância

Todos sabemos, por observação ou por própria experiência, que é um mito considerar a infância como um tempo de plena harmonia, como se a felicidade fosse condição obrigatória no cotidiano dos pequenos; todos sabemos quão intensa pode ser a dor no horizonte restrito da dependência. Neste artigo, pretende-se traçar um paralelo entre o modo como duas crianças, diferentes, mas em certo sentido bem próximas, uma menina e um menino, vivenciam e enfrentam a experiência da morte. A análise focará o comportamento dos narradores em “Manuela em dia de chuva”, de Autran Dourado, e “Campo geral”, de Guimarães Rosa, em especial no momento em que se apresenta o confronto com a perda irreparável do irmão, que protegia e orientava. Experiência da dor, fonte de aprendizado, passagem da infância à maturidade.Tristeza e alento, formas de narrar a solidão e o desamparo, mas também de celebrar, no Mutum ou na casa da família, a força da vida, que continua.

Análise da prática de meditação em duas escolas do município de Rio Claro - SP

Nowadays, meditation had become larger than the mystic’s scope, entering the academy through the scientific interest in this topic. Results documented for so many centuries or the experienced monks that practice meditation for a long time are the aims for researches that want, ultimately, establish the real effects of such techniques upon the human body. Research has gone far, and many effects can be evaluated using more precise methods, specially in the medical field and neuroscience, which had greatly backed up new discoveries about the correlation between the mind, emotions, thoughts and the body, making so that mediation can walk the therapeutic ways and complementary health with more certainty and reliable results, as it is happening with acupuncture and yoga. Facing a promising scenario in the correlation between meditation and life’s quality, well being sensation and happiness, there is the possibility of using it in schools, since because of the difficulties and present challenges, those factors are not commonly associated with the acts of teaching and learning, and acupuncture and Yoga have more restrictions because of their own limitations of time and space necessary for their wide application. Therefore, the current study focused on contextualizing the meditation’s fundaments in the scientific perspective, and apply it, even if qualitatively, in two schools of Rio Claro municipality, researching 57 students from Educação de Jovens e Adultos (EJA). Therefore, it was chosen only one meditation tecnique to be applied on the treatment group. As for the control group, it perfomed normal breathing, i.e., without tecniques. Qualidade de vida dos trabalhadores de enfermagem em UTI adulto: um estudo qualitativo

The quality of life of nursing professionals of character is relevant because the service involves every aspect of workers with personal, social and cultural, so that professionals can result in unproductive and emotionally shaken, and may influence the direct patient care.The aim of this study is to report the quality of life of nursing staff working in the adult ICU of a university hospital.Methodology will be applied to qualitative, through interviews with guiding questions, with the subject all the nursing staff of the Intensive Care Unit - Adult, located in Bauru State Hospital. The survey results were analyzed through content analysis proposed by Bardin. The interviews were divided into categories and subcategories in the sequence. In the category Defining quality of life - hidden connections got four subcategories: happiness, pleasure, interrelation and practice in nursing, which are directly related to the meaning of quality of life. What about the profession as interference in quality of life of nursing staff reached the category A profession in contrast with the quality of life - Connections Exposed that led to the division of four subcategories: proximity to death, absenteeism, double day / salary, shifts, ranking at work and work process. Finally, it concerns the improvement of the profession that can intervene in the quality of life of workers obtained the category Improving occupancy improving the quality of life - Connections to be built, which is subdivided into sub-categories: professional incentive, hierarchy and enhancement of the profession. Análise sobre padrões de relacionamentos amorosos no livro Sex and The City

The researches on sexuality, especially from Foucault’s critical analysis, have been denouncing that the sexual repression also happens through the patterns that suggest a fixed happiness model to be followed, not considering the autonomous development of the subject. The aim of this descriptive-qualitative study was to make a critical analysis of the content of the book Sex and The City, which presents narratives about sexual and love relationships in New York. This analysis evidenciated the reproduction of outdated sexual concepts presented on the following thematic categories: (1) Comprehension of the single woman as lonely and unhappy; (2) Comprehension of the single woman as independent and consumerist; (3) Comprehension that the single woman needs a heterosexual relationship related to the happy romantic ideal; (4) Comprehension of the love relationships as commodities: people as objects of use and exchange. The sexual and love patterns presented by the book demonstrate the repression reproduced uncritically by the mass culture. The Psychology has been an important area of the science to denounce the control of the sexuality from these perverse and ideological patterns.

Humanização na assistência odontológica de pessoas com deficiência, através do projeto Cão Cidadão-Unesp

The Araçatuba School of Dentistry along with the Veterinary Medical Course, both from UNESP, develop the Extension Project called “Cão Cidadão UNESP” (Unesp Citizen Dog), which is accomplished in some assistance societies, including the Dental Assistance Center to Persons with Disabilities (“Centro de Assistência Odontológica à Pessoa com Deficiência” - CAOE-UNESP). This project develops a multidisciplinary work involving professionals and students from health sciences. The project aims at developing activities to relieve stress, fear and anxiety of patients with disabilities in the moment that precedes the dental treatment. The team performs procedures such as walking with the dogs and patients, toothbrushing the dogs so the patients can see it, in order to learn and motivate themselves, dressing the dogs with some accessories such as white clothes, mask and cap, to associate with image of the dentist, making this relationship more pleasant and welcoming. It is evidenced, through reports of professionals, that the patients become calmer and more collaborative with the dentists, distracting them from the treatment focus and creating a positive bond. It should be noted that this experience has contributed to motivate the professionals to introduce new techniques for dental approach, such as Animal Assisted Therapy. It also shows that animals can be very helpful in treating people with disabilities, because they offer a lot of love, companionship and provide moments of joy and happiness to the participants.

Geografia e imagem publicitária: um diálogo possível

The aim of present work is the interpretation of a Coca Cola soft drink advertising image that is shown on a billboard in the city of Presidente Prudente, in São Paulo state. The billboard shows a scene of the video titled Happiness Factory which was presented on television in 2008. Decoding this kind of image, which is integrated to the theoretical and methodical option, favors the visual perception of shapes and their meanings as a reading of the image and the inclusion of the studies of phenomenology of cultural geography to the social reality could reveal some other dimensions, such as the symbolic, the imaginary, the aesthetic ones.This fact will contribute to widen the social trait of Geography and it represents our object of study.The reading will be done after some reflexion on the function of an external advertisement, that is, within the urban context of Presidente Prudente when refering to billboard being studied. It will also be discussed the importance of becoming a critical reader when interpreting advertising messages presented by the communication means in general.
